Gah, I’m at it again…asking the same question as before *sighs*

Well, just wondering how many role players we have out there, (message board role players that is). Mainly, wolf role players, that’s basically what I’m looking for. Nice, literate role players happy.gif

Okay, so I’m really desperate to play, it’s been FOREVER (literally) since I’ve had a decent role play with anyone…It’s sad these days. *sobs* Anyways…if anyone isn’t up for the challenge here, I’d be glad to have someone join my new forum, hopefully this one will succeed unlike all of the others…they all died a most putrid, horrible death to the illiterate kind.

*weeps*

I'm here, Kind of. But tell me, what do I have to do? What type of role playing?

*brings out his leathers*

role play? I've done a little... here and there...

sadly not as much time anymore to really enjoy it

I think message board role playing is dying out...I've just signed up on Moon Tears best wolf role playing site (topsites) website, and am already number three x_x.

When my site makes it to number three or even four in a rating/ranking situation, somethings really wrong.
OneEye
A few years back I came up with an idea and some online friends of mine, as well as myself, made our own spin-off of message board role-playing. We called them story boards.

Everyone has a character, as usual, but instead of just doing things like what you usually do in role-playing, we made it like a story. Each person would put another part on the story where the last person ended. You could control other writer's characters, but only to an extent, no major changes unless you okayed it with the writer first. I know of a few, not very good, seeing as they were three or four years ago, but hey.

And it makes it fun seeing all the other people's writing styles.

We haven't added on to them lately, so I wouldn't bother trying to sign up, but you're welcome to read and copy my idea for story boards... Just put "Idea stolen from OneEye" at the bottom.

My site
My friend's site

Pretty dumb, I know.

PS If you make your own, I'd recommend Proboards. It's free, and you can do some good stuff on it.

So..You pretend to be a wolf? Please explain more.
moe eubleck
Moe has indeed played many a wholesome role playing groove.

note: if you want further info it will cost you 1d20 gold pieces.

*is still pretty active RP wise, when she gets the chance*
Walken
I used to do roleplay on gametalk. I had the most awesome character to, The Arch Angel Gabriel, who wanted to destroy heavan and earth.

*dances with joy*

Yeah, you pretend to be a wolf. If you understand everything, it comes pretty easy. Learning is the hard part though. I’ve been at it for almost a year and a half, and am just now starting to be considered advanced.

*sobs* Sorry Moe…

But umm, any other questions I could possibly answer?

Just so all of you non-role players know, role playing is fun.
Seraphina
I must admit, I couldn't RP as an animal...it just seems to...I dunno, limiting.
autopsies
Limiting? They can do all the things we can, if not better...I think. It'd be funner to role play a tiger or other big cat, more interesting I think.

But, the main point of this site is wolves and, well...yeah.
Seraphina
How can they do all the things we can? huh.gif How can a wolf execute dialogue and relationships with other wolf characters (equally incapable of dialogue), or have long, intricate monologues that reveal its personality?

For that matter, how can you do much except...run around...and hunt stuff huh.gif It just sounds like a very linear idea to me...doesn't seem to offer the same scope (which is near limitless) offered by playing a person.
autopsies
Simple. You exagerate.

Wolves now are able to speak amoung themselves, fall in love etc. Using all the basic rules of regular message board role playing.

And, it goes way beyond hunt and run around if the main role player is creative enough to deivse a good plot.
Seraphina
Okay....can you give me an example of what you'd consider a good plot? huh.gif
autopsies
My most recent plot was with a bunch of friends, so it isn't the best plot ever thought up. Just, a quick example of what five minutes on a sugar high can do to a kid.

I'll just post the entire thing, how's that ^___^

Plot - Challenges, Aeyia’s “Survivor” A Test of Trust and Loyalty

It is the second day in Arella for most of the wolves that Kree, Davien and Ariy gathered with Aeyia. Fore others though, they have only been for a few hours at the most. Starting at dusk on this second day, Aeyia will call each of the acknowledged wolves together, to the largest clearing in Arella; very close to the center that is. She will then state her purpose, three challenges, each one harder and more difficult than the next. Each one completed will give Aeyia more faith and trust towards those who rank in the top competitors. Her trust given will be greater towards those who finish sooner...but will not vary among an individual. She will not loath those who fail, nor will she ban them; merely will she keep her eyes on them more...

Each challenge has a specific reason...

Day One: The Bells COMPLETED
Day Two: One Hare
Day Three: Huntress

Day Two, Test Two: The alphess will allow a pair, either gender (which means there can be male and male and female and female pairs), to form. Only after picking a partner will Aeyia state the test of this challenge. The goal is to bring down one hare for each pair, Aeyia will not allow you to return until this has been completed. It is also important to work together as a whole! Aeyia has her reasons for each challenge, each wolf will rank higher in a certain area. This test zeros in on ones hunting skills.

Rules:

Wolves at the age of six months or younger are not allowed to compete.

One pair is not allowed to help another pair.

Posts can not be under thirteen sentences or two paragraphs.

Day Three, Test Three: The last challenge will be the hardest by far, and Aeyia will only tell one thing about it. There is a strict time limit on this test, one moon up or twelve hours. She wants the gathered group to hunt and bring down a buck, preferably one of a high stature with more rack than the juveniles. Aeyia will not help in this hunt. Her goal is to boost teamwork skills as well as tracking and ambushing.

Rules:

Posts shall not be shorter than twenty sentences. Writers block is an exception at thirteen sentences.

Aeyia will only help in this situation if one is in dire need.

Wolves at the age of two or younger are not allowed to participate.

Oh, to clear things up, Aeyia was an old alpha of mine. She was the alpha female of my pack Arella.
Dog Demon
Hmm, I belong to another forum where we RP virtual pets from a game called Petz, it's a good load of fun. ^^
This is my main character, Aion.
autopsies
I 'memember you Doggeh ^__^ From long times past. I never knew you role played...
Dog Demon
^^ I remember you too! I'm really good at RPing, and I think it's a lot of fun.
autopsies
Yeah, I agree with the fun part...Though, I am a bit disapointed right now...the length and near quality of this introduction, to the Angelfish Tides on my site, I just got through typing is horrible. Length wise. *pouts*

EDIT: I've been called advanced a few times, with a few of my smaller descriptions. I don't know what I'd be labeled with it. Like to see it here?

That is the kind of thing I would be into.
Too bad it was not more popular a hobby eh.

I tend to have a simple rule of thumb....it's usually betterr to focus on word length than paragraph or sentance length (a sentance can be anything between two and a dozen words, and a paragraph can be equally open ended in length). With world length you have a definite limit...and generally speaking, if it's not at least 1000 words, it probably doesn't have enough depth to be worth posting.
