do you know that today(14th of march) is Albert Einstien's birthday?

The man who changed everything.

I just read his theory of relativity, where in time and space were related and
the idea of time travel struck to my mind. just imagine if you can travel through
time. you can change your dream into reality at a speed equal to the speed of
light.

you need not rush for school and office to reach in time, instead change time at
your convenience. you can even go to past and talk to Einstien himself.
you are God if you can control time. let us hope for an other Einstien to change
the world and give man the power of time.

Good luck getting to the speed of light! thumbsup.gif As you get closer to the spped of light time seems to slow down, and once you reach the speed of light everything stops. So, if you had a time machine that reached the speed of light, you wouldn't be able to stop it. Not to mention steering that thing. blink.gif

According to general relativity a massive object warps the curvature of space-time(like the analogy of the bowling ball on a trampoline). But general relativity also predicts that if something is spinning it "twists" space-time. Because of this it is possible to twist space-time enough that by flying just under the edge of the twisted space-time and then moving back into normal flat space, you would arrive there before you flew into the twisted space-time: Though this would require space-time to literally be twisted until it "flipped" over.

Time travel is absolutely possible. I travel 24 hours into the future every day original.gif. MOre seriously there is actually a device thats matimaticly proven would be capable of traveling in time the problem is we don't ahve the material to build it. A buddy of mine also has his own theories and proofs of them but the same problem.

^true it is theortetically possible, we just dont have the means at the current day and age

yes, we must jump on the flyinggorillas back! Hmm this is interesting.. yesterday, I didn't even know it was einsteins birthday, but I checked out these books on space time and had a sudden interest in them for a while, now I think I'm gonna skim it though...

alien.gif I found the thought of giving Man the power to control time, thus making him like a God to be disturbing. Humans can not handle the power they have now. no.gif

If you had all the parts to build a time machine and it could be assembled in ten days and on the tenth day you began regressing in time, on the ninth day you would be one day short of finishing the assembly. The second day would leave you two days short of final assembly and on the tenth day you would be in the time space of having all the parts and beginning assembly. Hardly a trip at all?

There is actually a site on the internet dedicated to this supposable time traveler that came back to warn us about the next civil war and a upcoming nuclear war. Believe it if you want but it is a fun read non-the-less! www.johntitor.com

Ah John Titor..ya I've heard a thing er two about him no.gif hmm.gif

Back to the subject of time travel...(er, rather, super-speeds)

If you could move incredibly fast (think Superman,) would you really be moving that fast?

Ie. if I decided to run to the next town, and was running so fast that everything around me seemed to stop, yet to me I'm just running at a normal pace, how would that benefit me? As far as I'm concerned it would take me 4 er 5 hours to run there, yet to everyone else i would be barely a blur as I whizzed by..therefore is it even worth it to move that fast when to you its just a regular run?

Bah if you can untangle that mess of a paragraph, all the power to ya!! laugh.gif

I think that if time travel is possible i hope that immense power doesn't fall into the wrong hands

Although with my luck it probably will
lol

What if people from the future already came back to our time, but then we thought they were crazy and put them in mental institutions? What if they came back and tried to warn us about the atomic bomb, but we didn't listen... they should have brought their ray guns with them lol.

Time travel I would think has many ways to be obtained, not just one master way. Space Time is surprisingly manageable and moldable. original.gif I've heard many different methods... from the flipping space time theory, the giant rotating space drum theory (that curls it over like a cosmic milkshake), just flat out outspeeding lightspeed, and altered states of mind. wacko.gif

Anyways, if time travellers already have come to our time, they must take extreme care to fit in with the time period. I would guess the future governments would have control over it and limit whoever could go for certain specific reasons. Not just any Joe Nebula could have a time machine. rolleyes.gif That would be chaos, and we'd know about it.

Could we go as far to say some UFO's are time machines? unsure.gif

Good luck. laugh.gif Anyways if you went back in time, then you could change the future (or something like that).

Anyone seen 12 monkeys? Thats got some cool time traveling in it.
