Hello everyone, this should make it into the printed section,eh? I just want to introduce myself, squarecircle. I am a real fan for UM and anything related to paranormal. I'm just an old, pot smoking hippy, from the sixties, spun out kind of spiritual poser-dude...don't know much. Got one or two tricks, but that don't pay for anything anymore. Hey, been reading all these postings, really cool. You folks seem to cut it up, in style...wish I knew computer-ese more. Anyway, The real seed of thought here, is that I feel sometimes like this whole world is getting way too uneasy, too tense, too something not cool. Yet, I see those barbarians that some call "our leaders", and their nonsense...their mischief, their outright theft of our country, our constitution, our whole sense of liberty ( not to mention justice, peace, and real Democracy ) and I want to run and hide! You can run, but you caint hide opey! So, what else is new. I try to center myself, usually do, drink far too many sumatra's to think anymore. But it is this overwhelming sea of information, dis-information, that information, pop-up information, useless & useful information...etc etc. that really gets to me sometimes! Jeezus, to think Dulce is real! To ponder the dragon species trip! To think about underground tunnels...ufo bases, little grey people all over snatching folks! Eeeh, what a trip! Yet, sports fans, I was a hippy...ate thar acid, smoked thar reefer, dropped thar mush'zooms etc. etc.....and yes, I saw three different UFO's, that weren't fake, flying ballons, swamp gas or a hallucinations....I know they are real. I had some good times, eating mescalline looking for bigfoot, in the San Andreas..angels crest.

First of all welcome to the net(UM), secondly where the hell did you go man? We needed more people like you with a conscience to not turn on, tune in and drop out back in the sixties or we wouldn't be in this mess. Without people like you to hold the fort those straight edges completed the takeover of the free world. There were no gaurds at the gates cause all the good sentinels were gettin high on haight-asbury. Thank you all for your comments. Some thoughts to ponder, the one that strikes me the most is the not-so-harsh speech about where did people like me go? Like I was supposed to save the world? I could only do what I could do, without any thanks, recognition or a pat on the back...how much is too little, and how much is too much effort? Look around you, world is pretty fried, but then too, it has ALWAYS been fried, not just in my time. No, it started a couple days before me. Like the salem witch trials, was I there? Like when they cut, chopped and burned all across the centuries, was I there? Why poke responsibility of saving the planet, onto my shoulders? What you gonna say when the children, after you, ask the same thing about you? What will you say. Always the younger generation blames the one before ( hey sounds like lyrics to a song)....you can't lay that guilt trip on me! I've been spreading the seeds of Truth for years, decades....some listen, some don't. Some take hold, some get blown away. Try it, you'll find the same results.
No one is to blame, but all of us are guilty! We each do what we can, if we have a sincere conscience....then we let go....the act is ours, the consequences are the Infinite's. I do not have the power to distort reality, control it, or to globally change it. What I do have power over, is myself.

They don't teach people to read properly at school anymore, plus there is so much friction at school that young people are far more aggressive than back when the beaver was around so they tend to search for faults. Space etc is an escape route from the hostilities of modern life, so yeah its way out of control with Raelians and everyone trying to find the escape hatch. People used to take drugs to enhance life, now they take them to escape it.
squarecircle......have you read these boards much? If you had you'd have seen that even when people come in here to try to honestly share a real experience they are shot down and told they are either lying or have psychological problems. So even when they should, most folks in here don't take things very seriously.
The truth is....there really is a strange world out there...at least it can seem strange to us at times. Things do happen that we can't entirely explain.
Of course, on the other hand, a lot of what gets discussed in here is really all in fun and not meant to be taken too seriously. I get the impression you think no one posting here realizes that.

