STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - A rubber duck sat in a dog's stomach for five years before being removed by Swedish vets last week, a local newspaper said on Tuesday.



The owner of the Apollo the Boxer dog assumed the toy had dissolved in his stomach over the years as it had not come out any other way, Daily paper Lanstidningen said.


But the owner, from the northern Swedish town of Ostersund, took the animal to a vet when it began vomiting and refused to drink and the toy was removed.

when you have a dog and something goes missing, don't you usually suspect the dog? I had a dog that ate everything....kleenexes, toys, even a tube of lipstick once. Maybe I was just lucky enough to see the evidence eventually. Poor pup.

Poor dog... *secretly wonders if either of his two dogs will eat a rubber ducky * jk... Thats just a bad owner for allowing that duck in the dogs stomach for so long. I mean, it couldn't have been comfortable.

I have a dog that eats everything in sight. Usually it finally is pooped out though.

My dogs the same, he runs off with anything he can find and chews it to pieces.

This sounds more like the dog swallowed the duck whole.

The owner should have been far more responsible and had it removed long ago!
