I'm not sure if this is the right thread to post this subject but if it is, anyone may comment...

Has anyone tried doing this?

The folklore & curse of Bloody Mary? Where supposivley you call her name out 12 times facing a mirror in the complete dark and you are cursed for the rest of your life.

I never had the balls to do it myself because I heard and read some scary stories of spooky things happening. There are other folklore and legends of curses and such. Anyone tried this or know of any others?

Freaky stuff...

Yeah even though i don't believe i can't scilence that voice in the back of my head that says"WHAT IF?"
maybe it saved my life
But i always heard that "Bloddy Mary" comes out of the mirror and rips your face off or something like that.

Just another reason not to be superficial lol

what i read on this bloody mary thing is that it hardly works for guys just chicks and that you have to have a candle lit and spin while you say her name so i sent my sister in the bathroom she is 15 so i didnt force her and she said she saw nothing and she is still fine so i dont beleive in that one if there are any others let me know i will give them a shot

There was a thread like this a while back and I remember somebody making the statement that you never really see anything in the mirror, you just think you do because in dark or really dim light your eyes play tricks on you, so if you do see something, all you are seeing is your own face in the mirror, just distorted or changed in a way because of your eyes playing tricks on you. Bloody Mary is nothing more than a story to scare children.

Ha, I thought this little snippet was quite amusing:

Why would otherwise rational youngsters want to risk setting a murderous spirit on the rampage? Gail de Vos offers the following explanation:

So why do children continue to summon Bloody Mary, flirting with danger and possible tragedy? The ages between 9 and 12 are labeled "the Robinson age" by psychologists. This is the period when children need to satisfy their craving for excitement by participating in ritual games and playing in the dark. They are constantly looking for a safe way to extract pleasure and release anxiety and fears.

acutally, i remember years ago a friend of mine (who from all accounts was completely logical.. and not the type to make stuff up for attention) swore black and blue that she did bloody mary and she saw her ghost behind her. she was so freaked out she never did again and i think she even consulted someone in her church. whether or not these things do happen... im not about to try them !
