Alrighty I am going to ride my bike down to the graveyard with my Kodak 3.2 Mega Pixel Digital Camera. I am going to take pictures and see if i get an orb or ghost... I will update this with the image sometime within the next 20 min! Wish me luck.... the sun is setting...Ohhhh spooooooooky original.gif

Sry Guys I came up flat except one....I thought it was nothing until I noticed red flares all around a shiny part of the fence behind a gravestone!!! I still dont think it is anything conclusive here it is:

Hoagy
hmm, can't really tell what it is, maybe a lens flare?

Where is the cemetary? what state are you in?
JohnnyBoyC
i am in massachusettes as you can see, this is an acient cemetary near the woods no one has been buried in it since 1890 the oldest grave i found was 1611. I dont think it was a lens flare.... I dont know what it is i WAS gunna say i came up with nothing but hey i looked at that one more carefully and i noticed that stuff.
rayce
Very interesting. The one in the tree is actually partially covered by a branch. It is very pixelated so it is kinda hard to tell. Did you zoom into a small section of the original picture? If not, I recommend raising the resolution on your camera before you go out next.

I'm glad to see you've admitted this picture isn't proof of "ghosts", but how can you even submit that picture? It's nothing remotely paranormal, let alone something to point out. It's a metallic fence which is shiny in the first place. Then when you add a camera flash into the picutre, that's what you get.

Welcome to the forum btw... Keep taking picutres.
thumbsup.gif
rayce
It doesn't look to me like a camera flash was used. It could be a flare caused by sunlight. Here is an example of a sunlight lens flare that I took...

Lens Flare from Sunlight

The only thing about that is the one back in the trees looks as though it is behind some branches and a lens flare would not do that. I also don't see any bright sunlight.

Can you tell us more about the conditions that this was taken in Johnny? What time of day? Was the sun setting or out in full? Did you use a flash or natural lighting?

Inquiring minds want to know wink2.gif
JohnnyBoyC
certainly. The picture was uploaded to the computer at 5:50:32sec exactly so that means it was taken at 5:45. The sun was up it was not dusk so the sky was still blue with no sunset yet. In fact the sun is setting now at 7:45 so it was light out. I used camera flash. And i know that the shiny part isnt a ghost i just caught the red lights. Anything else?
ForRizzle
Go at like 3:30 at night to take ghost pictures. Not in the day!
Elfstone810
That's probably past his curfew, FR.

Anyway, Jonnyboy, don't be discouraged. Some of the best ghost pictures in history have been taken during the daytime. I recommend taking pictures in places that have a reputation and I think the best time to go would be on a sunny but not too hot morning after it's rained the night before. I say "sunny but not too hot" because you want low humidity to keep from having water vapor and/or droplets show up and I say "after it's rained" because the rain will keep the dust down. Make sure your lens is clean, set your camera to its best resolution, pay attention to where the sun is in relation to what you're shooting, and take pictures from different camera angles.

And have fun! That's the main point of the exercise. thumbsup.gif
Fable
Good try, but yes all it is the reflection of the light off the fence. The lens on the camera caught the sun's reflection and it resulted in the other "flare" of red light towards the top.

Sun/Light + Digital Photography + Paranormal Activity = Something like water and oil, they don't mix together at all.

Hi all. There is probably, as most people are saying, nothing paranormal about the original post, but I enlarged it anyway, and now I can see a face in the blur. I have attached the enlargement - I haven't done this on a post here before so hopefully it came out ok (I hope it was ok to enlarge the image and re-post it)??[attachmentid=13905]

You'll get pictures but I'd be suprised if hey were ghosts. 300-400 am is the high noon for malevolent spirits. Its when they are are there worst and most active.

And why is that? Im curious

According to the Warrens:

'New truths, new discoveries, can sometimes only be found through dangerous encounters. We as hunters of ghosts are visible. We are tangible. We are vulnerable. The ghost has the upper hand for it can see what we do not, it can hear what we cannot. It can perform feats we cannot. The ghost can come to us any time it wants. It strikes when the time is most opportune for it to do so (usually the psychic hours of the night between 9:00 P.M. and 6 A.M.). '

Just from my personal experiences with investigations I do not believe that there is anything special about certain hours of the night. It is no more true then the statement that ghosts only come out on night. I believe it to be a myth. Most of the evidence that is gathered out there is hours before 3am most before midnight. Do ghosts follow our calender what about day light savings time / leap year? I know some people believe that the 3-4am or 12-4am are the only hours that you can experience heavy paranormal activity but that just makes no sense at all. I do not doubt that a lot of activity can happen during this time just like any other time but if the person is expecting to experience something during the witching hours then they most likely will even if its not really there. I respect the Warrens commitment to the field but I think they over dramatize things that sometimes make ghost hunting out to sound like something its not.

JohnnyBoy,

I have to agree with littleprincess, you HAVE photographed a spirit!

I can clearly see a face, it has type of angular features and is looking slightly to "his" right.

Spirits do not have a preferred time of day to show themselves, time is of no inportance to spirit people.

No offence but it sounds like some of the people that have replied to your post have been watching to many scary movies, that potray spirits as being "night" roamers. I have taken a number of photos of spirits and they have all been taken in broad daylight in the middle of the day!!

You can see a pic of mine in another post, its titled I SHARE MY HOME WITH SPIRITS.

I have no doubt.

Tamara xx

I just had another look at your photo, the spirit in the photo lived a long time ago and he has an "armour" helmut on, he was some sort of "fighter".

I talk to them all the time. They are not mindless drones like some people make them out to be. If you treat them with respect then they will treat you with respect. Asking them to come around and be in your photos can help. Think of this,

When you are somewhere and see a stranger about to take a photo do you run in front of the camera or do you step back to make sure you do not get in frame? I always step back as I don't want to ruin their pictures. Of course there are different kinds of spirits some are not aware of us etc. A spirit that is aware of you may do the same and avoid the camera unless you let it know that you are there to take some photos and that they are welcome to be in the photographs.

i went back to search thearea where i shot that photo. I found what it was...
It was a reflective piece of ribbon representing a property boundry. I am kinda dissapointed. But when i get the chance I will go back to the area and take more photos!

I would love to know why people assume ghosts will pop out of graves all the time. Spirits do not stay with the dead and discarded body, surely. I always found graveyards very peaceful places, not something to be frightened of at all.

Not all spirits will stick around their dead body. Now there are a lot of ideas on why a cemetery would be haunted but the one that to me makes the most since is that when you die if you are not willing to cross over but do not have any solid connection to a house or family member etc you will stick around your body as it is a symbol of life to you. You are basically afraid of dieing therefore you stay with what was life. I do not think there is one simple answer to why cemeteries are haunted but the fact is they are. I have found several cemeteries that after dozens upon dozens of investigations they appear not to be haunted. These are normally smaller and older cemeteries. Perhaps with time they learn to release their fear and can move on.

Visiting a very old grave yard with my grandparents when I was quite young, I asked my grandfather what the rails around the graves were (they were very old). Being a real joker, he told em that it was to keep the dead bodies in if they tried to escape! What a thing to tell a child, I was terrified. tongue.gif
