Everytime when my family and all people are upstairs and my lights are out i hear some strange sounds like something is knocking on something like the sound of something ticking against plastic and sometimes downstairs i sometimes hear one in my room very softly is this normal or? Or am i just insane?

No, you aren't insane, it can probably be explained by some moving paper, or the house shifting. I know that sounds cliche, but that is usually what it is. Do you have a fan in your room, or do you leave your door or window open? If you do, then that can cause a breeze to make any number of odd sounds.

do them knocking souinds sound like there is pressure applied to somthing, i am just curious because i have them a lot in my house, on TV, Desk, Floor, Dehumidfier (takes moisture out of the air) on the landing/ stairs.

Also if you watch TV at night do you hear them about your room, like in a pattern, mine come from the landing near the door, onto the compuyter desk and onto a small monitor i use for the xbxo and then onto my TV.
also if you ignore them do they get louder

I did use to hear a bag russling sound too as if squished togeather but that was a long time ago and also sounds like crisp packets beiong done the same. the weirdest thing is that i never had any bags in my room or ate up here because i hate being up stairs on my own for reasons, especially after dark.

just curious reply

please reply just curious as soon as possible Spyofkilling. and i will ask a couple more original.gif

House is just settling... I hear sounds like that all the time... but don't ignore it, becuase I did onces and the sound I ignored was my brother getting ready to scare me. mad.gif

Maybe you have a ghost who returns from shopping noisily?

Well, as others have said, it is probably the house settling, or something like that. Do you have pets? My dog starts playing with her squeaky ball in the middle of the night. Quite a shock when she starts howling along with it! ^.^

That could be the wind knocking trees against the window and the sound vibrating through your house, also if your house is old then it prolly is the hous eitself, just settling.. dont be too waorried dude, ull soon know if its activity if things start flying around thumbsup.gif

I'm going to have to say that it is probably just the house shifting...My house makes noise all the time..it used to freak me out when I was younger but I just try to ignore it now... grin2.gif

Well it might be just your house.
in the day time the house get's hot and expands.
In the nigth when it get;s cooler it contracts and you hear creekign groaning banging and all sorts of weird noises

the reason you might hear it better at night when the lights are out is because its quiet. when during the day i assume people are usually talking and you may not hear it. another reason is at night when its dark you cant really see so your hearing gets better and you hear the slightest little thing.

But how can my house knock on a closet and door? plus it sometimes also knocks against stuff in my trash contrainer. The house aint old though and there is no tree at any window at my house.

I once lived in a house that had a rat in it. You would not believe how much noise that rat made at night. It was finally exterminated and after that the noises were gone.
