About 2 months ago, I was watching something on the discovery channel and they had "The Mysteries of the Unexplained" on and I caught the last half-ending of it. and they had talked about half-human and half-wolves (werewolves) that had been reported being seen in some country town(out in the sticks somewhere). A woman happened to be inside of her house and was sitting or laying down, when she felt someone or something watching her through her window and sure enough, she turned around to see it was a creepy werewolf staring at her through the window! I was watching Bram Stokers "Dracula" just prior to watching this show. The werewolf from "Dracula", looked exactly like this one! Same exact features as the werewolf lurcking around the woman's window! That about freaked me out, I didn't sleep at all that night! Too weird!!!! So, I'm curious as to if that was a bunch of B.S like some of the things they show on t.v. or if that actually happened. Anyone know about this, please let me know. unsure.gif

Were wolves? Laughable... other than those two "wolfboy" dudes with the hairy faces... they don't exist... there may be a lot of hairy people out there but people that turn into wolves every full moon... no.gif

Use the search bar next time, there are already werewolf topics on other pages of this forum....

Yeah i'v heard the stories of werewolves and stuff, they started as a myth in europe during the middle ages but since no proof but there have been sightings i guess it could count as a crypid as in my words a lot of cryptozooloy is just silly sightings by people wanting money and attention and has very very little proof or even none at all. Thats why a lot of scientists laugh at the word cyrptozoologists as they think theres very little point studying something that could not even be real but yeah i guess you can't fully cross them out of the books
Falco Rex
Call me crazy..But I don't remember a Werewolf in Dracula. Where was he? huh.gif
MadEyePixie
Perhaps August is talking about Van Helsing, Falco. I dont remember a werewolf being in any Dracula movies or in the book.

they used to call people who had lupus werewolves, because they became really sensitive to light, got shaggier hair, and became more violent than usual, and would generally only go out when it was dark because the daytime sun hurt to look at....at least i think it was lupus....ok, im not sure if its the right disease but i know its the right symptoms of whatever it was

Not to make a big issue out of this. Yes, there was a werewolf in one of the scenes.
If you watched the whole film, then you would see the part when Mina Walks down the stairs out of the castle and sees this "werewolf" near the fountain on one of her friends, Lucy. I was just trying to answer the question, so I apologize if I have offended anyone! original.gif

Fact... there is different types of "Lupus", and I don't think that that is one of them. There is: Cutaneous lupus, Systematic Lupus Erythematosus, Drug-induced Erythematosus, Neonatal Lupus, and Lupus in Overlap. It is a chronic-inflammatory disease that effects all parts of your body, including Joints, Heart, Kidneys, Skin, and Blood. Our body's immune system normally makes proteins called antibodies to hel protect our bodies from infections, viruses, bacteria, and other foreign materials. These foreign materials are called "antigens". In an autoimmune-system such as Lupus, the immune system loses it's ability to tell the difference between foreign substances(antigens) and it's own cell and tissues. The immune system then makes antibodies directed against "self". Antibodies, also called "anti-autobodies", react with the "self" antigens to form immune complexes.
The immune complexes, then build up in tissues and cause inflammation, injury to tissues, and pain. More than 16,000 people develop Lupus each year. geek.gif yes.gif Look up the definition and it will tell you all about it.

actually werewolves were present all over the ancient world from rome to egypt.
and silly sightings includes trials of individuals thought to be werewolves does it ?
Well i suppose in most cases they discovered to their error that when the condemned werewolf had been executed and cut open there wasn't any fur on the inside.
Thats why they added burning to the list of cures in the middle ages.
to stop any accusations of mistrial or any complaint agaisnt the clergy

i have been doing alot of research on werewolves and come to find out that the closest thing there is are therainthropes, which are people who believe they have the wolf spirit in them. i would like to believe i am one of them.
ForRizzle
Wow thats really cool. Thanks for that thumbsup.gif Maybe this should go in all the other werewolf threads on the website instead of making a new one to discuss post the same thing over and over.. Just a thought.

there is one person particularly executed for being a werewolf, his name was peter stumpf, rumor has it he had a wolf belt that he used to transform. as for werewolfs existing, i dont logically think they exist, but i do believe in therianthropes. happy.gif

What is a Therianthrope?
A therianthrope is more commonly known today as a 'shapeshifter'.The most recognized of which is the Lycanthrope, or Werewolf (Lycanthropology). Therianthropes, however, are not limited to the stereotype of Lon Chaney Jr., the oversized wolfish beast from 'An American Werewolf in London', or the anthropomorphic grey hound-ish thing from the third Harry Potter movie.

Different types and terminology
While there are many different 'types' of therianthropes, per se, the three main groups are physical, mental, and spirtual. There are many little branches off these, astral¹ and dream for example, but those can be categorized into the following categories. Mostly I'm going to define what that particular branch of shifting means although I may mention a certain type of shifting here and there.

Physical
Physical shifting is the actual morphing from human to animal. Skin, bones, teeth, fur and claws. The hole kit and kaboodle. These are the obvious aspects of a physical shift but wait- there's more! Physical shifting not only applies to appearance, but also senses and reflexes.

Mental
Mental shifts is when the therianthrope's mental awareness shifts into the mindset of it's animal. The therianthrope 'becomes' their animal and that experience can range any where from affecting your personality to experiencing strange cravings. To common shifters its easier to control and almost like a split personality, but mental shifting is not necessarily always voluntary.

Spiritual
Spiritual shifting is the most accepted form of therianthropology due to Shamanism. Those who experience spiritual shifts feel deep connections to their animals, quite often through their totem or animal guide. When they experience a spirtual shift they into a sort of meditative trance, wherein they feel a deeper connection to their animal and sometimes during this shift they find them selves sensing and seeing places where their shifted spirit is currently. That particular scenario would probably be classified under an astral¹ shift.

How is the existence of therianthropes plausible?
The most accepted form of Therianthropology is the Spirituality of it, in which its not considered to be a shift into an animal as it is feeling a strong bond to the animal. In some cases the being might feel socially misfit, as if they don't belong and were born in the wrong skin.

-----------

¹ The astral form is a metaphysical state which is most commonly associated with dreams. an example of an astral form would be your corporeal form in a dream. In the case of therainthropes their astral form would be that of their animal phenotype.

**I must say, it sounds intriguing.....

you wanted to know if werewolves exist. well i happen to see one 1-5 times a month. i dont see the creature itself, but what it does..how it moves..im a normal person..just with bad luck i guess..when i was about 5-6 years old i was attacked by what i thought at that time was a very large dog. it did not bite me just scratched me .. gave me a few bruises..when the police arrived i told them the same thing as i am posting right now..that it was a very large dog..little did i know till i was about 15-16..then the visions came..and have ever since.

the moon has nothing to do with anything. it kills when it wants to. it moves faster than most people can see. i do know it is very strong!

i see what it see's ..do i like it..hell no..i try and see where it is..to track it..but by time i try its to late. next time i see it, its in a different place.

a joke ..no i wish it was!!! no.gif

oh..for all you people that think im crazy..check this out!!!!!!!!!

when i do have the visions my blood pressure go's through the roof.

like i said im a normal person..i dont have any medical problems..ok..maybe allergies!!!

i will try and answer all the questions i can!!!

1. last seen..may 7th 11:23 pm
2. where ..i cant tell
