Jack in Irons: A "ghost" reported to haunt the back roads of the English county of Yorkshire. Described as being tall in stature, "demoniac" in appearance, and swathed in chains. While the characterization of phantoms wrapped in chains is a popular image, it is a very rare phenomena to have multiple reports of a chained specter, particularly outside of a setting such as a dungeon or prison, where such an appearance might be more readily explained.

*does anyone have any more info on this? I'm trying to put together an "obscure ghosts" project, so any help/info would be greatly appreciated. thumbsup.gif

If I'm not mistaken, it's just a catch-all phrase for men, kinda like "Buddy" here in the US. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me. tongue.gif
