I don't usually rent games before I buy them unless I don't have enough money to buy them. What about you? thumbsup.gif
Super Pancake
I only by games that I hear that are good, but I still want to play games that suck like superman 64 so I rent them.
_Nyx_
I have 2 sons who are PS2 fanatics, and usually, I have to buy them each their own game (they have their own console) because they do not share well. Well, for as quickly as they get bored with these "Mom, I GOTTA get this" games, and $50 a pop, I rent a lot of games. For me, it works out better. original.gif Of course the GTA series was a "must own" deal....Yeesh.
brittish_gurl
no, I never have actually. I wanted to rent a game before when I lost it, but i just decided, you'll only have it for like a week tops, so why bother.......
Werewolf of Doom
I rent most games of borrow them before I buy them.
seeking
i would never buy my kids thier own console let alone games, but thats besides the point, i about only rent games, i only own need for speed underground 1 and 2 and tekken 4
jpalz
Nopers. I usually read what sites like IGN and Gamespot and 1up say before buying it. They're a guide, but I guide myself mainly on instinct. And it's fine-tuned grin2.gif
AztecInca
I used to hire games for my N64 and Gamecube but now with my PS2 I dont hire any games, just buy the ones I want.
Walken
Rarely. I see games like GTA having $7 rent for a week.

That's lame. Games like GTA SA take years to fully play over and experience all the joy. You can't do that in seven days.

Now, games like 'Sonic The HEdgehog' and 'RayMan'. They are worth renting instead.
MrScienceGuy
I dont play consoles, I think they are a complete waste of time thumbsup.gif
As for PC, why rent when you can download. grin2.gif
AutumnDragon
I rent before buying. I dont wanna buy kr4p
FLY SPITTA
I think I would rent games more often if my brother didn't have so many late fees! It sucks every time we go in we have to pay a $5.00 fee for some dumb game or movie from my brother. Just last month he still had "Jeepers Creeps" DO YOU KNOW HOW OLD THAT IS!!!! angry.gif
AutumnDragon
rent at blockbuster. no late fees
riotboy555
I don't rent games, because I always forget the due dates and end up turning them in and paying a hefty fine. sad.gif
John13np
I rent just sometimes

...years? I got 95%+ in three months. There is no game (save for MMORPG's) that take years to get the most out of. Big exageration.

As for me? I don't really rent, only because I don't actually own any gaming console newer than PS1...and you don't see PS1 games for rent, do you?

You can't really believe that every review is going to be the exact same that yours is going to be! Some reviews are so fake! You listen to the review sometimes and then yours is totally different. wink2.gif

i do rent games sometimes, but only when im skeptical about how good the game is gonna be or if i dont have enough money to buy a game. i havent rented in awhile. the last game i trented was Project Snowblind. i was really impressed with it, and i would have bought it, except i had beaten the next day cuz me and my friend played it for hours. ive been meaning to rent God of War, cuz im low on cash and about the only thing i can do is rent.
RH2097
Mostly just buy them. Last time I rented a game was like 2 years ago.
Fable
Where I am it's almost impossible to rent games. There is one Blockbuster around us and since they switched to the monthly plan, you can't find any games to rent. It's something like $34.95 a month, and you get to keep the games for pretty much as long as you want. So, take five copies of a game, hundreds of people wanting to rent it... and it comes down to never being able to find it. So, I buy and never try to rent anything anymore.
Amalgamut
before i buy a game i always rent it first, and read the reviews. some games i would just buy, without renting, and i learned that its better to spend the $6 first to see if you like it.
FLY SPITTA
thumbsup.gif I also rent them when I don't have enough moeny to buy them and I really want to play them bad! Like NBA live 2005 don't have it, but I rented it like 3 times.
Neo2005
I'm a big renter of games becuase i beat them to fast and if i buy a game it's not worth it to play it for a week then have it beaten.
A three day rental and i'm good i usually have the entire game completed.

I rented RE4 3 times before i went out and bought and now that i own it i rarely play it.

Although sometimes i wish there were more games like Animal crossing or Harvest Moon where it's impossible to beat the entire game so that i can buy it and have it forever, and the only way i'd sell it is if i got bored with the game after a long time.
Conspiracy
usually i just look at ratings for the game then buy them

Perhaps, but after you've got 100% you still haven't fully enjoyed the game. You havent parachuted into AREA 69 or crashed a hydra into another hydra in a dog fight. You havent commited suicide with fellow gang members off of cliffs or made a stack explosion. You havent tried to derail a train in the middle of a motor way or send it off a cliff. no.gif

Games like GTA SA take years to fully enjoy.

GTA takes a few months for me then all my joy is gone... tongue.gif

I sometimes just ask the clerks in video game stores which games are worth it and stuff. They are pretty honest and know what they are talking about.

Done everything there was to do in it in about 2-3 months. Now it sits on my shelf, collecting dust, quiet old and boring already. Maybe you can spend a year on one game, but i that would just bore me to tears.
Paranoid Android
It depends. I find that reviews aren't much help because everyone's taste is different. But Tuesday's and Thursday's are $1.95 days at VideoEzy. I can hire a game for a third of what it'd usually cost for a night. 2 bucks is a small investment when you're going to spend $90 on a game.

More often though I'll just check out Cash converters or the used games at Electronics Boutique or something and get them cheap. Unless it's a game which has been hyped up that I'm really interested in, in which case I'll preorder and get all this limited edition crap with it (which basically means they'll give me a different coloured case which says "Limited edition" in bold letters on the top. Oooohhhhhh rofl.gif )

if i rent a game, i generally find that i get far enough through it, or sick enough of it that i don't ant to buy it. I am very careful when purchasing games as i buy relatively few, so i don't often make the mistake of buying duds. Rentals are reserved for dodgy games, that i have no intention of buying, but might be fun to play for a weekend

Although i once got the best deal ever from a magazine, 6 free gamecube rentals!!! needless to say i used them all
