GADSDEN, Ala. -- Etowah County sheriff's investigators are trying to sort out the weekend deaths of four family members in an apparent murder-suicide.

A father apparently upset over his marital problems killed his three young children and then hanged himself in their rural Etowah County home, police said.

Etowah County Sheriff James Hayes says 36-year-old William Eric Krost was found dead early Saturday morning by his wife Wendy after she returned home from a night out with friends.

Why?OK, kill yourself then, but why the kids?My god how a "parent" can do this is beyond me.

Yeah, it's surprising, it happens very often to see a father involving their family when commiting suicide... I would like to know the psychological reason for that.

The psychological reason Ronin allthough I have fortunately not experienced it myself is , that these people are so clinically depressed that they honestly can not see any other way out of this kind of situation . It is up to every one to keep an eye on co - workers friends and even the quiet familly down the end of the street to make sure this dosen't happen .

I am deeply saddened by hearing news of this. If a person is sick and/or depressed, I still can't understand murdering children.

it's certainly not something I agree with either Homer . But I would like to be able to do something to stop these kind of tragedies from occuring

clinical depression probably played a part in it, but other than that maybe he wanted to et back at his wife, as he was having maritakl problems, and this was the ultimate way.

Dodo - he's already dead! He committed suicide after murdering his children.

ya, this was a local story for me. he was high at the time. apparently, his wife left him for another man and he just snapped. it really is a sad story.
