Recently my uncle admitted to something that happened a few years ago. He told me this because I'm one of the few people who is open minded enough to believe him. My uncle makes fun of a lot of people and things, so naturally he wouldn't believe his own story if it hadn't happened to him.
My uncle was asleep in his bed when something woke him up. It was around 2 or 3 am. He heard a loud voice, muttered language, and growling. That's the closest way he can describe the noise that he heard. It scared him badly. He said, "I rebuke you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." After that a whirlwind appeared then disappered into the night.
I recall an excellent post by one of you good people confronting others who don't believe credible people. I'm recapping what you have said in this post. I'm sorry that I can't recall your user name.
When is it going to be enough? Do we question things because it makes us feel better to think that these things don't exist? Are we to call everyone a liar, even the people we've known and trusted for years? If we are, then a persons character no longer matters. Sure I could make up all sorts of excuses for my uncle. "Oh uncle, you had to have been dreaming, maybe it was something that you ate?" Even if there was proof someone would call it fake.
My uncle is a credible man, good law abiding citizen, normal acting, etc... Yet people still scoff at his experience. Of course he doesn't care if people believe him or not. His ladyfriend of 20 years called him crazy for mentioning it. I don't expect anyone to believe this story, but something may happen to you one day.

I was thinking the same thing. When you are waking up, groggy, senses not completely kicked in, and you hear/see something... it is a shadow and your old water pipes are "groaning" because of the pressure, etc. I never believe the stories in which someone wakes up to "see or hear the paranormal" because they didn't wake up until after the dream scared their mind into jolting their body awake.

I think you should keep your manners. People know when they are not asleep. And this kind of things doesnt only happen during nighttime, daytime encounters are almost as frequent.
I think your uncle maybe encountered a negative entity from another dimension ( " Demon " ).

I believe you if so many of these kind of experiences happening throughout the world then something else is out there...
I am also a open minded person but i have read many experiences and most of them consist of ppl waking up hearing growling or even sometimes smelling strange odours in the room... and i don't mean human nature at it's worse
Anyways i hope your uncle has recovered well from this experience

Waking up in the middle of the night and 'rebuking' demons in the name of JC is NOT a normal thing to do....your uncle obviously has some religious hang ups. Our subconscious mind is such that our thoughts seek their physical equivalent. Whatever you 'think' about alot or with much passion...it will happen...whether it's good or bad...whether it is real or imagined...

A lot of people don't even believe stuff they see
for themselves, you surely can't convince them of
what you saw or believe. I really wonder why they
even bother with site. Skepticism is one thing but
too many members should start an "I can explain
everything" or "closed minded egotists" site...

Why challenge people who are skeptical to certain stories? Is it not more logical to think of a rational explanation for these occurences than to jump to the conclusion that it's a "demonic entity" or ghost, whichever.

Although I always try to beleive people on their experiences, I will attempt to explain them without aid of the paranormal first.
Your uncle could've been dreaming.
When we wake up we're prone to a number of sensations; thats why it's so comfortable to just lay in bed. We feel, hear and see things differntly.
I really am not sure that the minute your uncle woke up and heard a growle, had the instinct to immediatly say 'I rebuke you in the name of Jesus Christ'.

I'm not going against your uncle's credibility here. He could be the most honest person since George Washington, for all I know..
But it seems to me that if some Demonic Entity had appeared; then it would take more to get rid of it than just the one sentence..
At least if all the other Demon stories I heard have any credibility at all..

Hey Cendari,
Thanks for sharing your story. He could have been dreaming, or it could have very well happend. Regardless, I don't think anyone should write him off as crazy though. Sometimes we do have dreams that seem like they are real, so there is no way of knowing for sure.
