What songs really freak you out?
Personally..the song that always creeped the hell outta me was number 9 by the beatles...I don't know why...It just always did...and some songs by bread...for some odd reason certain bread songs will make me bawl my eyes out, I swear I can feel his pain......

I don't know if it counts as spooky but whenever I here anything by any 70's folk singer like John Denver or Bobby Goldsboro I get an almost supernatural urge to hurl my stereo out the window..

"American Pie" by Don Henley (?). I mean, if you think about the lyrics, some of them are obvious cultural references but the thing as a whole doesn't really mean anything, and yet it sort of resonates, like it's touching cords in my subconscious.

lol john denver always reminds me of those ventriloquist (sp?) mannequins you use when you want to throw your voice... now...where do you put your hand?
i think falling.. the theme song from twin peaks.. although i cant remember the name from the artist who sings it, is a wee bit on the spooks side
there is also a chris isaak (hubba hubba) song.. its very similar to the theme song from twin peaks... im pretty sure that they used it

Yeah, one of their best songs tho, but yeah, that is creepy.
Shaving My Neck by the Virgin Prunes is also an odd one too...
I think Spiderman by The Cure ranks up there with creepy ones too, it almost like an audible experience of Silence of the Lambs...(Hannibal Lecter creepy)

Not a big Buddy Holly fan, but I still love American Pie, gorgeous song. Not really scary to me, though.
Marilyn Manson ahs a good song, Suicide is Painless. It has kinda weird piano music in the background. And Scarborough Fair by Simon and Garfunkel, very haunting and creepy.

I agree totally. John was one of the best songwriters and performers and was certainly unique.
Hotel California by the Eagles has got my vote as the creepiest song. I can't stand listening to it--have to change the radio immediately. Also creepy is Don't Fear the Reaper (I forgot the artist) but I like the sound of the song, anyway.

Yeah, "Don't Fear the Reaper" is BOC...
Real creepy songs..."The Thing That Should Not Be" and "The Call of Ktulu" by Metallica, "Burnt Offerings" by Iced Earth..."Insignificant" by Nevermore, and "Anna Lee" and "Peruvian Skies" by Dream Theater. Those last two songs are about child abuse and are just very, very sad. Damn good, though.

Tool's Schischm(sp) or however its spelt. The music video creeps me out, but the song fits it so well that they are both one in the same. It takes me to hell. The song that most of you would define as creepy I love because its like a cult chant its so awesome. We Will Fall by Iggy And The Stooges, verrrry classic. On a new note, HOOOW can any Sisters Of Mercy song scare you?! Hahaha.

Strange Fruit by Billie Holiday is one that is very haunting to me.
As a child, In-A-Gadda-Da-Vidda used to scare the S**t of me. The long version.
Mary Jane's Last Dance-Tom Petty is a bit creepy even for a mortician like me. LOL

LMAO, anything that makes me want to puncture my own ears (John Denver isn't handy anymore or I would puncture his or sew his mouth shut.) with what ever blunt instrument I can't stop the pain with, is scary to me.
But then again I have been called tone deaf and couldn't carry a tune in dump truck, so what do I know.

I would have to say Triad by Tool, off of their "Lateralus" album.
Just the music is pretty freaky. And you can occasionally hear screams in the background.
