ok this is gonna sound abit weird but, yesturday i was having a shower at my botfriends now if you imagine a corner shower. After pampering myself for 20minutes i started washing my face and turned to the shower head so i was facing the corner my eyes were closed so i couldnt see but straight away i got this horrible feeling someone was in the room with me just outside the shower door it felt like a tingle of fear going down my back, i franticly washed the stuff off my face so i could see, even manged to get crap in my eyes from not washing off enough as i was truely frightend. The feeling didnt go away intill i stepped out. And i didnt turn to look into the corner again as this feeling was really strong and it worried me abit i mean im not the paranoid type at all so i know something wasnt right ive never had that feeling before?
Anyone got any conclutions to this????

I get the same sensations, in the shower especially after I close my eyes... used to when I was younger get that sensation like someone was outside my window... nowadays when I go throw out the trash, sometimes I get that sensation. hair on the back of your neck stands up kinda thing... it doesn't have to be dark or night time, but that's the more common times I get that feeling.
nothing bad's happened to me... so I attribute it to some chemical my body makes... sure is creepy and scary as hell though.

Apr 5 2005, 03:16 PM
I would say this is a natural reaction caused by your body.....because you're having a shower you are vulnerable and defenceless, your brain picks up on this and your defence mechanisms kick in....such as the feelings of being watched. It may not happen all the time but theres always a first time...you will probably feel more and more like this in future
But Spirits are supposed to be all around us so who knows
There is a theory that some low spirits in the lower levels of the afterlife absolutely refuse to move on to higher progress because they are tied to their earthly vices...such as drinking, letchery, etc etc........This probably doesn't make you feel any better does it ????????
Low spirits dont like light....have really bright lights installed in your boyfriend shower....................alternatively have him shower with you

For protection only you understand

I take showers and have never gotten the feeling.
But... Started reading my psychology manual, and women are more prone to that feeling then men. So, maybe it's just a female trait.

This isn't a joke. Someone or something maybe watching her. Yah, it may be a female trait (I wouldn't know), but she may be in danger. Sorry if I'm freaking you out. Just hate women in fright/pain........

I think that it's natural to feel vulnerable when you're naked, and especially in the shower when your senses are limited and your traction on the wet floor is poor.
That's why the shower scene in Psycho was so effective.

i've had that feeling on a number of occasions..
its usually my cat coming in for a perve.. i swear, the look on his face changes when he sees you naked..
but seriously (me?) i get that feeling occasionally.. and i hear the phone ringing or someone calling my name.. tis a bit wierd, but i ignore it everynow and then...
if i ignore it too much is when funny stuff happens.. i will get poked in the back constantly until i respond to whomever is doing it.. it used to happen quite a lot.. not so much now, thank goodness, cos it gets mighty annoying

I get that feeling too. It's when I'm in the shower, when I'm in bed, and when I'm walking home late at night/in the dark. Oh, yes, and when I'm upstairs alone.
It might just be natural, or something else.

It's pretty darn scary though, to say the least. I feel like just running to the first person I find, whereever they are. It terrifies me.

Hey RA!

Good to see you around!
I don't think this feeling is weird at all. I think women are programed from a young age to be instinctively searching out danger.
When a guy parks his car, he parks it and leaves. When a woman parks her car she thinks about what time she will be back, the type of night time lighting, will the location be deserted. Etc, etc.
Now that being said, I have a question for you. Does your boyfriend live at home or does he have room mates? Is this a shared bathroom?

Maybe I'm just over feminine. Some women I know just don't pay attention to anything other than their nails, how close they can get to the door when parking, and if they can beat someone to a parking place.

