Okie this is a question kinda weird but i am going to ask it see what yall think...

I believe in Jesus definitly.. Here is my question to you guys...

Say there is an option to meet jesus, but your not sure if he really did exisst or not you just believe in him, so your not fully sure is he was real.. The only way to find out is to spend 5min in hell re-living your worst nightmres over and over again to take the chance to meet jesus, now if he exsists he will replensh your thoughts and the 5min of hell never happened, but if he dosent exsist and you took the chance to meet him, and went thru the 5min of hell reliving your worst ngiht mares and they stuck with you forever, would you do this? would u spend the 5min of your worst ngihtmares over and over again to see if jesus exsisted? if he dosent then you will relive it for the rest of your life, if he does exsist you will be replenshed from those evil thoughts.... it is definilty a gamble... Does anyone believe in him that much to take the chance to do something like that? .. i definitly believe in him, but that is soo risky haha, im not sure if id wanna do that, and take that chance... what do yall think, can wait to here from ya...
Typical_Cat
Did you ever stop to think about people of other religions before asking this question? I'm sure you don't mean it to be insulting or disrespectful, but there are people who are spiritual/religious outside of Christianity. I don't belong to any but I wanted to say something.

Also, the whole "gambling" aspect of your question is just a modern, ultra-quick, instant gratification thing. Isn't the whole question of whether god exists or not the same gamble? You just have to wait (supposedly) until you die to find out. All you want to do is take a chance to get that same answer in five minutes as opposed to your whole lifetime.

Anyway, I guess it's an interesting question but not that well thought out really.

Peace
LucidElement
dont mean to offend anyone, its just a stupid quesiton.. im sorry was just curious to see what yall would say
Richdog
It was an odd, yet harmless question, don't worry about it.

But surely if you're talking about Hell as your christian definition of it... then if that exists Jesus surely must anyway?
Walken
Richdog is right. rolleyes.gif

Avoiding all contradictions in the OP, I'd go through hell.
Consummate Deist
Easy answer, since I am absolutely sure that Jesus, as Christians perceive him never existed, (Jesus the Rebel Leader or Jesus the Rabbi might have possibly existed, but not a man god) and since I have no belief that a loving Creator would punish those that fall short of perfection with an eternity of torment, I would have to answer that this question has no bearing on reality and must be filed under the heading “Mythology and other Wild Dreams”! Why do Christians assume that non-Christians are any less certain of their beliefs than Christians? Christianity and Judaism are relatively young religions, adherents of the older religions have believed in their deities and spiritual leaders for millennia and are as certain as any Christian that they follow the true path to salvation! Please, refrain from insulting us with your inconsiderate questions - CD thumbsup.gif

I find it rather interesting that the OP states:

QUOTE

And again:

QUOTE
.. i definitly believe in him, but that is soo risky haha, im not sure if id wanna do that, and take that chance...

Sounds like someone's faith is not as strong as he/she/it claims.

As to the original question, Yes I would spend the 5 minutes in Hell. It would prove the existence or not of a higher power once and for all. At least from my personal POV
Richdog
Its just a young kid form the sounds of it (I should hope anyway), don't be too hard on the guy.

oh get a grip, its a simple question, yet another example of poilitical correctness gone mad

plus if i was a hindu (which i am not) i cud still answer this question, coz if i chose to risk it and "see" jesus and he was real, then i wud know that my religion wasnt

anyway, to answer the main question....no i wudnt

coz wen i die i will find out if he is real or not, therfore i am prepared to wait. that way i know the truth wivout going thru my worst nightmares

hope that made sense x
LoVer_Of_GoD
i would do it...

man, CD, u could have been a little nicer, couldnt you?
TheBlueDragon
I would not have to do it because i know that he is there!

Q. why would you spend 5min in hell when if you just wait till your time comes you will know, without the horrible time in hell?
LoVer_Of_GoD
who knows...

If you questioned Jesus's/God's existance enough that you would go through Hell just to find out, then is that really belief? Faith is based on things we don't see with our eyes, believing without seeing. I wouldn't go through Hell to "prove" his existance to myself, because I already believe fully that he is real.

Why wait for death even, to "know" if he is real? If you wait that long, then it'de already be to late. Believe because you want to believe, don't ask for "proof" from God, when he has already given it to you through signs. Do you read your Bible?

Possibly, but he could have not asked such a "loaded" question too!
QUOTE
Do you read your Bible?

I don't own one, but have read it quite extensively (like Mako) and find it to be naught more than Semitic mythology. Have you ever studied the origins of your religion? Have you ever read Origen, Lucian, Celsus and others? You might get a shock if you did! Someday when I have time, I will post excepts for them! - CD thumbsup.gif

You're 20? heh, too much time playing football and not enough school then. grin2.gif

It was a simple, harmless question. Why even post in this thread if the question does not pertain to you?

Nope, I would never do that.

why does anyone of another religion matter? this is about jesus, nobody else. if you don't believe in him, then don't answer. there is no disrespect shown what so ever. and even if there was, get over it, it's just words on an internet forum. i am an atheist, but i still think the fact you would even bring that up is sad. you cannot be overly PC these days, wow.

Ummm, there is an option to meet Jesus, and we don't need to go through hell to have it (of course, you'd have to also make the assumption that hell is a place where you relive your worst nightmares).

But if I had to, the simple answer would be "Yes", I'd go through 5 minutes of hell.

Until next time,

CROR
This question illustrates how badly some people think and deduce logic!

The initial question was perfrectly legitimate (expect grammer and spelling or course). It stated at the very first part of the question:

"Say there is an option to meet jesus, but your not sure if he really did exisst or not you just believe in him, so your not fully sure is he was real.. "

It is a hypothetiocal question with an initial starting condition as described above. All reponses such as: "what about buddha etc" or "i know jesus exists 100%" are totally ignoring the question.

the question consists of

If you fulfilled criteria 1 (above) what would your respose be to situation A

Please people try and remain sensible without jumping to conclusions and misundertanding things

maybe we shouldn't be too critical...

To answer the question: Yes

I don't believe in God although I do believe in Jesus as it happens, and I'd love to have a wee chat with him original.gif

5 minutes of hell? That's nothing. I've spent half an hour before on a bus packed with schoolkids in blistering hot weather......ohmy.gif wink2.gif

Welcome CROR, I was only pointing out that in your critical analysis of someone elses spelling, you made a few errors too. Although i do agree that spelling and grammar are indicators about the person, i also try to consider the content... assuming its legible.

CROR
sorry i think you misunderstand me:

I know my spelling is awful and punctuation almost non existent (always saves time), it was a mere whimsical jibe. provided i can understand the contents of someones posts, i give little regard to the ability to spell and punctuate. unless its a formal document. teh majority of spelling errors in particular are time saving non corrected typos (in my opinion)
whitewitch
Ive been through more than 5 mins of hell to discover the truth of all things, I can assure you. and it wasnt Jesus I found, or a christian god. I found Love, the TRUE meaning of love.......
saucy
what is the true meaning of love whitewitch?

I put all my faith in Jesus Christ, so much so that I would be willing to spend an eternity in hell if He never existed yes.gif
whitewitch
I believe Jesus did preach the true meaning of love, but I think religion has bent the true meaning out of all recognition. Unconditional love for everyone AND the natural world is what I believe in. The Universal Light. x wub.gif

whitewitch
its just another word for Unconditional Love for everything, positive energy etc etc etc etc etc
