some things just seem like they have to be staged....like a card INSIDE a cops shoe, cmon...i just cant think of any otherway (not to say that there isnt a way)
IamFS
yah for real...i dont get that stuff. he jsut comes off as he thinkgs he is a god, i still wonder how he floats!
convert-proof
float? he doesn't. disgust.gif First, he does a trick by standing on on his toes, but by the angle of those ignorant audience, they think he is rising. The guys with the camera tapes the audiences reaction to his one toe trick, then tapes him wih chains attached to his arms. They show that, then show the audiences reaction. Pretty cheap, eh? disgust.gif the tricks? like a card in the cop's shoe? i bet he was in on it. look how surprised he wasn't. "good job" he was obviously in on it. All those other tricks? there is something to them. He is just good at taking other people's tricks, then getting good at them. Like the fly resurrection? he put the fly in the freazer for about 15 min, then the warmpth of the fireman's hand warmed it up. disgust.gif "things aren't always what they seem" (Mystery Hunters) thumbsup.gif

yah i have done that thing with the fly, what about the "dead" peigon? and also what about the staying in the ice and stuff? im not saying i belive hes really doing the stuff, trust me, i dont

The block of ice thing was explained by the Masked Magician on a special. Apparently, Blaine would switch with a look-a-like while the men were keeping the ice solid by emitting some sort of cold, smoky substance from a gun-like object.

Also, all of his street magic stuff can be purchased online. Except that one where he somehow got a card in the little girl's pocket. I think that one was set up.

There are tons of websites exposing his "street magic" on google. They explain his tricks in detail. I would post them, but its too much information.

From the title of this thread, I thought you were talking about an underwear shop for men. Kinda like 'Victoria's Secret', but with boxers.
fadinginnocence
the levitation trick is done wit mirriors on the bottoms of his shoes thats why he has jis back to them plus to disguise the fact he is on his tiptoes

Most of his card/coin tricks are very easy to do. There are many dvd's out that can teach you all sorts of "magic". If you really want to know how to do them, just search.

Come on the levitation and all Blaines tricks are easy and have been explained on the internet over and over. The levitation trick is called the Balducci Method. Here is how it works.

Effect: The magician raises his arms up by his sides and slowly appears to rise a few inches off the ground for a little while before returning to earth quickly.

Balducci Method: The Balducci method involves positioning your audience about 8 to 10 feet away at a 45 degree angle. You need to keep your audience small so they are within this field of sight.

This is a very restrictive angle trick and it is essential that the angles are practised, preferably with a friend or in front of a mirror.

The Balducci levitation involves pretending to float off the ground by going on to your tip toes on just one foot ( the one furthest from their view ) while the nearest foot is raised a little off the ground.

This looks fantastic as the foot on your tip toe is hidden by your trousers, the nearest foot and the angle they are watching at. You only rise a few inches off the ground but the impression is fantastic. This trick is all in the presentation with you appearing to rise slowly, wait for a second or two and then return to the ground quickly so as the audience do not have time to figure the trick out.

The picture here shows the beginning on the left and the climax of the trick on the right .

David Blaine Version: David Blaine used various camera shots in his TV special with the audience reaction being filmed close up and linked to other clips of him in mid air with some of the angles showing the Balducci levitation.

The view that shows him rise a good few inches in the air and does not show the audience, would possibly have been done with a bar attached to a pivot like a seesaw.

The end of the pivot could have had a hook which clipped onto a harness attached to his belt and a member of the crew would have pushed down on the other side of the bar lifting David up in the air. The camera angle would have hidden the props.

This film would have been mixed in with the audience clips in the studios later.

The Balducci levitation secret is clearly explained in the Learn to levitate DVD which can be ordered online by clicking the link here and will allow you to learn master and perform self levitation like David Blaine and object levitation very quickly with incredible results .
