Full Version: Creepy ghost girl hurting people

Mr Slayer
I heard that there is a house (they had an investigation about in Discovery I think) where a little girl's ghosts makes scratching marks on people's skins. Damn creepy.

They also showed it on television. One second the crew members were whispering in the dark, and you could see no marks on the person's arm (naked from shoulder down). The next second this dude screams in pain and the in the flashlight you can clearly see red nailmarks...shudder.

Forget mothman, Chupacabra or greys. Small children, clowns and dolls are the creepiest things in the world.

Small children in any form can be real scary. I'm no fan of dolls and clowns, either. thumbsup.gif

Haha, I agree. They all freak me out as well. Is this the same story that was featured on Sightings awhile back? If so, I know exactly what you are talking about. It showed a man who was particuarlly prone to getting the scratches. It even happened in bed I think. It seems like there is a site that keeps updates on this family, I'll have to look into it once I get home from work.

Saw it on sightings couple year back also and the family haven't moved out by now hmm.gif

It's the Sally House in Atchison Kansas. She's still at it - the owner of the house tried to sell it on ebay for 2 million a couple of months ago - no takers.

Here's a link to a somewhat recent encounter with Sally
http://www.coasttocoastam.com/gen/page262.html

I live very close to Atchison - one of local tv news channels was there recently and had an encounter as well - they took the link down from their website though.

See the thing about this is its far more common then people think. Quite bluntly I sincerely doubt its a little girl(might be) its probably some thing else pretending.
JeremyW
I've seen those clips and found it interesting that it kept happening. I feel bad for the guy though.

Both a fellow investigator and I had a similar occurence we both ended up with about a dozen deep scratches across each of our lower backs. This happened several years ago at a small very active cemetery. It was a warm summer night and we felt no pain during the encounter, in fact we didn't realize we had them until we went back to his house and he changed his shirt. All we did feel was incredible coldness and numbness across our entire bodies. I do have pictures of them although they are saved onto a disk that for some reason will not open on my computer. I had saved them onto the disk when I had windows ME then when I upgraded to XP i have not been able to open them along with about 400 other pictures. I plan to head up to wal mart later this week and see if their digital photo lab machine can load them.

I saw this story as well, but I really do think that the gentleman who claimed to be getting scratched was making the whole thing up and the scratches were self inflicted.

One of the things that I noticed was that every one of the scratches he received were never on film, and they were oriented in such a fashion that they could have all been self inflicted. I remember at one point that he was scratched on his back(Implied in the show as if it would be impossible for him to do it himself), but in looking at the red mark on his back it was oriented so that the curve of the mark made it look like he reached his left arm up behind his back and dug his nails in and made an arcing scratch.

Something just didn't seem right to me and I think it was fake...

The Sallie house is so unassuming.
[attachmentid=14859]
There have been a lot of mediums in the house since the Sightings show - which was how long ago? 2 years? The concensus is that it is indeed haunted by a little girl as well as two other spirits. No one lives in the property now, it can be rented though.

i think this was posted before under the title of heartland ghost.

http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum...showtopic=38972

it has a lot of info about sallie and the scratches etc.

i agree w/fluffybunny on this one, i think the guy was scratching himself. but it's a good watch.... yes.gif

Ladies and gentlemen! I believe with this very quote we have the answer to why those mysterious scratches keep appearing! tongue.gif

Thanks for the links. thumbsup.gif

I agree Falco, I think that answers the entire question right there. But even so, two million? My God, that is just ludicrous.

i used watch sightning too! i saw that story! i though they had update on story! that family moved out of the house but ghost sally follow them to their new home! i could be wrong! it be a long while since the show was on!

i WISHED THAT SHOWED WOULD COME BACK ON yes.gif

what was name of host of that show i forgot! i can remeber his face but not his name lol!
Fable
Err.. Tim White? I think that is right.
Mr Slayer
Oh, so many replies! Yes, Sally was her name!

It's a fake? Dammit... Are there no true things in paranormal left?
Moonlight
I believe this truly is a ghost of a little girl. Maybe she was hurt by a man, molested or something? And that's why she does what she does. I've seen a program about a lady ghost who would attack only men because she had killed herself over an unfaithful lover. Poor little girl anyway sad.gif
DarkEntity99
That sounds like a real story...
I dare whoever says it;s fake to go and stay in the house alone....
then see for your self that it's fake....

Id like to see the look on your face when DEAD SALLY creeps up to you...
with her dead face.. starting coldly at you.. while she reaching up..
to scratch you......