I'm the one that says "hey, don't you wanna park under that light?"
But besides that point, more on topic...
Could be demons...
Could be someone astral peeping...
I get that feeling sitting at my computer sometimes. Not just in the shower or washing my face or taking out the trash. I could be sitting there reading a comedy book for 2 hours and then all of a sudden I get that creepy sensation. Nothing changes but my sensations. I can be standing in the same spot just fine and then all of a sudden I'm like "is something watching me??"
Now I have had times I feel someone's watching me, but that feeling isn't "sinister" in the least... I look and lock eyes with someone and then usually they look away... just random strangers that happened to be looking at me. Same with my wife, she's come up the stairs and watched me and I just look up straight at her and am not supprised to see her there... I knew it, before I knew it so to speak.
But the sensation is not the same. In normal cases I sense I'm being watched from a direction, and look. Sometimes I see someone watching me, sometimes I'm looking at a building with a bunch of windows and figure someone saw me from somewhere inside or something.
These other ones give me chills. I don't know if sinister is the right word, but... uneasy is a good feeling. Not just that feeling of being watched but something with a touch of... dread?
But like I've said, nothing bad has ever happened when I had those feelings... but I've had them, it's not a woman's domain only thing.

One theory as to why we feel we are being watched in situations such as this is because its an evolutionary trait going back to when our ancestors used to be the prey to big animals! It would make sense. Being naked in a shower and turning your back to the room you are vulnerable. Sitting at a desk facing a computer you have your back turned to the rest of the room you are leaving youirself open....get my drift? I think its just a natural instinct.
When I am washing my face at the sink sometimes I get the feeling someone is behind me, leaving me with red , raw eyes for the rest of the day!

Its because I am leaving myself open to attack (in the caveman sense) and because I cannot see it heightens the instinct.

Apr 26 2005, 11:21 AM
I've had that experience myself a few times - and completely freaked myself out everytime.
I think that when the steam fills the room (I have a tiny bathroom), there gets so much of it that it just a small draft makes it move about - add to that the various mirrors I have in there - I catch glimpses of movement - which is (hopefully) steam. - still makes me jump though

Ive had this experience myself quite a few times..I was at my cousins house a few yrs back..watching TV..heard a sound but didnt think nothin about it..got this really weird feeling about 15 mins later and looked to my left and someone was standing there staring at me!!!! I about had a heart attack..called the cops and they said he must had been out there a while because of the grass pressed down..
But Id check into any peep holes ect..you could be in danger..so hope ur careful..

Well also another thing that I've just recently in the last few hours had was when I was dancing with my, uhh, 'friend' at the dance when all of a sudden I had this really weird "you can't hide from me" feeling and but when I looked around no one was there, but she did seem to hold me just a little tighter... Maybe she had it too... Well that's something to remember- if two people have it, then you know there's something going on.

Not watched every second, no....but at times. Most of the time I feel like I have no control over my life whatsoever. Things just keep happening and a lot of the time I feel like a puppet being used by some puppetmaster with a twisted sense of humour.

If the things that have happened to me are for a reason, then I sure don't know what that reason is.

Why are you so afraid of someone seeing you naked? Or watching you, for that matter? I get the feeling too, but it never scares me. I'm completely comfortable with being watched. Maybe if you just relax, be sensible and realize there are no eyes on you, the feeling will go away.

for me its not about being seen naked or anything like that, just the idea of being watched at all. i mean, i dont even like it when someone glances at me in a crowded place. if i could, id live in a world where the only human existence is me, my best bud, and my eternally beautiful girlfriend. add to that my laptop and an unlimited supply of mac and cheese and ive got EVERYTHING i need. lol. oh, and i know im paranoid, but at least i have reasons for it. you have no idea, really. lol. anyway, i know just how possible it is because ive been looking at some of the surveillance and counter-surveillance equipment out there. technology is an amazing thing.

admittedly, I get the same thing too. When I close my eyes to rinse out the shampoo or something, I get this really paranoid feeling, like someone is watching me, so I end up frantically trying to open my eyes. Its annoying. That scene in the shower from 'the grudge' sure hasnt helped!

That's a way bad feeling I can say. I have unluckily had the same experience. I have known for some time that there was some sort of presence in my home. And as soon as I started visiting these types of forums and talking about it with others it has increased. As much as something being in the restroom with me. It happens at times when I least expect it. When my mind is clear and thinking of other things of the day. I even asked an investigator questions to see if it could be something lese and there was really no other possiblity than of something actually being present and watching me. I was in once and could have sworn that my husband came home early from work and walked in the bathroom. I can always sense when he's in there. I looked and noone was there. Needless to say I turned off the water and that was the end of the shower.
