Honestly?

Just looks like an old ,stained Photograph.

But then i'm not sure what i am supposed to see.

Anything can look "weird" if you play around with it enough

I have no idea Lila - looks just like an old portrait to me, I can't see anything spooky about it - sorry.

At first glance one will say "wierd", but if you look closely it's a stain. Spaghetti stain maybe?

I think the background and the person have really wierd angles. The background appears to be slanted backward and to the right producing sort of an illusion. The man has discoloration on the center of his face. He is also posed at an angle and has a very serious look about him. The whole thing when added up is just odd looking..

I couldn't find anything all that unusual with it myself. I get these kinds of things emailed to me all day long from relatives just as bored as I am.

From what i can see the angle is a wierd one for the picture.
As for the "stain" it looks a lot like how blood flows from certain people who claim to have the stigmati. Some of them bleed from they eyes and it looks a lot like the darkened areas in the picture-IMO.

somebody probably spilled someth9ing on it.

The girl just looks...bizarre. And the boy, he looks old and very young at the same time. The faces in the backgound and the weird thing the girl holds...what an imagination that painter must have...

Yeah, I've seen this one before. It is indeed very creepy & disturbing. Wouldn't want it on my wall.

I've seen that painting many times before. I believe the artist may have been schizophrenic and saw things in a more disturbing manner. I'm borderline schizophrenic and I've had dreams where people look like this, and it's really, really disturbing. I can't look at the painting anymore.

I've seen that picture before too - can't remember where but I don't find it disturbing at all - a little weird but not creapy or anything.

I looked it over and it didn't seem unusual to me at all. Maybe they have heard stories or one person claiming to have uneasy feelings toward this pic started the uproar. Kinda follow the leader, ya know?

Thanks, everyone, for your thoughts....I've looked at this thing till I see it in my sleep....and honestly, I don't want to lay eyes on it for a long time.

The angle looks all wrong, and it looks like someone spilled something on it.. or like it got rained on for a bit.

when they put the picture on red the stains there..... there.. blood

I see the under painting/drawing of a skull beneath the figures face. Which really isn't odd, a lot of painters used that technique to get proportion right. Though usually they aren't noticable like that is and more alligned to the figure, I may be wrong but that's just my opinion. How old is the painting?

All I know is what's on the link. It was emailed to me by my overly dramatic mom (luvs ya mumsy), so whatever website (I don't even remember anymore) this pic is on, they found it odd as well.

darn, was hoping a date would help explain if maybe the surface had worn away dramatically, perhaps revealing a piece of work done prior to that portrait