I was looking for information on the Sallie house so I could fill in the details of the "story" for a friend of my son. Jerry and I started investigating several years ago and have many years of experience of our own before this. Our investigative group is in Kansas and we have been visiting the Sallie house for seven months now. We found out the house was for sale and since Jerry grew up in Atchison he contacted the owner. We at first just wanted to know if it was really haunted, and could we get pictures. We had seen the shows on Sightings but like you have all mentioned how can a viewer know if it is real or not. We had a hard time believing that a ghost could do this or would do this to anyone they hadn't known in life. What is their beef? Well like I said all we started out to do was satisfy ourselves at to is it or isn't it HAUNTED? Want the answer now or do you want the story drawn out. skip the next line if you don't want to know right now......IT"s haunted beyond our wildest dreams. This house is so interesting I find myself thinking about it many times a day. Yes we went in very suspicious because it was for sale. The owner Les said we could investigate and asked for a small fee to help him cover costs. It was $40 bucks, less than a night at a cheap motel so he isn't making money. I have no idea how detailed you would like to read but I will skim over a little. One of our members started to research the history and story put out by the sightings show. Lets just say they jumped to a bunch of conclusions they should have checked out a little bit closer. Oh and once we got started Jerry contacted an old school friend that now works at the library, she has been most helpful. Once we told her we want facts, cold hard facts, and no hearsay she contacted another woman who is a professional researcher. This woman had offered some of her findings to Chris Moon who said he wasn't interested. It was at this point that I lost any faith in this investigative group. What kind of investigator turns down cold hard documented facts???? STupid just stupid but we are happy he did because we have found some very good people who also want to set the story straight.
On our first night we took the toys that have been left there for Sallie and moved them to another room. A few minutes later on a cassette recorder we placed in the room we got a grade A EVP, sharp and clear, "stay put". Sounded like a little girl. Was she telling her toys to stay put? Maybe but she could have also been repeating what she had been told, "stay put".
Oh shoot I need to say that no one lives there at this time. No furniture and no way to hide equipment, although I think that would be impossible anyway. These ghosts are so very aware of what takes place in this house it is amazing. We have one EVP that is talking about us and says, "there back". We hoped that as they get use to us coming they might also allow more direct communication with us. We also hope for some really good pictures but I think they will not let that happen if at all possible.
As for the story we have found so many errors. This is what we think happened or how this story got started. The young child in the house said she played with Sallie. Once the attacks started on the father/husband Tony, the wife started looking for help and contacted sightings. It was the sighting group that contacted the library. Sightings also contacted a psychic who came up with the year 1905 and also claimed there was a little girl named Sallie. (One interesting point, fake psychic's seem to use Sallie or Sara often.) Also interesting is that you will find that 100 years ago Sallie WAS/is a nick name for Sara. Once they decided to search for a Sally that died in 1905 they found the name of Sallie Hall who was in fact listed as buried in 1905. The cemetery doesn't have an age listed for this person and those who were trying to prove what the psychic's stated kind of dropped the ball at this stage. Interesting that the grave marker for this person was hard to read and has been stolen from this sight. Little do they know they just ripped off some poor woman's grave marker because the woman buried there was a mulatto, 34 years old and had ten kids, one of which is also buried in this plot. This is also the "black" section of the cemetery another fact that might have clued them in had they done proper research. The doctor that supposedly operated on her at his home/office had an office located downtown, so how did they come up with the fact that he worked out of the house. Ok, lets say it was an emergency, I am sure they didn't have an answering service so they probably would go to his home. This is where the story could be true but we have no idea where any of this came from because there are no actual records that any of us can find to prove this story is correct. Oh I have so many details like the number of doctors (2) and funeral homes (also 2) that were there in 1905 but we only have the word of a psychic that this is the correct year. Records for only one of those funeral directors can be found and we have access to records from only one doctor. We do know that the doctor that lived here was Sallie Hall's doctor but hey she is way to old to even be the ghost that haunts this house.
Ok I said we got one EVP the first night. We thought we heard other stuff but we had the furnace on and I was using Maxell tapes. Yes the brand of tapes we use made a huge difference in being able to pull out the EVP. We also started using a program I used several years ago called cool edit. It is now called Adobe and the difference between windows media and Adobe could be measured in yards. We are still learning how to use this program for EVP use instead of music. We have hundreds of EVP from this house. From our last visit I still have two video tapes to review and a number of cassette tapes I have not got to yet. I can tell you that placement of equipment seems to make a pretty big difference. I have picked up the voice of an old man in the hall closet by the front door. I think this closet was put in after the house was built but this is the only place we have heard him. We have the voice of the girl and I won't go into details but we do believe her name is Sallie/Sally. We have the voice of a man who is the father figure and believe there is a chance this is the real biological father of Sallie. We have heard what sounds like an English accent from EVP's of the two of them. We have an