How does an atheist take this for fun? The first question is saying there is a god... some people these days.
scipherel
Mine was different.

I'm atheist and i got 'Maderate Christian' - WTF!!! laugh.gif

Yes, the choices are limited and you fall on the category of
MODERATE ATHEIST then. w00t.gif w00t.gif w00t.gif
Stellar
I cant answer the 1st question..
Seraphina
Neither can I...however, since "an example of mythology that has, somehow, persisted to this day" isn't available, I suppose I'll just have to do with "one of the world's greatest books"...the only answer that doesn't allude to the existance of god.

I had to take most of the answers as an approximation of my veiws...very few of the answers properly catered for me. However, despite voicing a few...shall we say morally bankrupt opinions as some of the answers available, the quizz did give something of a fully rounded choice of answers, for the whole spectrum...provided, of course, you do actually believe in god tongue.gif

In the end I was "progressive"...suits me, that's what I'm supposed to be: a thinker tongue.gif

zandore
I started to take the quiz but seen that the answers did not apply to how I felt or thought. hmm.gif
Q-La
True to a certain degree. original.gif
_hAiLO_
Yeah, thats a faithful one grin2.gif --^

And if your atheist, sorry if the quiz didn't really suit you hmm.gif . I felt like since there were the terms 'Moderate' or 'Progressive', you would find our how you hold your beliefs like the Theory of Evolution or a non-existant omnipotent entity. Again, sorry if it insulted you, or made you feel weird laugh.gif
Axle13
There are some very absolutist questions in there, it's hard to answer any of them, so I just picked the closest ones I could see. To be honest, it looks like the questions were written by the religious right. I got progressive, btw.
mr dollarhyde
Well i got

"YOU ARE A PROGRESSIVE CHRISTIAN YOU ARE TO BE COMMENDED FOR YOUR POWERS OF CRITICAL THINKING YOUR PASSION FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE YOUR RESPECT FOR PEOPLE WHO HOLD BELIFS DIFFERENT FROM YOUR OWN "
........ hell all this time i thought i was a born again atheist...... w00t.gif w00t.gif

No problem here. There are 4 categories that you are put into and this is what I found:

Progressive Christians are gifted with powers of critical thought, a passion for social justice, and a respect for people who hold views that differ from their own. They tend to favor the separation of church and state, support a woman's right to choose an abortion, and are eager to learn from people of other world religions. Progressive Christians tend to emphasize what people of different religious traditions can do in cooperation with each other to create a better world. Rather than seeing contemporary culture as being hopelessly depraved, progressive Christians seek to reform it on the basic of ethical norms derived from Old Testament prophets and the teachings of Jesus.

Moderate Christians are usually comfortable in denominational churches (i.e. Presbyterian, Episcopalian, Lutheran). While embracing Christianity, they also respect those who may be less committed, and tend to be skeptical of religious hype. Moderates are in a good position to mediate between those who hold views that are more extreme than their own, whether liberal or conservative. They can play an important role as peacemakers and mediators where there is conflict in churches. The Second Coming of Christ is not normally emphasized by moderates, most of whom share the progressive's desire to see progress in the here and now.

Traditional Christians appreciate dignity, familiarity and beauty both in public worship and in their private life of prayer. Comfortable with the venerable language of Scripture, creeds, and the great hymns of the church, they regard those who seek change for change's sake as being too willing to toss aside the tried and the true for something less substantial. Given their respect for what Christianity has received from those who have gone before, their style of faith can provide a sense of continuity and stability in troubled times. Traditional Christians generally accept the church's teaching about the coming kingdom of God, but like moderates, this is not a subject frequently talked about or discussed.

Evangelical Christians seek out churches where the gospel is boldly preached and people are not afraid to express their faith with strong emotion. They tend to find the worship of many denominational churches lifeless and the preaching shallow. Evangelical and fundamentalist Christians may have difficulty accepting those whose views seem less settled than their own. With their faith strongly rooted in the Bible, evangelicals have a special calling in helping others stay in touch with the life giving Spirit of a living God. Some evangelical Christians are highly critical of popular culture, to the point of thinking the "end-times" are near and look forward to Christ's Second Coming, an event they expect to happen very soon. Among evangelicals, biblical prophecy and the rapture are a focal point for conversation and study.

i fell in to the traditional category. some of those were hard for me to answer. like the rapture one. i dont think there is going to be one. there were several where i agreed with sometimes 3 out of 4 of the options.
Neo2005
alot of these answers don't even apply to how i think
_hAiLO_
Hehe, thank you all for taking the quiz happy.gif . Again, sorry if it didn't fit you...the good part is the description besides the Christian parts(in response to Zandore).

Cheers grin2.gif

It also said I was a progressive Christian...sure.

I found the choices to be very one sided. I couldn't truthfully answer a lot of them.

(I am Atheist by the way)

im a traditional.. why are nonbelievers gonna take the test? dont make much sense to me...
marduk
This isn't a serious test
Nobody who's taken it has taken it seriously
why shouldn't non believers take it
Is it a Sin now

For people to not take this quiz seriously
w00t.gif thumbsup.gif
zandore
"OH WELL" then I am a sinner.
LoVer_Of_GoD
no, marduk, it just makes u look like an idiot.. non believer taking a quiz for believers, to tell them what kind of christian they are.... DUH!!! sounds pretty dumb for u to take it.
zandore
I don't think it (quiz) was meant to be taken seriously.
LoVer_Of_GoD
i know... but the fact that this dude is going to take it, knowing it is for beleivers, is dumb... its just the principle, this dude is looking for a fight with someone..
marduk
Hey log the only person looking for a fight round here is you.
You even offered me a fight when i pointed out that wiccans aren't religious zealots
I don't want to fight you. do you understand
I don't fight those who have no chance of beating me
I prefer competition
w00t.gif
Now relax
If you're happy in your faith as you claim why are you so agressive
Didn't jesus say to turn the other cheek
Or did I get that wrong cos I'm an Idiot (like you said)
Or should i just point out all your offensive posts to the mod team and see what they say
Personally I'd rather be friends
It's much more rewarding morally and spiritually
Understand ?

"Thanks for taking OUR test" thumbsup.gif
LoVer_Of_GoD
i was mad because u were being rude about the wiccan thing... but id like to be friends... sorry for the hostility, having a kinda bad day already, and just tired.... so, sorry for the hostility.
marduk
If I came over as rude then i apologise that wasn't my intention
what you said was extremely offensive to wiccans though
Luckily none seem to have noticed
Or you would have got a really rude reply
thumbsup.gif
N.B. i find it advisable not to post or read anything at all when i'm having a bad day. Getting up the next day and remembering what i posted is guaranteed to make the next day bad as well

An abbreviation for the Latin phrase nota bene, meaning “note well.” It is used to emphasize an important point.
