HI all

I would like to edit this, and state that I do not believe that god creates us just to send us to hell. I am asking a valid question based on what some people believe, that god would create us knowing most of us might go to hell. Its not an attack on anyone, but me asking a question that I have.

A thought come to me about the idea of eternal burning and damnation.

Extremists, and brainwashed people, and power hungry tyrants all believe that if you do something as minor as get god's name wrong, or do not worship him, you do not get into his loving kingdom, even worse you have to burn in a lake of fire for all eternity. Is this the real image and nature of a being so great and magnificent that created the awe inspiring universe, and life? Or is it a slanderous travesty against our creator ? Is god really so shallow and petty that he/she would punish you for not kissing his/her butt? Is it not a horrible sin to accuse God of being a egotistical power hungry tyrant ?

After thinking about this belief the thought occurred to me, that if god is like this, then being that most people have different religions, or are not religious at all 80% or so must be going to hell to burn. Now if this is true, what on earth is god doing creating human souls, that he knows will most probably end up burning in the worst of annoys for a whole eternity. My question is ‘why would god create us knowing we will most probably have to burn ?’ isn’t this the act of a homicidal, sadistic, maniac? If the laws of the after life are that the "none believers" will burn in hell, then why doesn’t "he" stop creating humans, and put a stop to the continuous creation of souls? Why does he continue to help Satan’s fire burn?

If god knew when he created souls that most of them would burn in hell, why o why did he create them in the first place, all he is doing is fuelling the fires of hell, and giving his enemy Satan more satisfaction, being its god that is making the logs, knowing he is making them for Satan, and to fuel Satan’s fire. If this is so, god and Satan must have some kind of business agreement, and must love each other, as they seem to both complement each other, god gets all the ones that worshipped him, and Satan gets all the ones that worshipped him, by not worshipping god, what a bizarre notion of enemies.

Why cant these religious extremists spot these huge flaws and contradictions ?

And also if this is the nature of the after life, may I ask a question I have asked before 'What if you are a good believing Christian, Muslim, or Catholic ect, and your child that you love and adored, picked the wrong religion, and you went to heaven, but God sent your beloved child into hell, to burn the worst type if agony’s known for all eternity, could you go to heaven knowing that the god you are now with sent your child into hell, could you look that god in the eye?’ I do not know about you, but if god sent my children, that I loved, into hell to burn, I could not be anywhere near him/her.

Please stop slandering Jesus, Allah and the other great religious leaders, as cold tyrants it Pi*ses me off.

Hell is not a made up idea. It was seen by the very same prophets who saw Heaven. From Jesus showing a disciple hell, to Enoch seeing Heaven and hell, Moses, Ezra, etc.

historically speaking, hell was created by the church as a tool to prevent people from leaving the church. (scare them into submission, if you will)

Ashley I never said hell is made up, i said the idea that god is so cruel that he/she would send poor human souls in to a "fiery hell" is made up. I said the idea that people get sent to hell for not believing in a certain religion is made up.

Ashley I do not know how to brake the news to you, so maybe you might want to take a seat, if you are not all ready seated. Just because it says it in some books, doesn’t make it so, there are a billion and one books in the world, and they all claim different things, it doesn’t make them so either.

I believe in a place one might call "hell" but its not fiery and hot, quite the opposite its dark, cold, and lonely. Hell to me is being void of the god light.

No it wasn't. It's in texts as ancient as those that make up the OT.

On top of that, there are as many people who see hell in NDE's as there are tht see 'Heaven', or any white light.

I say 'Heaven' because half the time what they are seeing isn't Heaven at all.

Before anyone goes anywhere, for the first three days you have to watch you entire life, movie like, but in 'time-travel' mode, where you are there, seeing yourself in 3rd person, watching the mistakes of your life. From then, those events are brought forward by the Irin, and the Qaddism, judgement angels, one side for you, the other, accusing angels, against, which bring your case before God. After that it is decided where you go.

When people see hell in an NDE, it's a warning. Then you get sent back. It's just not your time.

What you're talking about Faeden isn't hell, it's Sheol/pergatory. The middle ground. The place people go to before Heaven and after hell. They are transitional.

Most people end up in Sheol, before ever reaching Heaven.

If you want to be an athiest, then you believe in nothing, so there's really no say here or there (or, rather, there shouldn't be). But when you actually do believe in God, you have to take the whole territory, both sides of the story, not just pick parts out that you don't like.

My eyes, ears and mouth are open my friend, and I intend to use them, instead of believing something just because some money hungry angry man on a podium told me to in a church I actually study the afterlife, rather than just take a power obsessed mans word for it

Ashley I have never heard of anyone have a NDE and say they saw fire and brimstone only darkness, but most are positive ones. Didn’t you say a while back you had a NDE, and that it was not of the nicest in nature ?

I think the only people that would have a vision of fire and brimstone in a NDE are religious fundamentalists and extremists, that where obsessed with the idea of a fiery hell…. Ironic that....

Hell to me, is for the ignorant, its your hell you burn in it LOL

Well it’s my personal opinion but here goes.

If He brought you into existence He certainly has every right to take you out of it!

Unless you’re pleading your defense as insanity, you would have to give recognition first to the judge/God(for providing salvation) and jury(The word of God) and your defense council/Jesus.(For actualy going to hell for you).
This recognition is a very small price to pay.

Isn’t it a while ago you where telling me that I had made you question some things, and that you could feel god telling you that I was telling the truth ? Has that opinion changed ? i have to agree with faeden. your comments did indeed sound very judgemental (not to mention it sounded like you enjoyed the idea of watching others roast in a fire-pit).

Anyway, why would you so strongly believe that any creature would do such a thing as eternal roasting? Those that say this is true and say their god is all loving are contradicting themselves. Unless of course to love is to torment.

and i didnt mean to sound judgmental.. i was actually makin a joke... sorry... and God is all loving... look at all he has done to give us a way out of hell.... adam and eve messed it all up at the beginning, but then God gave us a way out of it then, the people still messed it up, and he sent jesus, giving us an even easier way out of hell... so, whats next? the only thing left is to end it all and start all over again.... hence the end times, but that is a different thread.

historically, what was next was he sent muhammed and gave the world his next message (if you believe in one prophet, you must accept them all - otherwise you are just picking the parts you like )

Physicians, priests, philosophers and kings I think would have known how to write but shepherds, farmers, tent-makers and fishermen I don't think so. They would have to have told it to someone and who is to say that they did not do some editing.

It was indeed passed down orally, especially the first part of the Old Testament. It was a stricly oral history for several hundred years, which is one reason it has so many myths similar to those of other, more ancient, religions.

And the gospels were passed around for a few years before being committed to paper. I believe the earliest wasn't written down until about 60-70 years after Jesus supposedly was killed.

Yes, I can list a few of the similar myths if you want and some sources for dates of the gospels.

(oh, and just an aside, there were originally over 50 gospels considered for NT, but other years have been whittled down over the years by moinks, scribes and people in power to the 4 currently in the commonly accepted Bible.)

could it possibly be because they said the SAME THING??? what would have been the point in putting books in the bible that said the same thing? i honestly think we needed only one gospel.. it would have had the same meaning.
