First I've heard of this. I would say it's as likely as my chair being an alien lifeform....

they don't let witches anywhere near stonehenge, they keep them outside the fence with the new age travellers and the japanese tourists. water cannon targets.
iirc its still a druid only affair, and those guys stop looking like druids when they get back to the car park and take the sheet off.
bit like a non militant kkk, not many people own up to being a druid but their fiercly proud of themselves.
my wife had a broomstick

Okay. Even though I believe in odd stuff. I find this hard to believe.

I don't doubt they found any alien reminds.

Well lets put it this way.

If it were true you wouldn't need to be asking about it.
louie
Story is bogus.
an i dont know why the druids get associated with stonehenge they had nothing to do with it, Druids worship nature forest etc etc, not stone thats why they know the druids dident have anything to do with the building of stonehenge.
Nik Xues
i can see the fossils as plausible but how would any one know they were alien.
Marcus
I thought I remember reading that they had found an old human skeleton in stonehedge, not an alien fossil.

They had found a bodie, they think it was buiried there an later one of the stones fell an landed on it.
Legatus Legionis
and how do they even know that it's alien stuff. maybe it was caused by natural weathering. I see it as babblewubble/publicity.
Darkwind
I don't think so, sounds kind of wacky. Druids didn't build it, but they most likely used it at one time. It's bad someone couldn't built a replica to be used by all Pagans for worship. Maybe someday I'll lottery and do just that. original.gif It will be in central Florida where it nice and warm.

You bought your chair from PC world as well original.gif
dethstalker
Yeah... no.gif I have trouble with this one because we are not even sure what "alien" is. Supposing odd fossils were found that defy any known species doesn't mean that this "alien" looking fossil wasn't an indigenous creature that once walked the earth. I will have to invest in one of those alien chairs though...

um....................how the hell is a stone not part of nature? really
druids could have easily used it. for the theory of stone henge being some kind of calendar. or a place to worship

I agree i think i'ts quite possible that druids used stonehenge although by the time they were around it was already an ancient landmark. It would have been perfectly natural to see it as something spiritual as they quite possibly has as little idea about who built it as we do.
Ugly1
I would not be suprised if there was some deformed human that may have been sacrificed at the sight. There is no telling what the site was used for, so I would not be suprised to find any kind of bones in the henge.

The real Unexplained Mystery here is why Pawna resurrected a thread dead since May 14, 2005 just to say "Hi aquatus".
Pawna
Well

I was just perusing topics and wtiting down my thoughts, and Aquatus kept following me around giving out that I was replyng to old threads (they were on the first two pages!) so I thought I d wind him up a bit.

Another Mystery solved on Unsolved Mysreries.... Yaaaaaayyyy!

it is totally possible that Stonehenge was used by druids and witches for sacrifices and crazy stuff. it's possible it is an ancient alien launch pad. whatever it was i will tell you this....rocks don't grow in the middle of a gigantic field. some one put them there...there was a purpose and i for one want to know.....what that actual true purpose is....not some crazy was it a coffee table for giants or a collesium for dwarves. was it a prank? was it a stable for really big animals, was it an office building....who knows....????

Why would advanced space faring civilizations build a launchpad out of stone?

One theory is that it was used in a long series of funerary because of it's situation in the center of a funeral burrow.

Because they would try and use material indiginous to the planet they are building it on and most likely used in the time period they built it. and because leaving a metal launch pad in a field where people who don't know how to construct stuff like that yet will run into it would be stupid.

Gee whizz, what was I thinking? It really is stupid of me to question why advanced aliens would build a launchpad from stone. I mean, DAMN what was I thinking.

Yes, like Nigel Tufnel put it: "In ancient times, hundreds of years before the dawn of history, an ancient race of people... the Druids. No one knows who they were or what they were doing..."

Enter miniature Stonehenge.

Perhaps This is Spinal Tap originated the druids-Stonehenge connection. I mean, everything's possible, dudes! There's a grain of truth in every story! It's the quiet ones you've got to watch! Hope you're convinced, I'm running out of platitudes.

One of the best UM posts ever.

Stonehenge! Was a little disappointed when I went. I know the stones need preservation, but honestly, do we need to be kept back over a hundred yards or so by a fence? I don't think I could throw a ball all the way to the monoliths!

Good cheese and bacon scones at the cafe though, lol.
Discordian
No silly. the alien fossils were found at the feet of the Sphinx.
