infact there is no life without light. just imagine what our life will be if sun didn't
rise. we are gone!!
we all probably will experience a hell on earth. every thing will start to
disappear slowly.

Some life can survive without light. Like for example: moles, kelps, seaweed, and a lot of bacteria can survive without light, of course. If perhaps the sun was gone forever, we would use artificail light... And perhaps even evolve to adapt to darkness. (of course, I don't believe that humans can evolve, so thats just empty speculation for me)

Pretty much exactly as Norman said. If there had never been light, we would have simply adapted to total darkness. If you want to read an excellent book on the snuffing out of the light and hell on Earth, I highly reccomend "The Darkening" by Chandlew McGrew. Not only is it a great story and based in real places (including my own county in Maine!) but it really makes you question real things like the Vatican and the apocalypse.

you need light in order for plants to grow, with out plants there would be no food, no food equals no animals, no animals means no humans

light gives us a thing that gives us energy that's why people in alaska ge depressed in the winter.

Not all people get depressed when there is a lack of sunlight. I don't live in Alaska, but in Maine during the winter we have about 8-10 hours of daylight. When it is dark, I love it because its an ease to your eyes, it's peaceful, and that usually means its cool and breezy outside. Exercising in it is very fun, and I wouldn't mind being totally nocturnal, too bad the rest of society isn't.

darkness is depressing though, which is why solitary confinement is in dark rooms

I believe we have evolved so well that we have adjusted to the benefits of the sun's light because it is so frequent, like just below 50% of our day in total.

Energy is the basis of life, light is produced by energy.

I disagree we don't need light for life, the basis for life is water and heat plus any other conditions, what about the millions of species and plants that live in deep. There is no light there yet they thrive, and everyday we find a new one. Did you guys see "Aliens of the Deep" by James Cameron go watch it you'll be blown away by the species they found down there.
And if the sun were to burn out the earth's surface would just turn to ice and maybe some bacteria could live on the heat emitated by the earth near the lava vent's.

The moon gives off light because of the sun...
Do you think life on this planet would exist if it hadn't been able to survive? I believe very strongly that if the sun were gone tommorow, within a few weeks the human race would figure out all the energy they need to power artificial lights is right under there noses(literally). The earth has a power plant right in its center, a giant mass of liquid energy that gives out massive amounts of heat. Everyone goes underground and thermo dynamics would keep the bunkers full of heat. Maybe this is what the martians did when they lost their atmosphere. Just kidding.
I think ill go make a whole thread about that in the government conspiracies section... ahaha I will.

If light was life, the why isn't life light?

Not all life is based around light in deep ocean thermal vents their are bacteria that use chemosynthesis rather than photosynthesis to produce energy.
So yes life can exist without light, just in a completely different way then we are used to.
