Not a lot of information available yet, but it looks like a fifth series of Blackadder will be making an appearance next year.

QUOTE
Seventeen years after the emotional climax of 1989's Blackadder Goes Forth, Rowan Atkinson and Tony Robinson will reprise their roles as Blackadder and Baldrick.

Writer Richard Curtis told the Daily Express of the show's return: "We'd always said we'd do it, and yes we definitely still want to."

I heard somewhere that it was going to be set in the 1960's, anyone know anything more about it ?

Great news, Blackadder is a classic! Although I have to say that I can't see it been as good as it use to but I'm sure it will still be good.

Blackadder in the 60's would be good and seem the most logical time period they would set it in, if they follow their trend of moving forward in the time periods they choose rather than just do random ones.

Set in the future or in the old west would be cool too.
BurnSide
I own the whole lot, the only episode i'm missing is the present day special.

I LOVE Blackadder! This is good news, a 60's Blackadder will be awesome!

that is good news.
i had heard years ago that curtis had said, if there was going to be a 5th season, they were going to do something like the "new statesman" that political comedy with rik mayall.
but that's all i heard.
if they're going to the 60's, maybe blackadder will be involved in the profumo scandal, or hanging with the kray brothers.

I heard it was going to be called Black Adder's Five. And it was going to be a rock band of five members in the 1970s, but I heard this ages ago, who knows what it'll be now.

This is great news and I am sure it would cost them an absolute fortune but well worth it.
Talon
Doesn't neccessarily have to cost a fortune, the previous shows usually only had three core sets and then a few here and there. The biggest thing its that will cost is the wages, and even then the BBC can afford them easily enough.

Surely Rowan Atkinson now can demand large fess after his hollywood blockbusters?
BurnSide
*coughs*
Blockbusters? HA!
The best thing Rowin Atkinson ever did was Blackadder, and possibly The Thin Blue Line, i wouldn't say his big screen career has been even remotely successful.
XSAS

Tell that to his bank balance for the Mr Bean Movie and the crappy secret agent thing he did, whethre you or I liked it or not it earned him a bag full of cash.
BurnSide
That's true indeed. *shakes head*

Johnny English. What WERE you thinking.
XSAS

Yes that is the one... I enjoyed so much I forgot the Title?
TheCrow
The idea of Blackadder's Five sounds good imo...

Did you guys know that Rowan is doing Bean 2?
henpeck69
All right! I love Blackadder. thumbsup.gif
<bleeding_heart>
I'm not sure if it will be any good when they went over the top in goes forth that ended the shows brilliantly and fully for me. I hope I'm proved wrong, why not focus on specials the band idea would IMHO make a good one. It would be nice to see Rowan Atkinson playing a bar steward again he does it a lot better.
