Hello original.gif today I noticed a problem in photoshop that would only let me use a certain amount of filters.. everything else is greyed out and im not sure how to fix it. when I create a new selection (like a bar or something) i dont have options to use all filters like I did before... I just recently switched computers and it was fine on the other one.. not sure what exactly could be different now sad.gif. I cant fix it and was wondering maybe one of you knew how.. heres a screenshot of the filter selection

Are you using RGB as your color palette, or is it indexed? Are you trying to apply these filters on a new layer after selecting an area on the main one? What version of PS do you have?

I think the new layer is what's getting you. The new layer has no pixels on it, therefore you can't apply a filter to it. The only way you can apply a filter to a specific selection is by keeping it on the same layer as the image, or by copying the selection to the new layer and editing it there.

Hope that helps original.gif

I had the same problem, but I managed to solve it.
You have to change from 16bits/Channel to 8bits/Channel in Image>Mode menu.
This should help original.gif
