Fable
The triangle represents three points in everyone's lives: Maiden,
Mother, Crone, or Youth, Father, Wise Man. Between each of these points
are clear paths, or straight lines, connecting each stage of life. The
triangle shows the neverending cycle of life and the three main cycles
that we live through.

Triangles can be used for self blessings, rituals for life passages, and
even for blessing items with the continuity of life. For example, you
may wish to charge a piece of your jewelry with the eternal cycle. One
way to do this is to go outside and make a triangle out of white stones
on the ground and place the jewelry inside it. Visualize the cycles of
life and their aspects infusing your jewelry, making it powerful with
life energies. You might also wish to leave your talisman/jewelry out
overnight under the full moon within the triangle.
You can also create mini triangles for your alter or arrange your alter
in a triangular setting.

Walken
They can also symbolise strength and guidance, but sofia made the accurate call.

Well, this is what one of those pointers look like. Notice the glass in the middle, so you can see the letter, there is no pointing needed.

That is true, I was thinking of the homemade ouija boards and pointers in those they literally have to point to the letter. Pardon rofl.gif

Almost every culture has some significant symbolism invested into the triangle.
To the Druids it was the breakdown of their holiest number 9 (being three three's)
In Japan a Shinto ritual which waves a paper wand in the shape of a triangle is thought to bring harmony to a home and keep spirits away from the doorway.
As stated previously, Neo Paganism has adopted it to represent the three faces of the Goddess.
The cult in Greece which started in essence, modern mathematics held it second only to the pentagram.
It's one of mans oldest symbols because it's one of mans oldest epiphanies, the connection of mind body and spirit and the triple nature of the universe.
All important things come in three's.

I'm curious as to what sparked the question original.gif
coldethyl
don't forget, it's also the shape of the pyramids.
absinthegreen329
Technically, they are a triangular prism.
coldethyl
yeah, that's true. still tho, if one's researching triangles the pyramids definately have a paranormal connection.
