Yea that was a great game boys!!!! Wooohooooooooooooo!
Everyone in Canada was watching Jeceris. That penalty kill is amazing playoff caliber, the focus is champion like in your guys, ALFREDSSON!!!
crtBud420 I love watching those Sabres, that Affiniganov reminds me of Pavel Bure so much, not as good, but plays just like him. I love this matchup! Goaltender was big.

Earlier predictions, to which i could quote were: Det Van - Van Ott - Ott Buff.
I still wish it was Van and Ott,

but the baby steps are working.

No disrespect to Sabres... but i haffi root for my Canadian brothers.

well you were right, it was a battle, EXTREMELY TIGHT!!!!
AND MILLER WAS INCREDIBLE!!!!
but, the sens hung on and that's another thing this team was never able to do very well, hang on to a one goal lead, but the buffalo power play, AGAIN, shut down, not one goal from Buffalo on the powerplay this series.
and i know it's going to be a hard fought one wednesday, but there it is, the possible sweep.
wow oh wow, this team looks like the tema that can do it.

I appreciate the kind words about the Sabres and how tight the game was, but that was a pathetic game. We had 4 shots in the first period, even though we had 2 power plays. We really are not playing like the team i have been watching all season. These guys just don't look like they want it anymore...
I'm tryin to hold on to the faith right now, and still think we could pull something off, but it's very hard to really believe this. These Sabres aren't giving me too much of a reason to keep telling people they're going to make it. I do need to give Miller the credit he deserves 110%. He is our star player this series. As bad as we have been doing, there is still a glimmer of hope; tomorrow's game. The least we can do is prevent the humility of a sweep. This season has been too great for them to let it end this way.
Come on Sabres! Get it together! Let's turn this series around, you only have one more chance!!!

every year that has ended with 7, from 1927 to 1997, the stanley cup winning team has either been a canadian team, or it's been detroit.
so if both the sens and wings make it, stat will still stand.

May 17 2007, 02:07 AM
yeah.....rain saturday....please!!!
ugly win....sabres played the last 10 minutes as if they were just killing time. They got a power play with about 8 minutes left, the sens got the puck and were content at that time to kill the penalty. it looked like the sabres thought, "OK...let them kill the two minutes"...then with about 6 and a half left they kept playing like that....kill the time....then they got another power play with 2 and a half minutes and again, they looked like....lets let the sens kill the penalty. Well, bozos....the sens weren't about to KILL it THAT time! They were still trying to tie it. The sabres looked like they didn't understand THAT concept...

Until this game today, it looked as if the Sabres were playing like the Sens of old. The team that would make the playoffs but with no damage done. This year that is all water under the bridge,
Sabres will need to pull up their socks even more... this is evident from the cuts that Lindy ruff will make to anyone.
The Sens need to get back to all that massive defence that won them the first 3.
Great series so far, love that Afinighanov.
And aswell...
That hit was so cheap, just reminds of how much i can't stand Progner (meathead) broke back brother Neidermiyerr... Js Gigiere,
watching the Ducks play, Selannie, Brian Burke...that whole orgaization entirely. Missed all the games so far.

May 17 2007, 02:15 PM
Well they did it, despite their lack of ambition in the third. They did sit back to kill time, and it worked! Barely, by the hair on their chinny chin chins (which isn't a lot for briere

), but they did it. I'm not complaining. They did what they came to do this game and that was evident when they scored those first 3 goals. Who thought it was going to stay 3-0? I knew it wouldn't be a shut out, but a win's a win. They
know they can beat the sens in this series now, it's just a matter of winning on saturday. Baby steps fellas, don't count this team out just yet.
And kak, playing like the sens of old? How about playing like Buffalo does everytime they come to the playoffs. Or how about this comparison; playing like the Bills everytime we're in it for the Super Bowl. We just can't seem to get over the pressure... but maybe this year will be different... or maybe not

absolutley agree onyx, you'd think chelios would be classy enough to do that, but maybe pissed after losing to what i'm sure he thinks is a dirty team.
and i did hope the wings would make the final, my son was cheering for the ducks to make it, and i asked him why, (as he was putting on another of his many autographed sens shirts) and he said that just in case the sens lost, at least the kid from our town, huskins for the ducks, would bring the cup home.

I don't know if I'm in the minority or not, but that's never stopped me from opening my mouth in the past, so in the spirit of consistency I'll open my mouth once again. I think that Comissioner Betman and the powers that be in the NHL have done a TERRIBLE job of promoting the game of hockey in areas that promotion is needed most, the strike nearly killed the game of hockey in the US, and it's not a coincidence that hockey is not even considered one of the "big four" sports in the US anymore(NFL, NBA, MLB, and NASCAR......FREAKIN NASCAR!!!??). ESPN dropped The NHL like a bad-habbit and Betman and Co. could do NOTHING???!!!
The great game of hockey is alive and well, is better than ever, and needs to get a bigtime T.V. contract to get people interested again, it lies at the feet of the Comissioner and his staff to get that done.

ok.
well something else has surfaced, worthy of the unexplained mysteries forum.
going way back, the sens won the stanley cup quite a few times in the 20's, the cup was only 7 inches tall then.
anyhow, the story goes, that, after the ottawa team won the cup in 1923, they traded the great "king clancy" to toronto.
the "king" was so mad, he apparently put a curse on the ottawa team and said, "ottawa will never win another cup at least until 20 years after i die"

IT BEGINS-STANLEY CUP FINALS FROM ANAHEIM-AP-JECERIS
It's been so long you wonder if either team would remember how to play the game, but tonight Ottawa and Anaheim faced off in the Stanley Cup Finals. As Steven Stills murdered the american anthem, I wondered if the ducks would be just as nervous, against a senators team that has proven they know how to find the back of the net. And it didn't take Ottawa long to find it once again in these playoffs, as Mike Fisher beat Giguere on the first powerplay of the game, showing that maybe Anaheim has to stay out of the penalty box, and to do that, maybe ease off on the hitting. Well Jackman seemed to miss the memo, but not the senator players, and rattled them as the first period moved on. The sens seemed to be a little dazed and confused in the California sun, as Miller knocked Redden off the puck, and MacDonald fired it straight in the top corner to beat Emery and tie the game.
AND THEN, the hitting really began, and Anaheim showed Ottawa, just like the Gov'ner, in the stands, they indeed were back. Arnie must've grinned when he saw May pushing around Neil, and Pronger run Phillips. Must've reminded him of trying to get a drink at the Kennedy's last bar-b-q.
But there we are after one, tied and it only looks like it's going to get rougher.
Bringing you up to date, period by period, it's Jeceris from the Honda Center.
