Thats the PSX, not the PS3. But its cool, looks like the PS3 will come better than we think...hopefully.

i like that design, why didnt america get it? i remember the ps2 "spy shots" showed a console with a LED display on the cd door, that displated the game title and stats...pretty cool idea
Fable
Yeah, those are all great pictures. Personally, I prefer the third one the most.. it would be really great to see a system made like that. But until the official pictures come out, it's good to speculate.

Its not that long until E3 and Sony are rumoured to unveil their new console a few days before the convention so hopefully we will know what the PS3 really does look like sooner rather than later!

i seriously think a system should be developed where instead of a new console comming out every 5 years, you get upgrades as well for the current console every year or so, that way your system would always be the number 1 in graphics and power...i mean you would have no worries about competitors comming out with more powerful machines because you as the developer can just develop new software/hardware to accomodate the difference, where as the new competition would not be able to. just like a computer the system could have removable graphic cards and processors
riotboy555
I think the first picture is the actual PS3.
BurnSide
Yes it is, this is an old topic.
LucidElement
isn't the first one going to be the real one though used?
BurnSide
Okay, riotboy just said 'isn't the first picture the actual PS3?' and i told him it was.

AND THEN, you ask if the first one is going to be the real PS3. What didn't you get??

ya i agree, i dont really feel like buying a new console every 5 years i just wanna stick with one and wish it just be upgraded or so
Super Pancake
Why would you want to pay $50 - $200 to upgrade a video game system, every time a new chip or drive come out. Think about it, new technology is always upgrading at a fast rate, but what you get out of it will make a small difference from what you got.

It's like a pc, I only upgrade when I know I will get two to three times the power and that only occurs every 9 months to 2 yrs, whats the point of getting a processor that goes at 2 ghz to replace one that goes 1.9 ghz, you won't notice the difference and applications won't be suited for it, because the standard is still 1.9 ghz, because almost nobody is going to upgrade. It would be wiser to just buy a new powerful system every couple of yrs then just wasting money upgrading every two or three months for new expensive technology that is slowing evolving.
