I dont like Slipknot nearly as much as I used to, but I would have to say my favorite song by them is probably either Surfacing or Three Nil.

I was first introduced to Slipknot by my stepson. I am proud to say they are out of Des Moines, Iowa (I'm an Iowa gal ). They have an excellent drum solo in concert. The drum set is on a platform that raises into the air like 10 feet and then tips and rotates. The drummer is strapped into his seat and still can play. I'm jealous of my stepson because he saw them in concert a few weeks ago-they were back in Iowa. I really don't have a FAVORITE song. Like em' all!

i know! when they came here in Chicago, i couldnt go see them with Lamb of God and Shadows Fall cuz that show was so damn expensive. plsu, my best friend who didnt really deserve to go did go.

I find a lot of people get caught up in the mask gimmick, and dont realise that they actually play some decent music....

I wish they would show some talents over than screaming, because they're actually prettey good musicians.

screaming is not nearly all they do. sure, they do do it a lot and it is cool, but their music is very structured and hard to play. The Subliminal Verses cd really showed what kind of musical talent they have, and its a great cd, but Iowa is still my fav cd by them.

My son is from Fort Dodge, Iowa. My son said it was the best concert he has ever been to. I sure would have loved to have seen that drum solo.

Slipknot have one of the greatest live shows on the earth, if not the best. They are my favourite band without question. my fave song would have to be between people = sh**, (sic) and the blister exists. The first song proper from each album. They really know how to open an album!!!

I think band is in the saturated pile of whats wrong with music today. Besides there a crappier version AND are a direct ripoff of GWAR.

They're good. I have Subliminal Verses, but their old stuff is better. They just have the cool sound and Joey is an awesome drummer. The singer's voice is amazing, too, screaming or not.

Slipknot kick ass. Vol 3 is a great album, and it was cool to see the band showing their tue abilities on that album, but my favourite song is I am Hated, which comes from the Iowa album.

I listen to that on the way to work sometimes. It really gets me going in the mornings!!!!!

They are my favourite band. Number 1 is the best drummer in the whole F'ing world!!! My favourite song would probably be Surfacing followed closely by Everything Ends. I also like Vermillion pts 1 &2 alot.

I used to like em...but I grew out of my "Death/Black Metal" phase. Still into Korn and other heavy metal, though.

Slipknot in Revolver MAgazine, is said to be the best band on tour of OUR AGE!!! im 20... anyways, and they have the best single VERMILLION!!! they dominate.... joey also is said to be one of the greatest dummers in the world!.

Of course. They are the biggest and one of the greatest band today, which is quite an accomplishment. And Joey is an EXCELLENT drummer. In my opinion they have a lot better songs than Vermillion, although it is a very good song. Its good to see theyre getting farther and farther in their careers.

umm...anything of theirs is pretty much good. And any bad things youve heard about them are lies, because there is NOTHING bad about them. If you want some of their best stuff, download People=sh**, (Sic), The Blister Exists, I Am Hated, and The Heretic Anthem.

If they are the biggest band nowadays, then i am Mickey Mouse. I hardly know or hear anything about them, occasionally one of our music channels will play a song by them, on some metal program. They really arent that popular here.
You know, not everybody likes heavy metal. And i dont think they are the biggest band in the world, and im sure many people will agree with me.

Mushroomhead? Theyre nothing like Mushroomhead, except for the masks (well most of MH has face paint). plus, Slipknot is actually good. Mushroomhead is only eh....Their XIII album was good though. And they are pretty awsome live.

I don't care if they release a new album right now, all I wanna do is to go to the concert they'll do in Chile in September. Sweet!!!

They all have talent, most of us can agree with that. But they are no where NEAR the best band in the world. Although I don't blame you for thinking so, since they're exposed to mainstream audiences so much. People who are brave enough to delve into some more underground bands like Mastodon, As I Lay Dying, and Unearth will see how much better music there is out there. And no, I'm not saying that because I like those three bands (in fact I'm hardly a fan) but they are definitely better as far as talent and hard work goes, and they are all greatly respected in the metal community.

They are actually considered grindcore. Well, their old stuff is, at least. Vol. 3 was pretty much straight-up heavy metal. Because of their popularity, most "true" metal fans lump them into the nu-metal category, which is a terribly mis-used term these days. Most people have no idea what nu-metal actually is.

nu metal/rock are bands that started in the 90's

I hate Slipknot. With a big fat passion. I saw them (only cos they were supporting Metallica and they were awful! I so did not get why people say they are so good live. Unless there were just sound problems? Although I will say Corey has a fantastic voice (Saw Stone Sour as well) and Joey is a phenominal (sp!) drummer. But that's about the best I can say about them.

I would disagree with grindcore as well. I own Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat and it seems to be a smattering of influences, the main ones being death and jazz. Sure they came from death/grind influences (Anal Blast, of course) but that album is such a departure. As for now, they just play a sloppy, horribly shambolic from of "metal".
