Cambodian Troops Quarantine Quan'sul
There has been a small outbreak of “zombism” in a small town near the border of Laos in North-Eastern Cambodia. Cambodian troops moved into Quan'sul after Malaria victims attack populace. The culprit was discovered to be mosquitoes native to that region carrying a new strain of Malaria which thus far has a 100 percent mortality rating killing victims in fewer than 2 days.
After death, this virus is able to restart the heart of it’s victim for up to two hours after the initial demise of the person where the individual behaves in extremely violent ways from what is believe to be a combination of brain damage and a chemical released into blood during “resurrection.”
Cambodian officials say that the outbreak has been contained and the public has no need to worry.
General Ary Serey had this to say, "We have obtained samples of this new virus and plan to learn how it starts the heart and other major organs of the deceased. We intend to use this to increase the quality of life for all."
US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice opposed the plan saying that the Cambodian government holds a great biological weapon and should destroy it immediately. Cambodian officials have yet to comment.
A United Nations team will be dispatched to Cambodia to confirm the safety of biological research in Cambodia.

It was linked to the original site, and since the site has now changed, the picture has also changed too. Coincidence, i wouldn't try and fool anyone with that picture that's just silly.

Although this is a joke, I think there is a type of worm that causes 'Sleeping Sickness' . It lays its eggs in water, and when people drink it, the worms hatch out. It is fatal, and before you die, you go into a deep coma, and the native Africans think it is the work of Zombies. Very interesting disease, I'll try to get something about it.

That would be the Haiti voodoo zombies. Not 'undead' but drugged into a trace-like state where the victim forgets everything about his entire life after waking up from a short coma, and becomes a slave of will to the one who drugged him/her.

What a story, thank you for sharing.

I read the title of this post and the first thing that came to mind was the movie (& imho a masterpiece),
"The Serpant and the Rainbow".The book/movie was based on a little known drug, (at the time) discovered in Haiti. When applied to it's victims (by inhalation or contact with mucous membranes), it incapacitates them because the drug paralizes the central nervous system, giving the impression of death. (no discernable pulse, pupilary reactions, etc...)
It's a hell of a movie and certainly one that provides a real life warning for those who may consider traveling to Haiti ; don't piss off the locals!

Indeed! While unconfirmed offically, i don't doubt that it's possible. They would drug tourists and use them as 'zombie' slaves on plantation fields. The victim would be in a constant state of mind-lock, basically having no thoughts of their own, only existing to do as they are told.
