Even more bizarre is Beckjord's 'expert' analysis of the photo;
THE NEW MEADOWS IDAHO 1972 BIGFOOT PHOTO Facts,theories and speculations
Real or fake? Here is what we know - a 21 year old newspaper copy boy with name witheld was travelling from Ontario back to McCall with five family members, when they pulled over for a "pit stop" near New Meadows,Idaho. The date was Mar. 26,l972. The young man's brother had with him a simple Polaroid camera, B&W, and the two hiked up a hill about 200 yards when they saw a Bigfoot type creature. They got one shot that showed nothing much and then wasted three shots in mistakes, but finally got one shot of the creature as it went through the brush.
A number of tracks were found later by a team from a skeptical newspaper staff, the Daily Argus Observer. Their report came out April 7,l972. Several track casts were made by them, and the Sasquatch Research Project has a copy of one of them.
Despite intense questioning from the Argus staff, the young men stuck by their story, and did not ask for money nor to be identified.
OUR TAKE ON THIS STORY AND PHOTO
On the bad side, the 12 inch by 5 inch tracks are claimed to be pinched in the toes, which foot doctors say is a sign of a person who wore shoes. We will show this cast later in the site.
On the positive side, we are using our expertise in analyzing the Patterson Film of Bigfoot (l967) to look over this photo. The photo is very,very weird. There is a "ball of light" (BOL) on the being, on its thigh. This may be a ball of energy, as seen in some UFO photos and photos of other anomalies. You may disagree of course. As you watch the photo, remember this is ONLY 72 DPI! For full detail, visit the Museum in person, in real life (remember what that is...?). Further, on the shoulder of the creature, we find a very,very weird white face with spread-out "horns" or projections, and open, slanted eyes. This looks like just brush at first, but we feel it is part of a "travelling phenomena-group" that is part of the creature - a sort of "entourage". In, or on, the fur, we find numberous smaller ape and/or humanoid faces, similar to those we (maybe not you) find on the Patterson creature. There are others in the brush. This is no simple ape, nor a man in a suit.
We suspect it is a spiritual/paranormal travelling cluster of phenomena, and only the ape-man aspect is immediately seen to most people. Later, we will add enlargements of these weird details.
We point out that the family did not know where they would stop. Thus, nobody could hoax them. The young men never asked for fame nor money.
As for the feet ---- you may disagree, but we have a far-out theory:
We suspect some people sleep, dream, and "become Bigfoot", in their dreams. And the dream-creature takes a temporary life. And is seen. Makes marks and leaves tracks. A man who wears shoes, may dream this way, and his "body" and feet, take on aspects of his real life, including cramped toes.
You may now call us totally nuts. But, this is just a theory. If you watch X Files, it will make some sense.
Beckjord has a reputation for being one of the least reliable and/or credible researchers in the 'paranormal' field. Here's a link to his website, always good for a laugh or two;
