I believe that "Tolerance" should be the word of the day (week, month, year)

I believe that we shouldn't impose our views upon others. Unless they ask.

I believe that we are here for a reason. What that reason is, I haven't a clue. I also believe some peoples reason for being is to let the rest of us look smarter......

I belief in self determination, and the acceptance of responsibility for ones actions, good or bad.

I thought the same thing about wasabi covered nuts, until I tried them. They are.....stimulating to the palate.

I BELIEVE:
I believe that there are a multitude of unseen evil spirits, devils, that float around in the air, and exist in a spiritual dimension, and they have telepathic contact to the minds of men. And most people on the Earth are being controled by them to a greater of lesser degree, like puppets on a string.
I believe that only the real born again Christians break free from the control of these evil spirits, or devils, when the Holy Spirit of God comes to set their minds free, and lead them into the truth. [King James version New Testament has the teachings of real Christianity.]
And because of all of this, the way that the situation of man really is, most of the world will not follow the moral platitudes that you presented above.

Yes we shouldnt force personal beliefs on each other.....................but is the truth absolute? I mean is there one reality in life and can personal beliefs change reality? Only in that persons mind methinks.

Tolerance is a double-edged sword.

One edge is acceptance and lattitude. The other is spiritual/personal/societal values. The edges are opposite because they are often opposing.

What about the nesscity for war, to gain land and to spread beliefs. Without war we would not be a great world like we are.

Any personal philosophy, or course, is distorted when applied to an organism, such as 'government'. But, if nations treated each other in a similiar vein to the above, then the need for wars would be diminished.

And why should war be used to 'spread beliefs'? Is that the old "I'm right, and if you don't believe me, I'll kick the crap out of you" belief system?
If, really big if, nations acted more like neighbors, and treated each other accordingly, this would be a much BETTER world, don't you think, method?

If it wasnt for war we wouldnt be here today, or if somehow we made it here there would be so many different civilizations with limited resources and so many civiliazations with too many resources. Now we colonize and help eachother in a sense through war.

If it where not for people starting wars to push beliefs, we may well be a lot more advanced. How many future physists and scientists were killed as heretics or healers and herbalists burnt as witches? So much knowledge was lost to gain power.

Did you know that Osama bin Laden waged a succesful religious war against the Buddhists in Afghanistan. Do you still feel it's allright to use war to assert beliefs?
