ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- A 21-year-old mother in Central Florida was arrested after she told police she abandoned her 3-year-old in the woods to teach the child how to survive and become more independent in the world, according to Local 6 News.






Police said homeowner Brian Carter found the child face down and groaning on the Eagle Creek Golf Course after the mother, Krissie Glover, knocked on his door at 4 a.m. Thursday looking for help after her car became stranded in south Orange County.

Carter found the toddler dying of hypothermia -- her body had dropped to 84 degrees. The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers a body temperature below 86 degrees as severe hypothermia and life-threatening, according to a report.

When investigators questioned Glover as to why the girl had been left out in the cold in some woods, she said she wanted to teach the girl a lesson.

"She stated that she wanted to teach her child how to survive on her own, to make her more independent and that's why she left her there," Orange County Sheriff's Sgt. Rich Mankewich said.





Carter said he had a gut feeling someone may have needed help when he opened his home's door to Glover at 4 a.m.

"Everyone I've spoken to said, 'I would not have opened the door,'" Carter said. "Four o'clock in the morning, how do you know she is not there with someone with a gun or a group of people that would rob you. Well, I don't know, I had a gut feeling."

Carter trekked nearly a mile and found the girl barely alive.

Glover was charged with child neglect.

The girl and a 5-month old were hospitalized and are now in state's custody.source

I hope the Court doesn't give those Babies back to that immature distrubed person.
I hope the children go to better families, hopefully not her relatives either.

Completely agree, I do. Some people should never breed...

Some people are just weird in the brain like that , thinking children are capable of doing the same things as they are. They're probably thinking "They gotta learn some how." Or they just don't know what to do with the kid .

People should have to take a test before they are allowed to have kids. It really ticks me off when people do things like this.

This is so true.... but since it goes against good ethics we'll just let the gene pools dry up....... hopefully after awhile people with low gene quality won't be able to procreate...... it's still survival of the fittest out there.....

I have kids too and cant imagine leaving them somewhere. obviously she has a problem and is sick. I hope they dont go back to ehr.
