user posted image rThe man's heart stopped beating after a heart attack, but the man did not dieNikolai Mikhalnichuk, a resident of the Russian city of Saratov, is a unique man. He is the only person in Russia, who lives with a still heart. The story started several years ago, when Nikolai's relationship with his wife, Lydia, started worsening. Lydia was coming home late, Nikolai was answering dead phone calls: he realized that she was having a love affair. One day Lydia said that she wanted to leave him. Nikolai was crushed with the news - he had a heart attack at night. He felt sharp pain in the chest, and it took him great efforts to call an ambulance. When doctors looked at the cardiogram, they were surprised to see that the graphic waves on the paper did not look like usual ones - Nikolai's diagram was much smaller.

When doctors examined Nikolai's heart through blood vessels, they were shocked to find out that the man's heart was not beating, although the vessels continued pumping his blood. Nikolai's body was functioning on the base of absolutely unknown rules.

Wow, that is really amazing...how is it that his blood is still pumping. I don't know if I believe this. I mean, medically speaking, it is impossible. I am really curious now, I want to see his cardiogram.

You have to be somewhat sceptical whenever you see "Pravda" as the source, in my opinion anyway wink2.gif
bathory
they should get xray girl and boy to check him out rolleyes.gif

They say in the article that he is lucky to have extra-strong elastic vessels.

That is what pumps blood in your body, normally the heart is the motor to help pumping blood, but he is lucky to have extra-strong elastic vessels which makes his heart useless.

He is one of the 3 people in the world to have this.

Kinda cool that you don't need your heart to pump your blood.

thats kinda freaky

it says "Scientists found "sleeping" parts of the heart tissue with seven members of the experiment to test a new cardiograph model. The seven patients said that they had had a very strong emotional stress before."

I think mabye this is happening to me. Ever since my now ex gf cheated on me with my best friend Ive had this pain in my heart, I went to the doctor and my cardiogram was regular just a little weak. they said nothing was wrong...so mabye part of my heart is "sleeping" Ive always had a very strong heart beat and now its weak which is very strange, still the pain persists, but only when Im reminded of how I was betrayed by the two people I trusted most.

I wonder why they haven't tried jump-starting his heart--or inserting a pace-maker. I have little medical knowledge, but it would seem like common sense to try something like this.

They could send me 10 cardiograms in loads of
different colours and it'd mean diddley-squat to me. grin2.gif

Even if the heart only regulates the pumping how can he
still be alive I mean what's regulating his blood-pumping ?

If this were true, you'd at least see some mention of it on at least one major news outlet. I checked CNN.com, found nothing. Same with foxnews.com. So, I decided to see what google had to say about it... wow, the search results show something! Oh, wait, that's just the original news article from pravda, and a discussion on -- of all places -- fark.com.

That, on top of the question of how this is at all physically possible, doesn't lend itself towards making this believable.

Not buying it.

sounds as possible as anything else to me

it could be real, it could be fake... either way it's filed in my head as something to consider if I'm ever in a situation to need it... like if I'm trying to revive someone without a heart beat and they yell at me to get off it won't supprise me as much as the rest of the people standing by...

alien.gif After a considerable amount of research I have found that this man is an Alien/ Human hybrid. The results of years of abductions and genetic manipulation. What we see here is science at its best and I think we should all send Money in for more research. Burnside can hold the Money.

Because they don't need to. He has extra-strong elastic vessels , which makes him capable of pumping his blood through his body without the aid of his heart.
So giving him that would seem pointless.

no way I'm going to believe this
