Hi all

The only people that will accuse the new pope of being the "anti Christ" are extremists that do not want a pope that might try and bring the catholic church out of the dark ages, and into the modern world. If you have not noticed, religious extremists seem to be very old fashioned, and any type of change they deem as being evil, or against god. If a pope tries to become more tolerant of others, and there beliefs (not saying the last pope wasn’t tolerant) they will be seen by those that do not want change as the "anti Christ" lets face it religious extremists have been accusing people since the time they came about of being evil, and the "anti Christ" if they have differences of opinion to them, its no difference than prejudiced about if they think differently to you, then call them slanderous names, and accuse them of being evil.

People are whining on about how the new pope is going to be the "anti Christ" because they are terrified the catholic church might pick some one that might not be so obsessed with dogma and control and power over others. Freedom is not something religious oppressors and extremists like, so anyone showing a glint of freedom will be accused of being an "anti Christ"

Those of us not of the faith (Christian) do not have anything to worry about
Ashley-Star*Child
No, it's got nothing to do with that. The next Pope could be more conventional than the last.

More than one prophecy has been made about it.

Hi i really have nothing much to say or any info for you guys but am jus looking up stuff and if i find anything i will get back to you's.

i was told the vatican won't chose a black pope because if it turns out jesus doesnt return it will throw their religion out of the window but if they have already been 3 black popes then we have nothing to worry about.

Hi Faeden!

The only nasty people are the ones that are obsessed with "the end of times" its almost if they are praying for it to happen what horrendous people. Wasn’t it Satan that wants death and destruction.

People obsessed with the end of the world, are the ones that are anti Christ, I feel so sorry for Jesus, being he has deluded followers that are obsessed with the deaths of billions of people in a "holy apocalypse" Some people have such a evil view of the world and of god. All he did was come to the earth to teach love and peace, and his words have been twisted and manipulated in order that power obsessed people can control others with fear, and to convince easily lead people that the end is near.

What horrible lives these end of the world obsessed people must live.
If the end of the world does come, it will have nothing to do with god, but everything to do with these power hungry religions and political evil extremists.

All the best

Being obsessed with anything can sometimes be bad. In my thoughts, I am actually looking forward to it. But, I do also want to live a very long time for there are many things I wish to accomplish while still in the fleash. When the end times draw near it is a time for redemption, where all the evil is washed away. This is why I am looking forward to it, even though I do not envy the people who will be living on the earth during the end times.

Well, not everyone. But, alot of people will. This is where it gets nasty, it's the believers that are going to fall for it before anyone else does.

It would be wise to have a certain detachment from the church here on out. It was never about the church to begin with, some people seem to have forgotten that.

and that is where we messed up.. we think that we must go to church and look to the church for guidance and help, but we need to look to God..
Ashley-Star*Child
Exactly LOG.

Churches, temples, and synagogues are there to pray to God. God is not a statue, a medallion, or a church, and no one Judeo-Christian church is better than the other or the 'ONLY truth'. God is for everyone, no matter which church you do or don't belong to.

I see the same problems with churches now that Jesus was trying to break the Pharisees out of. He tried to tell them it's not about ritual, tradition or just laws, it's about GOD.

The laws still stand, but no one on this Earth is perfect. That doesn't mean you go out and break the rules on prupose, but NO MAN, has the right to exclude someone froma church and tell them they are going to hell by their judgement because they've been 'ex-communicated'. It's God's judgement, not man's.

What's interesting is that my interpretation would have the next Pope in office for 7 months and the one after him for 7 years. This happens to coincide with the December 2012 ending date of the Mayan calender, which by the way I wasn't using for the prophecies of the Popes.

OK, since I have messed up by picking the wrong Pope, don't pay any attention to my reignss of office either, even though the guy is old. I think the new Pope will be in office longer than 7 months. I'm really terrrible about interpreting prophecies. And, I guess the whole 'glory of olives' can fit anyone who professes peace. The new Pope is going to have to do more than just profess peace to earn this title. Of course there have been some prophecies concerning a Pope visiting Mt. Olive. Oh well, I should quit interpreting since I am bad at it. Why do the prophecies look better after hind-site than before? Are we really just trying to make them fit?

