For the record, and I'm sure you're aware, all those pictures are thought to be hoaxes.

But anyway, I believe that Thunderbirds may have existed in Lower North America and South America right up until the early 1900's when their numbers dwindled and eventually died out.

There were tons of myths and stories told by the Indians, Aztecs and Mayans about giant flying lizards when such creatures hadn't been unearthed yet.

Conspiracy
the first gots to be real it is a skeleton tongue.gif but the other pictures are most likely hoaxes, until i see a giant flying lizard fly by me xD

It interesting to note that just about every culture has a variation of the Phoenix in their myths and legends.

Thunder bird pictures are very rare when compared to other types, such as LNM or Bigfoot. blink.gif

I'm not sure, but I've a feeling that the largest of those pictures (the one with the man and his foot on the beak) is actually real. It is hard for me to believe that each culture (most of them) have records of some type of flying bird, feathered and/or lizardlike. Several Thunderbird stories revolve around a bird that has the ability to create lighting and thunder with each flap of it's large wings, and I doubt that Teritorns{SP} and Teridactols{SP} (sorry I can't spell). But if there is even a slight chance of Nessie being a Plesiosour, then why not have living, flying 'dactols? (Though I personally believe Nessie is something else, more like a mammal).

Oh, and the dragons too, if every (most) culutre has their own way of seeing the dragon (etc) then why not the Pheonix or Thunderbird???
Undefined_innocence
I believe there can be such a bird still alive thses days. Liek it said, living somewhere remote where people dont wonder into too much. Or.. at all maybe. High altitude mountians and such. If they are real, they would be VERY rare. Hince the lack of fossil records proving them to be alive now.

well good, i thought atleast the fossil photo would be genuine...

i really can't see any Pterodactyls being able to survive this long without evidence to support it....big birds perhaps, but not Pterodactyls

Ignore this one, go to bottom one.
CrazyHarry
What are you talking about!?! They all over the place! Look there goes one now! I swear, tomany people like godzilla monsters... seeing them all over the place! laugh.gif BIRDY! And they ain't birds, they lizards, and I wanna punt one!
Falco Rex
Oddly enough, where I grew up there were at least three seperate incidents of people reporting something that looked like a Pterodactyl that I can recall just from my lifetime..
A couple of stories go back farther than that. It's hard for me to believe this is anything more then people drinking Drano; but it's fun to imagine a colony of Pterosaurs living in modern day Southeastern Massachussetts.. tongue.gif
CrazyHarry
w00t.gif I live in Massachuesets! Here birdies!
Falco Rex
Hey if you want to go hunting; all the stories I heard came from around Bridgewater.. tongue.gif

Bahamut_0
this reminds me that i saw in a very old dusty book that a slave was attacked by a pterodactyl-like creature in 1832
Conspiracy
There is a possibility a Pterodactyl could still be alive because if they were to stay in remote jungles and caves they could stay hidden from humans for a long time

how big were Pterodactyls?, they were the smaler type weren't they?

it ws the Pterodons that were the huge ones wasn't it....

i'm just curious as a smaller creature would have better chance of survival...

TheManWithNoName
I have a hard time believing that Pterodactyl still exist. I don't know may thats just me.

This link is for a news story about a woodpecker that was thought to be extinct being found in Arkansas, USA.

White Billed Woodpecker Not Extinct After All

My point being....it is not unusual for "extinct" species to be found alive & well, and for no evidence of their extistence to show up before they are sighted alive.
