POLICE in southeastern Iran have found 38kg of opium hidden in the stomachs of nine sheep and goats.

The official IRNA news agency said the animals had apparently been forced to swallow the narcotics by traffickers moving the drug from neighbouring Afghanistan en route to western Europe.
The find sparked one wit to ask: "How do you turn a goat into a mule?"

Drug smugglers who swallow packets of cocaine or heroin in an attempt to avoid detection are often referred to as drug "mules".

That has got to be one of the stupidest ideas ever thought up, only surpassed by those people who tried to smuggle bologna into the U.S. from Mexico as a car seat...you'd think that they would realize that a.) It's freakin' bologna, it looks like bologna, not a car seat. And b.) The smell must have been horrible.

Back on topic though, can't people smuggle their own drugs. Why torture the animals, they could easily die if the drugs leaked in any way, I think the trafficers should just transport the drugs themselves if they want them that bad.

If the animals had of made it, I don't think the dealers would have waited for the drugs to pass naturally.
It was to be death for the animals either way. disgust.gif
