As we are fast approaching "circle season" again, thought this would be a good time to start a discussion on them. If you find any pics of new formations, post them up for everyone to see. Also who do think it is that is responsible for them, Aliens, Pranksters. Would be interested to hear what you all think!
Bio-Mage
I think they are all human made. Hence they wait for the summer. Who wants to do that out in bitter cold weather:P
Alfaman
Found a good website if anyone wants to check it out

www.cropcircleconnector.com

Got load of info and pictures from the past few years.

Maybe crops don't grow in the winter? especially in the countries these things are frequently found and I think they happen most year around and even have sand circles. Welcome to UM alfaman.

Snow circles have been reported but it's really hard to
make a crop circle w/out crops. Doug and Dave have
been really busy since one of them died. You don't often
find old farmers with such extensive knowledge of
tetrahedral geometry...
XSAS

Tetrahedral what.....
whipnet
I think some are created by humans, but certainly not all.

To the best of my knowledge, they only ever made simple circles.

i KNOW there are some created by man...but there must have been an original for people to have gotten the idea from, and probably more than one.
aquatus1
There must have been an original?

Why is that?

I love crops myself, I want to own one, that way I can be all over the news for hiring people to make crop circels.....it would be cool....yes, im going to do that.......in 40 years......maybe.

You think there are people that are stupid enough to come up with an idea like "hey let's make circles in crop fields so that people would think the E.T. from that Steven Spielberg movie has visited eheheheh"? Oh wait! grin2.gif never mind.

Seriously, I think most of the crop circles are human-made but there are also many very complex and accurate ones too that can't possibly have been made overnight by a couple of drunken weirdos.

Edit: My 1st post btw. Hi all! alien.gif

The original circle happened hundreds of years ago so it woul be hard to track down the first one. They have been popping up in history in books and paintings for a long time. Now maybe its artistic prose or an artists fancy I don't know for sure but there is something there.

I was actally wondering when there was going to be new crop circle sightings that's one of my favorite topics. I hope more pop up soon or something! thumbsup.gif

I think some are definitely man made, but some of the complexed and BIG ones can't be made by humans. Not enough time in one night. Note: not one crop circle has been found that had a fault in it. IF the "crop makers" made a mistake, what would they do? they can't press "undo". They are all flawless, coincidence? alien.gif
Alfaman
There are some that are made ovrenight by groups of people but they are very simple designs, not the highly accurate ones with hundreds of circles. One of the best circles in resent years was a 3 pointed star in the field next to stone henge called the triple julia set.

Apparently an RAF pilot was flying over the area at the time, flew over the field, nothing there, 15 mins later flew back and it was there.

XSAS

15 Minutes... I would not know where to start if I had to fake one, there are obviously those that go out and make these to fool the wrold but some have to originate from another source.
Dog_Boy
I particulaly like the ones where the "aliens" or whoever do a nice butterfly or the face of a "grey".

Perhaps they are artistic and these fields are their art galleries.

I could understand it when it comes to the random, standard circles but why would they do pretty pictures of rockets and the like.

My opinion? Like the whole of the UFO subject, undecided. The majority I would say are man made but there are some which are unusual but I am not going to say "alien" untill I know more.

Can anyone remember the video footage of the 2 small balls of light that were flying around a field at night and then suddenly a crop circle appered while the camera was rolling??? was that fake, I can't remember.

Oh, let's not be silly. Dozens of crop circles have been found with errors in them. The thing is, whenever an obvious error is found, experts promptly claim that it is fake!

Bit of a circular argument: Crop circles are real because they are flawless. If there is a flaw, then it is not a real crop circle. Completely non-falsifiable.
