I don't know if someone already mentioned it, but there has been a "reply" on the Arecibo data. From Arecibo they have sent a code into space on the seventies. The code described us and our DNA. Now, years later we have received a "reply" now, I want to know what you all think of it. I think it is fake, like almost all cropcircles. That was some pretty intresting stuff. Almost like the movie Contact. Send a signal get one back type thing. It's upsetting to know that there are people out who would really go to great lengths to forge such things making it near impossible to believe in its true existence.
Ah well.... what can you do.

After looking it over quite a while, I am leading myself to beleive that this is fake also.  There's something about it that just doesn't feel right.

one of those crop circle type things looks like a face now that I've been looking at it for almost three hours now.  I'm being less convinced that these are fake, and am leaning towards them being real.  Look at the picture upside down, and the face becomes more apparent.

What I find quite odd is, why would an alien life form light years away from us with more advanced technology than we have reply to our radio signals with a few squashed crops in fields?

I think that (beautiful though they are, and intricately constructed they might be) the whole notion of an alien civilization leaving us messages in fields is plainly quite bizarre and downright stupid.

If they can manipulate space/time/dimension, or navigate over vast, vast distances, why do something as odd as leave a crop circle. What a waste of time.

It is a hoax.  It has to be.  

LIsten.... don`t get me wrong... I agree that it`s a poor way of doing so... but that`s based on what we as humans would do.

Given the fact that we know little about them and can`t even confirm their existence... If you wanted the world to know you existed but avoided direct contact because you as an Alien had your own motifs... what could they possibly be?
1) Mass Panic.... how would we react? with real proof?
2) Secret deals with governments banning all contact and not following through with the deal... thus Crop Circles and mutilations and so on.  What ever the case.

I can`t say any of this is the way it is. Nor can I disprove it. It`s all hypothetical and theoretical.

But has to be taken as a possiblity that they are of Alien origin.   :sa

I think it is inherently difficult to guess or attempt to adopt the mind-set of another species. We cannot even understand why dogs react in a certain way - we think we can work most of it out but without direct two-way communication, we can never know.

So a dog is a terrestrial animal in direct contact with us (even lives in our homes) and we don't fully understand it. How can we even begin to even try to understand what an alien species motives are?

Plus, I have a problem with this mass panic theory that is propounded so much. I think it seriously underestimates people. Some races/religions may have difficulties with actual proof of alien life, but most will be able to 'get over it' quite well. Most people believe in extraterrestrial life forms anyway.
No doubt there would be changes to the fabric of our different societies, but it would, to a degree, unify our global species - definitely a good thing.[/blue]

`But personally... the only thing that I think will unify the whole planet in this day in age is something so big that it puts humans existence in jeopardy. Then and only then will we decide to unify together.... just to stay alive.

I just have a hard time believing that out of the 5000 different crop circles and forms around the world in the 20 different countries... that they were all man made. I could see some. But the rest have to have a better explanation. Aliens might not be the better one.... but then what is?

I think the firm, positive knowledge that we are not alone is sufficient to draw together the human race at least enough to eradicate most social problems, or put them in perspective.

As far as crop circles go, I have seen some which look like something has descended from above, leaving either a scorched or ragged circle (with or without depressions) and I could imagine that these were caused by aircraft/spacecraft. But as for these perfectly constructed, immaculately pressed cropcircles, I think it's baloney.

All these poor farmers trying to scratch a living from the earth and some crazy people come along with planks and rope and protractors and flatten their livelihood. I think it stinks...

...and if they catch them doing it, I hope they string em up by their Buster Browns....

On a different thread there is a link to a site which shows you how to make crop circles. I think that crop circles are mostly man made, but there may be some caused by naturally occuring phenomena (magnetism, some sort of energy field maybe?) that we don't fully understand yet. I agree with Loonboy, there are far better ways for an alien race to say hello.

You never know it could be a super intelligent species of ant  colony which is trying to communicate in the only way it knows how.  :P
