well you have to understand, i would sacrifice my self to some one that i know would do the same for me...

I would but only for someone I love or someone in need of help, not for a criminal unless he/she really showed signs of regret but still I'd be unsure.

I would sacrifice my life for that of another if i loved him/her or not, and only because i know that i am more willing to give up my life than the person i would be saving. Unless the person i would be saving had more of a willingness to give up his/her life more than mine. in that case, no i wouldnt give up my life.

For my son, without a doubt.

If I find out who that person is first, otherwise it would have to be me - but what is specifically sacrifice? & for love you would have to know what love was. So- if you mean to sacrifice yourself so someone else you know you love could live if they were - at risk of dying, I would sacrifice myself, yes.

But there isn't anyone but me, so, I would sacrifice myself, yes.

What makes it so easy to say you would die for a loved on ie like I had said I would die for my child...name me a mother that wouldn't.

I think for all of those that have said they would die for a loved one actually mean it and the reason is obvious!!

I don't think any real parent would hesitate to sacrifice themselves to save their children.

I think the intent of the thread was if one would die for a person they loved "romantically." In that case, no.

^^^Actually, I think the original post had a little more sinister agenda, read a few pages into it and you might see what I mean. But 'tis still a good question.

I think most people would die for those whom they love.

What I want to know though is who would die for someone they didn't love! Also assuming that you have time to think and decide about this, as opposed to a spur of the moment life or death decision type of thingy.

Thats a really good question, i don't no if i would be able to answer that until i get put in that situation. I think if i seen a little kid or something who needed help and i would be risking my life helping i would do it. As for a loved one i think i would, if i loved them more than myself and if it was my daughter i would definantly risk my life for theres. I use to be afraid of death actually i thought i wasn't anymore but i just realised that yes i am afraid of death still but i would still rather sacrafice myself than go through the pain of a loved one dying and knowing i could of saved them.

The most honest answer anyone could say. I applaud you

that would be my answer too. I just dont' know, nor could I unless actually faced with the choice.

Yeah I would give my life for my comrades, little bro and cousin without a hesitation.

Well I would have said the exact same thing before I had a kid, but when you have a child of your own things change including your whole out look on things around you ect it would be rather selfish of me to put myself 1st infront of my kid

That answer i gave was about a stranger, if i would risk my life for a stranger. If you carry on reading i said that if it was my daughter or anyone else i loved dearly of course i would risk my own life to save theres but as for a stranger i would not no until i get put into that situation. So if you were implying i was being selfish please read properly next time and if you weren't disregard this message:)

What makes it so easy? You're sitting in the comfort of your own home not actually faced with the situation. When you're faced with such a situation, you might very well not be thinking clearly and acting on instinct.

I think it would be something any mother would do. Because why would a mom want to live- who is older- when their child could grow and have a life?

the situation has not arisen but I am pretty sure a mom would do that. I know I would for my daughter- no questions asked. I would have someone capable of watching her after my death. Better her alive then dead- I say.

They might very well not want to, but circumstances could make them act instinctively instead of on reason.

Sorry but I will Strongly disagree with you on that and all I can say is ...I hope that day never comes and if it did...I would die for my daughter if you can't come to grips with that..that is your own problem...hey why not ask your mom/dad the same question!!

And if you are going to sit and tell anyone of us that have said..yes we would die for our children ect. that its so easy to say that sitting confortably but if faced with it, we may change....!!! .well then why for the love of maggie ask the question in the 1st place??!!!
