It sounds more like a CPU overload, or a sound card problem.
1. Play the music, press ctrl+alt+del and go to Performance. Check your CPU usage and PF Usage. Minimize some window while observing the CPU Usage. See if it jumps to 100% while the sound is shuddering.
2. Try getting a newer soundcard driver.

I'm pretty sure its the soundcard then, try updating the drivers.
AutumnDragon
May 12 2005, 12:17 AM
what are the drivers?
MrScienceGuy

Drivers are software for your soundcard that make it work with your OS. It sounds like your soundcard is built in in the motherboard. Figure out which soundcard you have by right-click on My Computer icon on desktop, select Hardware, Device Manager, click on + next to "Sound, video, and game controllers." One of the lines that show up will be the name of your sound card. Tell me what it is.
Also, download the latest DirectX version here
