A flurry of excitement among Bigfoot believers was punctured last night by the screening of a new videotape that one disappointed expert said was so blurry she could barely make out any detail. A ferry operator shot the video in northern Manitoba and Fox News bought it for what is believed to be a six-figure amount. It was aired yesterday on A Current Affair, a tabloid show that reaches few Canadian households.Promotional clips for the show said that producers had "two minutes and 49 seconds of videotape you've gotta see to believe," a promise that Bigfoot researcher Lisa Shiel called overblown.Ms. Shiel, author of a fictional work The Hunt for Bigfoot and currently at work on a non-fiction book called Backyard Bigfoot, watched the show from the Michigan's Upper Peninsula. She said that it was a brief program and that only 20 or 30 seconds of the Manitoba footage was shown."It's interesting, intriguing. Definitely something walking upright but that's about all you can see," she said in a telephone interview. "It's definitely not a bear."
As promotion for last night's show, Fox News had offered a brief clip so blurry it was almost impossible to make out any detail. The tape shown on the main program was not substantially better, Ms. Shiel said."It was a pretty blurry, dark shape that moved around," she said. "You could see arms and legs."

It really wasn't all that great, really blurry and way too far away. Sort of a let down to be honest.

yeah thats what i'm waiting for too saruman..the video itself. I was too lazy to watch it myself. I find it funny though that fox paid all that money for it and its a piece of blurry junk.

You can view the promo clip
HERE, and no, the clip wasn't any clearer on the program, what you see is what was showed. It was a huge disappointment, certainly not the 'clip of the century' as some would have you believe.
Also interesting to note was that the
Globe & Mail had speculated that the current affair site would make the complete video available for viewing on its site today, there's no indication that is going to become a reality.

I have to say, that was a big letdown...
From the start of the reporting of the clip it sounded like it was just a great piece of footage...after seeing it, it looks like a guy in a dark outfit walking. Maybe.
I guess if I hype my family reunion video footage of my uncle Ernie walking by the beach(after bluring it out to the point of uselessness) I might get a show to pay 100K for the clip too...
I wonder if the guy that agreed to buy the video got fired?
Marketing at it's finest
I did get worried when they announced the video, but never any screenshots or clips at all...

Well I still havent seen the video yet. But it is honestly starting to sound like a complete waste of time. If the whole video is a bad as the clip on the website than I really can't believe that anybody got even remotely excited about this piece of footage. But I still have to actually view the footage before I pass judgement.

Piece of useless crap. Huge let down. Hoax. Proves nothing. Really wanted to it be something tangible

That does suck, the only hope I'm holding out on is maybe they for some odd reason showed the worst part of the video. Because that lady in the article said that they only showed about 20 or 30 seconds of a 2minate and 49 second thing. I just can't beleive all these people who saw the video before it aired were that wrong.

I agree, I think it's a hoax too. I mean the video is so blurry and fuzzy. How can you tell anything? It could be a man in a gorilla suit. they made this video out to be the best video ever captured. What a false claim.
I'm quite disappointed myself. With the technology we have in video these guys couldn't get a better format?
Yeesh!

There might be chance that they are improving the quality of the footage by enhancing it with computers to get a better picture. I just can;t believe they would purchase nothing, it has to be something.

It doesn't have to be good footage. All they have to do is hype it up. The more people that watch it the more they get from their advertisers. So, it doesn't hurt them if it is crap footage or not. All the care about is creating more publicity for their show.

Additional footage from the 'current affair' website showing more video of the 'bigfoot' and additional information regarding it's 'expedition'. Lord, this looks as hoaky as they come.

What the hell was that?!!???!!!? They put together what looks like a legit investigation of the video...and they conclude by sending those clowns into the woods to find it? I mean come on now, it's insulting to our intellegence and it just makes them look cheesy and stupid.
And is anyone ever going to show the video in it's entirety? Although from the looks of the addtional video it probably won't be worth the three minutes it takes to view, but it would be interesting to see none the less.
I would also like to add that in my own opinion of course, that what I am seeing in the small bit of footage I have seen could be something worth looking into. It's blurry but it still clear enough to tell that there is something walking along the river banks...Footage of the century? No. Hoax? Could very well be, unfortunately with the blurry nature of this video it will only add more controversy to the saga of Bigfoot and do little to shed light on the mystery. However a proper expedition (unlike this show) may be beneficial to the hunt for bigfoot.
And I still want to know why people who saw this were so excited about it? You can't see any detail, and detail is the key to proving that bigfoot exists...this is just another average piece of film, and nothing more.

All hype to increase ratings. That footage sucked. How could anyone look at that and say that is bigfoot. It is just a dark blur. One person on the news said maybe it was Shaq in a fur coat.lol

man, terrorists in a 3rd world country can get better quality out of there hostage videos but this guy cant get anything better than a blurry picture. it could be anything, there's no way to scale the size of the thing since the video itself is crappy. and it could just be someone walking with a dark coat on.
