SALT LAKE CITY - A 21-year-old fast-food employee has been sentenced to probation and six months in jail for double-swiping the credit cards of customers who irritated him.

Travis Dominguez pleaded guilty to one count of credit card fraud, a third-degree felony. He was accused of doubled-swiping cards at the Midvale Taco Bell where he worked five times, putting in different amounts on the second swipe between $20 and $30.

Third District Judge Glenn Iwasaki ordered a psychological evaluation and $142.22 restitution, and barred Dominguez from employment involving financial transactions.

Dominguez faced five felony counts of unlawful use of a credit card and single misdemeanor counts of theft and obstruction of justice — and allegedly called police pretending to be a Taco Bell executive claiming to have solved the case.

It's unclear where the money from the double-swiping went. Dominguez told police he didn't pocket it, but police said the cash didn't show up at the restaurant.

Just a disgruntled worker getting sick of all the bull people throw at him. Hehe, I know I give workers at fast food places a hard time. Like a burger king two weeks ago, the lady forgot my honey sauce so turned around went back in and screamed by bloody heart out. tongue.gif

I could never work in a fast food place. There is no way I could keep a chipper smile pasted to my face and tell everyone to have a nice day. To heck with that.
I wouldn't be swiping credit cards and stealing, though. But I'm sure there are other ways of venting frustration...am I right??

I know what you mean. People can be very rude. On more than one occasion someone has made my jaw drop from sheer rudeness. The guy had something going on though.

yep.. the general public are a rude bunch of so and so's... i mean really.. there has to be something wrong with your life to be so irritated over a missing sauce that you have to throw a tanty in front of ppl.. and a person in an industry..(you wont believe what others think of you for acting in such a manner)
i can understand that if a person has requested a special meal due to the fact they have an allergy to a food, or just dont like it.. but still, they dont have to act like an incolent child.
time for a lot of people to get a life me thinks

I do special orders all the time at fast food places. It forces them to make a new burger instead of taking one from under the heat lamp and giving it to me.

lol I'm afraid to piss off food workers, cause I know what they can do without anyone knowing... if you've yelled at them, and they seem especially happy when giving you your food... it's probably best to go to another food place... saliva is clear, and warm, and basically tasteless, and you can't tell if it's in your burger... same with sweat... and other things... and you'd have to go in back and stand over them or wind up cooking it yourself or something wasing everyone's time and just making a bad day all around...

But if I want quality, I don't go to a fast food joint anyway... just throw a burger into my mouth and catch the change we'll be ok. Oh, there was cheese on that? Didn't even get to taste it, just inhaled it. Was good. Mmm. Gotta go!

Sit down take your time reastaruants are a different story, I will send things back... but I'm still very polite and tip early, often, well, and not just to the waitor... so they usually get it right the first time and offer all kinds of perks as well as keeping that glass full.

I just hate ruining peoples days too though... I know there's alot of d*cks out there giving a hard time just to make themselves feel big and get a chuckle, so I give food service... well service workers in general, alot of slack. Way more slack than I give politicians in my letters and managers or other departments... I think I know more first names of janitors than managers here in the bank building...

Anyway... double swiping is bad. Shouldn't have done it, punishment seems to fit... where'd the money go though?

Working in a fast food joint would be pure hell for me, working at the register at a supermarket is as far as I will go and I`m only doing it because I`m still at school and need money!

That kid had a great idea even if it was illegal!
