are we sure about the age of the pyramids ?

in my opinion they could have been built much earlier in history

then the pharohs took them over as burial chambers

but that wasnt the original purpose

They haft to be pretty old, I heard that the Egyptains began building the first pyramid just as the last of the Mammoths died out.

Even if the Pyramids were not originally designed for what it is commonly accepted they were, they would have to have been built as some form of monument, or centre of worship, either to show off how powerful the builders were or as a temple.
Method
Some people believe that the Pryamids were an ancient sacrficing temple, other believe it has astronmoical meaning, referring to Ryans Belt. The truth well ... thats anybodys guess.

i saw this documentary on discovery about the origins of the pyramids and a scientist was arguing that they are actually 10.500 years old.

according to him the pyramids suffered from water damage which only could have occured 10.500 years ago when the nile was much larger than today.

plus because the pyramids were constructed to represent the Orions belt, the only time that the belt was directly above the pyramids was 10.500 years ago.

Dante Rouseau
I think I saw that documentary too, he also used other ancient monuments that lined up with corresponding constellations, such as the sphinx and those temples in cambodia that i can't remember the names of right now, all of these lined up at around 10,500 years ago, personally I don't believe in coincidences that big.
et's daddy
so that would put the 4000 years before the currently accepted dates ?

i wonder where those original builders went ?

I think the pyramids were some sort of ancient power plant, harnessing some sort of energy. One had a gold top coul this have harnessed lightning? In the great pyramid, the note of #F is constantly heard- could this be a clue to something, or is it harnessing sonic energy?

Also, the american indians played the note #F to 'serenade the earth' - perhaps to answer your question pappy of ET, they are in the earth.

Maybe they worshipped Orion's belt for some reason or it could also simply have been built to show off how powerful they were at the time as is commonly accepted.
Dante Rouseau
The problem with that is the pyramids only aligned to orions belt 10,500 years ago, long before the commonly accepted dates, without the alignment its just a line of 3 pyramids and what with the egyptians being big into astrology what better way to worship the stars than to build huge monuments to reflect them on earth.

The pyramids were built between 3000bce and 2500bce. They are aligned to the stars of orion as it appeared in the sky in 10,400bce.
However none of the pyramids have any water damage.
That only appears on the sphinx.
The common crackpot theory at the moment is that the sphinx was built around 10,400 bce and the pyramids foundations laid out before an inundation made the area uninhabitable. The egyptians then came along 8000 years later and finished the job.
It's all baloney frankly. The T.V. program you saw was a graham hancock one.
That means its factually incorrect all the way through
Hancock is a journalist not an egyptologist and it shows in his work.
He bends the facts to fit his theories rather than the other way around.
He was recently humiliated after claiming that the submerged temples at mahalipram were 10,000 years old.
Since the tsunami it has been discovered that they are in fact 1500 years old.
Nice try graham
No goldfish this time

Even if it is all wrong and current history is correct I still like to think theres somethings out there in our past that we don't know yet, it would make my history degree seem much more interesting.
