This story is very weird, one day(friday) I had a friend over and he stayed till 8:00, a few days later my grandpa said that he got a phone call from my aunt saying that she got his message from friday from her work phone and my grandpa said he didn't phone! The message says that the phone number from my grandpas home showed up and the voice is excactly of my grandpas voice. He didn't phone because he was busy talking to my mom and dad and i was with a friend. What makes it even wierder is that my grandpa doesn't even know the phone number and he knew she wasn't their, she was at her home where he did know that phone number! I'm not quit sure about what it is causing this, any of you know?

Well, just one question. If grandpa didn't call to leave the message that the aunt got at work where grandpa didn't know the number, and the aunt was not at home where grandpa did know the number but the message was not left, and the parents were with the grandpa who didn't make the call or leave the message, and the parents didn't leave the message, and you were with a friend whao did not make the call...
What was the message?????????????

I have seen this sort of thing reported before. There are several reports in the "real stories" section of the about.com paranormal site.
They seem to have a couple of things in common. First, it *isn't* the relative it seems to be, or at least, there are factors that make it difficult to believe that it could have been. But to confuse things, the person uses phrases and inflections such as the relative in question would make. There is nothing strange about it, in other words, to put one's back up until after it turns out "grandpa" really couldn't have made the call.
And I'm not talking about "calls from beyond the grave", these are from people who are still living.
If you still have the recording you should save it. It ought to be digitized and analyzed. As a recording engineer, I can digitize it, but I know nothing about how to analyze it.. anyone else?

Well.... First of all... what the message says would definately be important. I say this because working for a phone company i know there are many ways you can have this situation happen.
Call forwarding is one. If your aunt had her calls forwarded to her work... this would easily explain how he got her work voice mail.
But i'm still more intrested in the message.

Maybe old Grandpa has a doppelganger and he called?
(What?!! It's a paranormal solution to a paranormal problem...)

I was wondering if the old "parallel universes" argument would occur to you..
What if they exist, but there isn't really a solid wall between them all the time? Then there *could* be two Loonboys doing different things at the same time.
If we could only harness this awesome parallel universe power, think of it.. We would never have to work again! I could just collect the paycheck from some alternate Sidhe, for instance, who appears in my reality at the proper time.
'Course then the poor fellow wouldn't be able to pay *his* bills.

I'd be robbing myself!

omg TWO LB's
please
one is sufficient in all universes
two or more or even thirteen dilutes the original surely

and WHAT WAS THE MESSAGE??

It was just a normal message, like I need to speak to you, call you later.
One more thing my grandpa isn't senile.

Not very interesting in itself, then.. I would look to the "call forwarding" suggestion for an answer.
..and it wasn't nice to call his grandpa senile..
Sorry about that, Chaplin.

Actually, it must have been a very important message if he left it without calling a number he didn't know at a place he knew she wasn't.
After re-reading the story, I have one more question... Did the aunt that got the message from the grandpa that didn't send it to a number he didn't know at the the place he knew she wasn't the same aunt that called that same grandpa from a place he did know the number and the same place he didn't know she wasn't but he did know the number to when he didn't leave the message that the aunt got from the grandpa that didn't leave the message?

Well I don't mean to be rude .. but as I think or maybe your grandfather has Amnesia .. this means loss of memory .. I hope not .. And maybe he did call her but she forgot to check the phone earlier

Well, there have been alot of cases which involve ghostly phone calls. I can recall reading one that is about this couple who whenever someone called an old women answered the phone and told the person at the other end of the line that they were out. They installed an answer machine but the old women still got there 1st. The guys mum had recently died, but it apparently sounded nothing like her :S
Yup, that one baffled me too
