"the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23)

Ultimately, the effects of sin result in our own deaths. On a purely physical level first, but more importantly, our eternal souls as well. In the Old Testament, people would offer the blood of an animal (lamb for example) to atone for their sins. It was either that or offer their own blood....

In the New Testament, the sacrifice offered was the blood of Jesus. That's why Jesus is refered to as the "Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world" (John 1:29)

That's why Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No-one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). Jesus was the sacrificial lamb given for our sins.

What many do not realise is this is human sacrifice.

A thirst for blood maybe.

don't many of the followers skirt around that issue though by claiming jesus was god incarnate. The all-powerful sacrificed himself to himself for you?

You mean they try to ignore that aspect of it?

I have to say that I absolutly do not understand why a God would ask for a sacrifice....

sacrifice for what?

to me sacrifice is when you sacrifice yourself or somethings you have to protect those you love. To sacrifice something else or someone else for that end for me does not make any sense. I strongly believe we should all take responsibility for our actions, thus we make some sacrifice in our futur to learn from past mistake. To sacrifice someone else in our fear of our own lives is for me not spiritualy advance.

then what is sacrifice that they speak of in certain religion? is their God blood thirsty? If so I do not understand. their is deaths each day, I would imagine he has enough. Even how can a loving and very wise being has any wish to be blood thirsty. If he is then he is for me not so wise and loving.

For me its sounds like a human fear of these higher beings, beings full of anger and these sacirfices to appease them.

Could all these sacrifice really be God's demand or humand misundersanding of what is really going on.

If sacrifice is indeed what God wants, then I would love to hear a clear explaination because for me it does not hold any sense for a pure and loving, wise, all knowing being huh.gif