EVP where the one woman asks Sallie a question and calls her by name. We have an EVP that says "Tom needs to hold her hand". We don't know if Tom is the father figure or if there is another Tom. We also heard one of the woman mention a Dave but we couldn't make out enough of the sentence to know what else was said. We have the voices of two women or at least it sounds like two different voices. We have identified one of them from a conversation between the father figure and Agnes. He says "Agnes I am about the same age as you". I am not the one who has kept all the records and history of the house so don't quote me but the house was built around 1881 by M. C. and Agnes Phinny. (might also be spelled Finny). Ha Ha so cool to have an EVP with the name of someone we have records on that lived there. Ok now for the rest...we know that Agnes dies of gangrene from an injuries to her foot or lower leg. Although they caught the infection early and her son was a doctor the gangrene finally takes her. This was a slow painful death that would have cause high fever and delirium. This could explain the second voice or what sounds to be another voice or there could be the second woman. We have EVP that sounds like this Agnes snarling and growling. Since we seemed to hear this when we got the voice of Agnes we thought maybe this woman is a little crazy. I heard something different one time when playing and working with one of the EVP's. I think what we have here is a small child (who calls her Mommy) and is almost always with her. This child died before old enough to speak many words but he is full of sound effects. What made me wonder if we hadn't misunderstood what we heard was the EVP that sounds like a child shooting with his loaded finger. We have all played that we can blow away the enemy with our finger gun. lol We started listening with the idea that it is a child making sound effects instead of a crazy woman but even so we can't agree that they can all be explained away this way. We did find some type record that indicated Agnes lost a toddler while in that house too. So research continues as to who this child might be. We have the toddler calling Agnes Mommy. We don't have Sallie calling her mommy or her calling him dad but we do have EVP of them and their English accents, which leads us to think they may have been father/child. We also can not over look the possibility that they came together and ACT as a family in death. We also have EVP captured as we tried to talk them over to the other side. In a woman's voice she says they say they need to stay together and they can't/won't allow anyone to leave because they will go as a group when they can. We believe that one of the children were listening and ready to go but was held back. We have other recording where they wanted to go with us either to the store or to locations that were mentioned. (usually distinguished homes from the past, family names they may have known from their lives). So as you can tell this house has our complete and total interest. As for the travel channel who said it was just a house. Ha Ha I sure wish they would come visit this house with us sometime. I suspect they sent a crew with no background of paranormal investigation but then we also know this ghost family doesn't want all the attention it has had the past twelve years. Oh I could and might write a book about this place but for now we investigate for our own benefit. We are not trying to prove to anyone that it is haunted, frankly we don't care because it is their loss and we do understand skeptics. We started out very skeptic and when Les said he just didn't want anyone in the attic well guess what we checked out. The only reason he didn't want anyone up there was the fear of falling through cause there was nothing but a few dirty shirts and a dead rat. No wires, no equipment. As for why he was trying to sell the house well we asked him that. He said he had no plans to do that until he went in and started fixing the place up. He said they bothered him so much and just messed with him so much he told them he had enough of it and if they didn't stop he was "going to burn the damn house to the ground". When finished he decided just to get rid of the house if he could make some money. The house is VERY well known and he even got calls from Germany. Now really if you were in his shoes and had put up with not being able to rent it out and the problems surrounding this house wouldn't you try to make some money? I don't think he really wants to get rid of it because he is a little interested in all of it too but if he could sell for 2 million then he was willing. Oh well I must get busy. I am sitting here thinking of this or that I forgot to mention but hey I could already write a book. I felt compelled to write when I stumbled on to this site because everyone seemed so interested. Oh and I didn't even mention the video. I have three hours of video where you can tell someone is playing with it. It was even turned off twice and you can hear the click when the switch moves. I guess this was the one thing that convinced me that the ghosts there at Sallies house do in fact have the power and ability to scratch a person. I have been playfully smacked on my butt when bent over, no one in the room. First time I said oh I have an active imagination I wasn't even aware of but the second time.....
Oh and as for Sallie being the bad little girl I say no way. I really like Sallie and she has the sweetest voice. There has been no indication she deserves the reputation she has been given. My guess, Agnes is the one who didn't like Tony. We have had nothing negative happen while there and I would have no problem spending the night alone in that house. Ok, now I really must go but if there is interest please let me know and if you have questions .....fire away. I don't have all the answers but we are trying. Have we gone to the press no. We want to study this house and to go to the press and take the chance they would find out just isn't a risk we want to take right now. We would also like to give Les more detail about what we have found but we believe that this family is aware of Les and some of his former tenants. We are trying to gain the trust of this ghost family so we are being careful. This place is so interesting and amazing. Our total of EVP's from this house is in the hundreds.
Mr Slayer
Man, this was amazing- glad we apparently debunked the hurting part! grin2.gif