Have you ever known someone that was in deep trouble? And no matter what advice you gave or what you did it was almost like they were determined to give themselves a bad end?
Well, that reminds me of The Catholic church right now..
What they need is a dynamic reformer who can mend thier damaged reputation and bring them into this century..
What they elected was, Benedict XVI, a staunch conservative and opponent of any liberal policies or change..

Maybe the next Pope after this will be the last..at least the last Pope with any real power or relevance..
whoa182
so what happend to the black pope most of you were crying over?

So its not going to be the end of the world now ? lol

St. Malachy (an Irish Bishop in the 1100s) had a vision of all the Popes from his day to the "end of days" or when Christ would return to earth. The story goes that St. Malachy's prophesy originally contained 111 more popes and John Paul 2 is # 110. It's quite interesting stuff and you can find a lot online. St. Benedict is also supposed to have predicted a future pope from his order (Benedictines). There was also a early Pope Benedict who was a Moor and dark skinned.

End time events are spoken of through out the Bible. The last book of the Bible, Revelation, reveals future events. Also the books of Daniel, Ezekiel, Joel and others in the Old Testament have warnings and prophesies. In the New Testament, Jesus' words to his followers are quoted in three of the gospels, Matthew chapter 24, Luke chapter 21 and Mark chapter 13. All three begin with the same warning, "Do not be deceived." So don't take my word or anyone elses, check it out for yourself. You can buy a Bible for less than $10 at most bookstores. Hope this infomation helps.

christians have always been talking of the end of times. every time they call for it it never happens.

it is like listening to the so-called "psychics": the followers promote every correct prediction (and the predictions are vague so it is up to interpretation), and ignore the incorrect ones.

by now all this prediction stuff should be seen for the bunk it is. alas, it is human nature to try and define its environment however possible.

as for bibles, i know places that give them away freely. i also know places that will buy them just to burn them(not kidding). the battle to bring the end of christianity is more real than the prophesies of the end-of-times.

haha I was about to say that. tongue.gif The Bible also predicted that before the end the Bible most be preached througout the world, amazingly it is. It also mentions Israel becoming a country again and Hebrew becoming an official language again in which Jews will migrate back to Israel (it's been happening).

well the end times better come soon then as christianity is on the decline.

all the predictions you mention can be described as the high hopes of the writers. thumbsup.gif (some dreams come true, especially when you work for them.)

I think there shold be a woman pope beause everyone is all 4 equal oppatunaties(cant spell it)!

the church prolly elected Ratzinger as pope because he was so much like john paull II and JPII was a good pope... but how long can this pope benedict really last? he is REALLY OLD

A female can be just as religious as a male AND quite a bit MORE peaceful in nature.

that is not why and u are just trying to get me to get into that again.. but that is off topic and i aint going into it AGAIN... so lets talk about the current pope and try to stay close or on topic
JMPD1
And, if the histories are correct, there was at least 1 female Pope already..........

But these 'end of the world prophecies' are fun. If it happens, then all the believers can die happy (relatively) that they were right; and if it doesn't happen, all the believers just shrug and say that 'the portents were read incorrectly' or that hackneyed quote: "No man shall know the hour....". A win-win for the believers.

Matt.24: 14: And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Gospel "good news," from god "good" + spel "story, message," translation of L. bona adnuntiatio, itself a translation of Gk. euangelion "reward for bringing good news."
First element of the O.E. word had a long "o," but it shifted under mistaken assoc. with God. Gospel-gossip was Addison's word ("Spectator," 1711) for "one who is always talking of sermons, texts, etc."

So, because of the fact that such a sentence (Matt.24: 14:) is written in a book that was assembled by men together with other books, which they named the Bible, this does not signifies that such “good news” have to forcedly be in the Hebrew Bible! tongue.gif
