Spooky 12th Century Prophecy on Pope

The first thing we want to say upfront is that what you are about to read has been widely dismissed as a hoax by religious scholars. That said, the world may soon end. Judgment day approaches. The clue? Pope Benedict XVI's rise to the papacy.

According to a 12th century Catholic prophecy by the Irish archbishop St. Malachy, who was recognized for his ability to see into the future, Pope Benedict XVI fits his description of the second-to-the-last pope before the Last Judgment, report Reuters and WorldNetDaily. The Bible says the Last Judgment is when God will separate the wicked from the righteous. Legend has it that St. Malachy was traveling to Rome in the year 1139 when he had a vision concerning the next 112 popes. Benedict XVI is No. 111 on that list. St. Malachy described pope No. 111 as the "Glory of the Olive."

Here's where you may have to stretch your imagination a bit to connect Benedict to an olive, although the Internet doomsayers seem to have had an easy enough time of doing this.
The-world-is-ending crowd points to this:
1. The choice of the name "Benedict" is a reference to the Order of Saint Benedict. A branch of this order is known as...are you ready? The Olivetans.
2. Benedict XVI chose his name in part to honor Pope Benedict XV, whom the new pope described as a "courageous prophet of peace." Get it? Olive branches have long been associated with peace.
3. During Palm Sunday celebrations this past March, then Cardinal Ratzinger was photographed holding olive branches and not palms.

Reuters notes that scholars have long dismissed St. Malachy's prophecy as nothing more than a propaganda attempt to influence a 16th century conclave. But those who believe are not swayed by this. They insist that Pope John Paul II fits Malachy's description of pope No. 110, who was supposed to be "of the labor of the Sun." Turns out that Pope John Paul II was born on the day of a full solar eclipse and died on the same day as a partial eclipse.

And that brings us to the last pope in Malachy's vision, pope No. 112. He is supposed to be Peter the Roman, who will lead the Catholic church before "the formidable judge will judge his people." Since Pope Benedict XVI is 78 years old, it is presumed his reign will not be long. And then we will welcome the last pope and the Last Judgment. Did that give you goose bumps?

Interesting........but I don't really buy into prophicies much....except for a few. But not " Last Judgment" apocolypse type prophicies.

There are already several threads on this subject in both the Spiritualism Vs Scepticism forum, as well as a few others. Perhaps you might want to check them out.

No, as christian I'd like to think at least I am somehow prepared. And then there's always death and not the last but 9851583215725435th judgement grin2.gif. If you believe nothing is indestructible then that prophecy shouldnt bother you at all.

If you get into end time bible prophecy like I have, you will realize that the catholic church plays a part in it. Rome and the Vatican will serve as the dominate religion that tries to rule the anti-Christ and gets its way for awhile, then is destroyed when it's purpose is fulfilled. It's basically used by the anti-Christ and then done away with. The prophecy in the bible mentions the city with seven hills (Vatican?) and is seen burning from sea. It is freaky because a few college friends and I were talking about end time events and believe that the catholics are leaning closer and closer to the New Age Movement and they elected a pope (Benedict the 16th) who is older and won't last but a few years, in hopes to elect a younger, more influential pope, one that is better suited for the 21st century. I also believe that this pope is the last before the next pope, who is known as the false prophet in the bible.

This is interesting.

I do believe in prophecy, but this one all just depends on if the catholic church is following St. Malachy's works.

Wow I'm freaked out now...
Too many judgement days are coming up. The Mayan calender says there will be one in 2011 or something like that, but there's only one thing that makes me wonder........ Visit my thread that I'll open up in a few minutes.

They missed a Pope. There was another Pope who was in for 3 days (many, hundreds of years ago) which doesn't get counted by the Vatican. This means Benedict is th 266th and not th 265th.

*wipes forhead*

Wait- why was he only for 3 days, then???
TaintedDoughnuts
but does every pope fit the descriptions that malachy gave?

The only problem with Malachy is that he totally missed the Popes of the "Babylonian Exile"...That in itself negates his veracity! rolleyes.gif

If the world ends very soon then why have hundreds of thousands of lightworkers come here for nothin' mad.gif

If it all goes soon then I'm wasting my pretty butt amongst some stoooopid people when I could be somewhere else in the galaxy savin' a worthwhile species! rofl.gif

O by-the-way, you can expect some strange happenings within the next two months as a 'supposed' second coming is on it's way. Psychic voices of 'Jesus', Mohammed and others. Don't get freaked, you're the masters on this planet (when you wake up and stop believing in religion!!)

Sooooo, ask yourself why are the Intergalactic federation of lightworkers here?

I don't have rational reason to believe in prophecy so I make some amusement with "coïncidences" grin2.gif

1°) The new Pope was elected on the 13th day before the Witches' high sabat of Beltaine, and his first full day in office as Pope Benedict XVI was on Adolph Hitler's birthday.

2°) The name Ratzinger was originally spelled with an "S" rather than with a "Z" (Independent Catholic News, July 19, 2001, Rome, Italy). This is important to note because Revelation, chapter 13, tells us that the mark of the beast is the number of a man's name, and in the English alpha-numeric code of A=6, B=12, C=18, and so on though Z, Ratsinger equals 666.

3°) His exact place of birth was Marktl am Inn, which carries the connotation of mark of the beast and no room for them in the inn. His parents were named Mary and Joseph!

4°) He is the first Pope to be elected in the New Age of Aquarius, the 11th sign of the zodiac. This is important to the Illuminati, upper-level Freemasons, and high-level traditionalist witches. Traditionally, there 108 stars in the sign of Aquarius.

what happens if i kill the so called pope No. 112. or "peter the roman" will i stop apocalypse? gunsmilie.gif

I don't no why we just don't get younger popes, atleast the world would last a bit longer........................
Lord Umbarger
What if the next pope is 13 years old. Then we could figure on a top end of about 67 years before the "end". Personally, I don't really believe in all this about the end of the world and Jesus coming back. If the next pope is the end of anything it could just as well be the church that ends. Being Jewish, I don't think that it would affect my beliefs very much at all.
