For years I have had an inability to focus on what I am doing an so am often led to daydreaming. Usually this is nothing out of the ordinary but every so often I get these unusual feelings or visions or words that float around in my head that I can't explain. Let me elaborate for you, the very latest incident was last night, all night I kept hearing the word Yale as in the University at different points during my dreams and I always felt a shiver after that word was spoken. When I woke up and turned on the TV they had breaking news that there had been an incident at Yale, that a floor had fallen throught or something. But I always seem to know that something has happened before I have even heard about it like when my dad told me that Frank Sinarta had died I said 'I Know" when I had just been swimming for the previous two hours while the news was being let out. I am interested in things that are not normal, classifiable or explainable but when something happens to me I am very skeptical about it. I checked to see if the radio had been left on overnight so that I may have somehow subconciously heard it but it wasn't so I don't know am i having some sort of preminition or anything I just really want to know. unsure.gif
P.S Sorry it's sooooo long wink.gif

This sounds cinda interesting! can you tell uss about any other of these visions? wink.gif
Althalus
Interesting, it sounds kind of like premonition, but as you have stated it could just have been you overhearing something, may not even have been yale, but your mind interpreted it that way.

The freakiest one that I have had was with Princess Di. I was dreaming when I saw like a map of England joined to France then a crown lots of bright flashes red and then nothing. I woke up sweating and breathing heavily and I heard the news 3 hrs later. I was really freaked. I also often have repeated shaking feelings and they usually preceed a major earthquake. I just find it all so weird and I keep wondering what it is all about

Glimmer Of Hope,

Premonitions are not entirely uncommon, at one point in 1957 there were so many reported premonitions that the 'British Premonitions Bureau' was founded to record and organise them all. They managed to keep records of over 1000 premonitions before they closed down.

I've heard of many cases of very distinct premonitions involving the predicting of major events, such as disasters, a famous death etc.

I find it hard to believe that every one of these was a coincidence - and what you describe sounds very similar indeed. You might want to try writing down details of any further potential premonitions you experience to see if anything happens, even if they seem relatively unimportant at the time. You may be pleasantly suprised.

Oh, and welcome to the forum by the way.

Oh, and welcome to the forum by the way.

Thank you!!! biggrin.gif

Does anyone really know what preminitions are about, why thay happen, that sort of thing or are the just totally unexplainable and unpredictable?

ive had one really strange premonition/dream that was true. i was dreaming that i was in a room full of catholic bishops and that we were in Korea. i remember everything very distinctly as it wasn't at all like my normal dreams, but much more like reality. then, all of a sudden a very loud explosion... it was so realistic, it was like i was there. i could feel pain, smell burning flesh, etc. i thought i died there, but i jolted awake in my bed sweating and heart pounding. i may have even cried, i can't remember.

anyways, that day on the news i saw that a bomb had killed a group of catholic bishops in Korea. that is just such an unlikely event and i don't understand why i dreamed of it, but i really did. it wasn't even the top news story and i was just lucky to be watching and see it at all. it was one of the most vivid dreams of my entire life.

I would realy want to know more. smile.gif

I understand BASIC!

10 PRINT "Where do you want to go today?"
20 MS$ = 1
30 IF MS$<1000000000000
40 THEN MS$+1
50 GOTO 20
60 PRINT "|31LL g4t3z 0wnZ5 j00!!!!!11"
70 END

My IF - THEN loop might be a little rusty, correct my code if you see fit.

*lol* Space Moose.

I haven't done anything in BASIC for years, so I'm not quite up to scratch either, but I can safely advise against running that particular piece of code, as it would put you into an infinite loop.

You'd need to get rid of the GOTO line and add a FOR NEXT loop instead. As it is at the moment it would go on forever because there is no conditioning to prevent it from going back to 20 every time it loops.

Oh, and a variable with $ is for string values, 'MS' would be what you'd need for storing an integer value in this case rather than 'MS$'.

I haven't done BASIC since I got rid of my beloved Commodor 64. We moved on (stepped back?) to FORTRAN in college.

Well, back to premonitions.. as to why they happen, I have a theory. Obviously you weren't given time to do anything about what you saw. It really has only served to show you that there is more to reality than you would think there was if you just watched tv or read the newspaper.

But the fact you get them probably means you have some as yet undeveloped psychic ability. If you wanted to, you might try to develop this. You might get lucky and become the Australian John Edwards, or what have you..

But I am not sure I would advise this, now that I think of it. My own experiences with divination has led me to question whether we are really "meant to know" such things.. blink.gif

If I were you, I'd follow my intuition. I have a feeling our hunches can be trusted, if not always our thoughts and plans..

ya, Bill Gates was a rebel!

Thanks for getting us back to the point, Sidhe.

One theory I have read about (and which I think is very cool) is that premonitions are the result of time itself folding back on itself for brief periods. Some people are more attuned to these occurances, especially when asleep, and may catch a brief glimps of a possible future event, or even a long past event.

Ah i don't know if aspiring to be the next John Edwards is a good thing lol!:D How would I develop it if I wanted to? When I told my mum about all of this she said that I was crazy and that any so called preminitions were just womans intuition. I was mad at her for a while after that but then I actually thought about what she said and reasoned that womans intuition, I know is srtong, and usually right on the mark, but maybe that has something to do with why I am having all of these

Glimmerof hope , welcome to the forum smile.gif I love it when we get more members from the southern Hemisphere .

If you wanted to develope this ability there are several things you can do , first of all keeping records is a great Idea it may not develope the skills but it will help you keep track of them and then maybe you can find different triggers in your life that cause them . Secondly try a spiritualist church , it's not so scarry and worth a look . thirdly meditation will help you learn to control and utelise your visions . Good luck I hope it's rewarding for you . smile.gif
glimmerofhope
Thanks I'll give that a go. What sort of spiritualst churches? You live in NZ so they would probably be the same over here.
TheOracle
Hi Glimmerofhope biggrin.gif , There are also some great books available that can guide you on developing your psychic abilities.

p.s. If you are from brissie try the Circle Bookshop biggrin.gif
Kismit
Hope , Church has never been my thing . Mind you if you try a bookshop like Oracle suggests one that specialises in the area of spiritual studies , the people there will more than likely be able to point you in the right direction. smile.gif