You miss the point entirely square, your whole generation of do gooders was asleep at the wheel. The true NWO started in the 1950's/60's (your time hippie) and they had a clear path to the goal because people like you were off in some mescaline induced fog pretending you were rebels without a cause. And as is typical of your whole scene you have no ability for taking responsibility, its always someone elses problem. And since when is someone with your beliefs supposed to run on recognition and pats on the back. One of the tenants of the hippie lifestyle is to do the right thing because its the right thing not because you get recognized for it, so what kind of a hippie are you. And what books have you wrote? And all the leaders of the world you talk about were once your peers, and no I don't expect you to change the world but I do expect you to keep quiet when you helped create the problem by inaction or complacency. And yes you did say you were stoned, check out the first sentence of your intro(short term memory failing?). As for doing my part I am, I am teaching my children to seek their own truth in life and to not take things at face value, which is a beginning. And I don't have to conjure up any "image" of a hippie I just have to go a couple blocks from my house and see my dad. Yeah thats right my dad, and he's been spouting the same line of b.s. too, "free love man, be good to animals, get stoned dude". As if acting like its not there ever solved anything. People will tell you that weed is harmless and in a sense it is, it is the biggest de-motivation drug. It makes you not care, not accomplish and not grow. It is purely an escape from reality.
Those dreams and ideals were lost along with the motivation for them. Many dreamed they made a difference and still have not woken up to see the truth. We are responsible for the influx of even more dangerous drugs destroying lives today. Yet kids to day even my own, I raised six of them, idealizes the hippie generation. We should not be proud of sleeping for a decade.
I am glad to see that some of you see the truth and there is hope for us all as long as this generation does not waste their lives on sedation drugs.

While some "hippie" types were toking up, dropping acid and holding "love-ins", a lot of other people with bigger dreams were making deep inroads into the betterment of human rights and freedoms. Next time you see a person of colour sitting next to a white person on the bus, or see a woman receiving wages equal to a man doing the same job, remember what generation was instumental in making it happen. And those are 2 of the many things that my/our generation fought for, so today's kids can benefit from them. Girls can wear jeans to school today because high school kids in the 60s protested for that right. Before that we gals had to walk to school in dresses/skirts in below zero weather. Before the 60s young men were expelled from school if their hair hung over their ears. We fought for that right too. The freedom of expression, the freedom to wear the clothes you like, to wear the hair styles you like, to shop where you like, eat where you like, live where you like....all were fought for by the 60s generation. Since you probably were not even alive yet then, I suppose you never saw the news broadcasts of college students getting their heads smashed in by police billies and dragged into paddywagons because they dared to stand up to a corrupt system, dared to protest injustices and indignities....like senseless war.
Do you think that every choice made by today's generation is without fault?? Surely it wasn't only the 50 and over age group that voted Bush into power!!
Be grateful for the things that previous generations have done to benefit you in your life today, and instead of complaining about those things we didn't finish, take up the cause and finish them yourself(selves).
And...if anyone thinks today's generation isn't getting stoned they must be living under a rock. Not only are they getting stoned, but today's drugs are far worse than any that were available in the 60s.

That is so true...! There is a drug culture out there among the younger generation at this present time! Mind you some people on here wouldn't know that? They've probably been wrapped up in cotton wool all their lives...
As is the case back in the good old days...not all were so good, not all were so cool, but whatever.... I'm glad to see that even the simplest minds find something to say, to poke at...that's good. I'm still wondering exactly what axe you are grinding styxxman or whatever your name is. Just what is your trip? Did you have a not so good childhood with abuse? Was it some hippy type that did this to you? What flipped your trigger?
Anything negative you think you are throwing AT me, you are merely talking about yourself, your own hurt, your own inner civil-war. Nobody grows up in a perfect world...not me, not they, not those people, not even YOU, so where is the pain?
I am completely secure in my own self, having already "confronted" me, in the mirror, as I do everyday. Anytime I throw head trips outward, it is first found in my own thinking, feeling. Why you think you can judge me, is not beyond me, but I know it isn't "me", but rather something in "you". I am completely secure in my own self, having already "confronted" me, in the mirror, as I do everyday. Anytime I throw head trips outward, it is first found in my own thinking, feeling. Why you think you can judge me, is not beyond me, but I know it isn't "me", but rather something in "you". That is just the way it is....go ahead, spout more....and soon more and more will see what is revealed by your anxiety. How could I push a button, in you, without something being there already. I'm just wondering. I'm not offended, I think it is rather unique to see anyone poking about at "hippies". I just want you to know that you reveal too much. You're too wide open...how old are you? And what hippy destroyed your peace?
Like I said, in an earlier post, somewhere else, this UM is cool, but I find the people are way more mysterious than anything you read about.

I'm going to agree with Stixxman and Irish the hippie generation were highly overrated. They complained, complained, complained, blamed and blamed, but all they did was procrastinate. I can't even credit one hippie for making a difference in society, only for good music which you had to be stoned to even groove to it.
