I don't see how could this be a hippo. The eye does not much really, only the colour of the skin. If you look on the structure of the hippo head in the photo you see that the rest of the head would have been visible too. Watching the video, I have to say that this, looks more to me like a giant squid. I would not be surprised if the lake is connected to the sea and the thing was perhaps trapped in it. I am not sure how viable would that be in freshwater but this is no hippo.

if it was a hippo ud see the ear and u dont see any ears near the eye so it aint a hippo, and it cant be a whale cuz whale eyes are on the side of the face not the top, so if that was a whale wheres the rest of it?

there are bubbles coming from 'it' too, at the left point, suggesting nostrils? or that it at least breathes air...

ya it looks like a hippo cuz when they swim there head stays in 1 place and a sea monsters wlould probably go up and down sort of like a dolphin

to be honest it looks like model head, and for all we know there could be a guy swimming underneath, it does look somewhat artificial...

this is a weird video. Not really sure what to make of it. I can see the hippo thing but then again like Conspiracy said I think you'd see an ear or something. Cool video though.
