About 2 hours ago I got bored and started browsing the internet for freaky stuff, I came across EVP. I thought hey this sounds like a bit of fun and is probably bull. So I got my phone and left it running for 9 minutes give or take. When playing it back I got this really wierd sound, I cant say its a voice, but it lasts about 2-3 seconds and its on the beggining of the recording.
I cant identify whatever it is anyway... Anyone had something similar?

I don't suppose there's any way you could load it into your computer and download it to here?

well its on my pc but its 9 mins and the speaking lasts from 57 secs to 1 min in the actual recording. It also only plays on quick time or real player.... I could send it to you if you have msn and a quick pc.

A quick PC I have..MSN on the other hand screws my computer up royally for some reason, so I removed it..Too bad; I would have liked to hear it..Even though most EVP "voices" are open to individual interpretation, some are quite strange and interesting..

nvm then, but if anyone else wants ill send it. Its probably nothing, the thing is it's just that the noise you can hear can't have come from anything I was doing. Maybe it was just radio waves or something.

EVP is real.... definitly... if you go to www.ghostpix.com you willl think otherwise!!! very interesting guys!!! read it!!

yeah ive been on that site, I am reluctant to trust internet evp sites though as they have little proof of sources. Apparently it doesn't matter where you go or what time, unless a place is haunted or something.
Its probably down to hearing what I want to hear, but the second thing the 'voice' says sounds like boy. Its very weird. Especially because it fits in with other EVP examples- 2-3 seconds long and I cant really tell what it, if anything, is saying...

I have just done it again, monday.

But YOU have fun! hehehe

Thanks, but now I kind of wish I hadn't tried it. I have just done it again, it is almost addictive. Towards the end of this one the interference slowly rises and the quickens at the end, becoming very loud. You can hear a low crackling under the loud interference. creepy.

I dredged this up again because I have now converted and cut down the noise I recorded.
I don't think it is a ghost, but I can't explain it.

I have a good question.
Did the "spirit" recorded on the EVP happen to try to suggest to you that if you'd like to make a call, you should hang up and try again?

A couple of years ago a friend of mine and I went to an old cemetary several miles south of town and tried to record some EVP's. We were not entirely successful inasmuch as we didn't catch any voices, but, we did manage to get a 3-5 second long recording of what sounded like a frieght train. The nearest tracks are about twenty miles away but, the sound on the tape was loud, like it was right next to us.
We were using a General Electric Microcassette tape player/recorder. It was manufactured around 1990 and we used a new, blank tape. I haven't yet figured out how to load it onto the com but, when I do I'll post it for everyone here.

Im sure you heard "something", but it still sounds to me like another classic case of
Pareidolia.
The type of illusion or misperception involving a vague or obscure stimulus being perceived as something clear and distinct.
Under ordinary circumstances, pareidolia provides a psychological explanation for many delusions based upon sense perception.

EVP Is very real
http://www.worlditc.org/i_01_for_skeptics.htmThis phenomena has been researched to death and it's very very real.Real sceptics should try it themselves....but be prepared to have your beliefs challenged.
The more research anyone carries out on this the more they will realise how real it is.PYE Records carried out experiments in the 70's ..their technicians could not account for it.Experiments have been carried out in Faraday cages.....the voices still came...so no stray signals there.
Two vatican priests picked it up while recording gregorian chants ....They brought it to the pope and the vatican (reluctantly) had to agree that the phenomena was real.
The only real question with evp is not whether it is real or not but where are the voices coming from. The voices themselves claim in the most part to be from spirit....some have recorded voices claiming to be et's some have recorded voices claiming to be from other dimensions....I know it sounds crazy but any sceptics should really dig into some research on this subject...here are a couple of places to start.
www.worlditc.org
www.aaevp.com
A forum where ordinary people from all over the world experiment and share their results
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/grassharp/A college article on the subject...with more research links at the bottom
http://www.aaevp.com/articles/articles_about_evp6.htmStay away from the sensationalist sites whos names begin with "Ghost" there are plenty of real research sites available for this topic so try to keep to those.

Mr Ed. But Pareidolia can explain lots of paranormal sightings and anomalies described by many people on this forum.

Mr Ed,
I think you must be delusional or crazy - Cause I don't believe that you recorded some voice more like backround noise like outdoor noises, or your turning into a mad man!

Will someone please tell me what kind of Equipment I need to try to record Spirit Voices?
I know nothing about these kinds of things, but I speak to Spirits all the time and I can hear them speak to me in voice on Occassion and I have been wondering if I might be able to catch their voices on recording equipment.
I am doing research with the Spirits who want me to do these things and convince the World they are alive in the After Life and I feel that they will partcipate willingly in this Experiment and perhaps we can really prove something to skeptics.

All you need is a bog standard run of the mill tape recorder....(digital or magnetic) .
Check out www.worlditc.org and look under the section "getting started"...all you need to know is there.
Be sure to use new tapes and dont record anymore than 5 - 10 minutes at a time.5 minutes can take nearly half an hour to listen back to.
Best of luck ...start a new thread when you get going.

Turning into a mad man?
All I said is that it sounds like a voice, I didn't say it was a ghost lol.