fascinating! Do you have a website that we can listen to some of your EVP's. I have always been interested in this legend, thanks for explaining it out. So Agnes is keeping her family away from the light? Stating that they will all go as a family? So what do you believe is Sallie's real name?

the story i saw was on a show called unexplained mysteries as well...it was a very creepy...i think that this "girl" is not a girl at all....it's something else...there's too much anger there thumbsup.gif
BirdsMom
One of our members were just sure that anything with that type power had to be evil. After the number of hours we have spent there he has now backed off that idea because there just doesn't seem to be any evidence of evil. Agnes did die from gangrene which could be the reason for lashing out. It is also very possible that since she and her husband built the house that she feels that it is hers and these other people should not be there. In one of their conversations with each other I was able to pick out the word cancer and this was around the time the father figure was talking to Agnes and said he was about the same age. Did she think she had cancer instead of gangrene? Agnes also rented rooms at one time and she may have decided she didn't want that one person living there any more.
As for Sallie's name we do think it is Sallie/Sally but we have not been able to find any proof of the legend or records placing a 6-7 year old Sallie or Sarah that lived there or died there. We discounted EVP's where we called out to her and heard them answer by repeating what we said. (Think this EVP is on the site I will list). We do have two where they are talking to each other and call her Sallie so this means much more to us than then just repeating what we say. There have also been three different families living there over the years who had children who played with Sallie when they lived there and the families did not know each other. For us this brought credibility to the idea there was a child there named Sallie. Really what are the odds that at least three children had a playmate named Sallie that the parents could not see??????? I don't hold much hope of finding out her name from the ghosts themselves. Our search through records continues. Maybe they will say something that will lead us to records someday.
A few of the EVP's are located on this site. http://www.freewebs.com/springfieldghosthunter/kansasevp.htm
The owner of the site offered to host them because when we put it on a free site they take it down in a day or two because of the bandwidth use. Anyway some of them are on there, enough for a taste of what we are getting. Some of them are good enough that you might be able to hear them without headphones. Some you can hear on windows media despite the fact it is window media. (sorry Bill it sucks) I think media is a poor excuse for an audio program. Then last but not least I hope those who want to listen have good sound cards because the EVP (at least some) is extraordinary. thumbsup.gif
The house is a stones throw from the Missouri river. Missouri was a slave state and Kansas was a free state. The underground railroad was active but so was the railroad and home to the Topeka, Atchison and the Santa Fe railroad. Atchison isn't far from Leavenworth, once a Fort and the last safe place for settlers traveling west for several years. When the railroad did expand Atchison was a huge part of that happening and played a big part of the roots of Atchison. Several trails came through this area to cross the river by ferry. Many people died while on the wagon trail and they were buried beside the trails.
Quantrail and his raiders were also just across the river and were responsible for burning Lawrence Kansas to the ground, twice. He and his gang tried to influence the people of Kansas to become a slave state and hit towns sitting near the border of Missouri so they could retreat back to the protection of their own state.
You see the area is rich with history and many possibilities for why there might be a little girl ghost named Sallie. Hope you enjoy the EVP's.
ironjennyrackham
I think the "Gordy" haunting also had some scratches in it...if I remember right, the little girl woke up one night and said he face hurt---her parents turned on the light and she had 3 deep scratches on her face. The parents thought maybe she did it in her sleep until the same thing happened to the father (on his side) a few nights later....
BirdsMom
Did anyone hear these EVP's?????
ironjennyrackham
There seem to be an awful lot of EVPs for one night--especially since they are so rare to capture......
BirdsMom
Be sure you read about each one of them. I do explain what we are saying and what the ghost says. They are very good at using the white noise from cars as they go by. We often find words within the sounds of a car passing by. We know that we have made statements that are not recorded but in place is an EVP. One of those is the one where the little girl says "Hey Deb", "long time", "listen, listen up". What was said was hey you, "wrong tribe". This was a response to someone saying she should go to a certain haunted area in case they were native. Anyway we all remember her saying this but it was not recorded on three cassette tapes, two video cameras, a dvr camera and a digital camcorder. What was recorded was this little girl. We get more EVP's when we sit downstairs and talk among ourselves. This could be because as some people think they are able to use our voices to form or make words of there own. It could also be because they think the more people we have talking the less chance we will hear them. On this night we took a couple who said they were psychic and wiccan. It was also the equinox. We also talked about the history of the house and discussed the family that lived there. (this trick worked more than once) They commented once on the fact "that wasn't right" when reading newspaper clipings and talking about the family. Also we found that Sony tapes had less white noise than some of the others we used the first few times. We did get a number of clear EVP's but the ghosts are always there. I think there are many reasons why they where so clear. We also don't investigate by just walking through an area. We sometimes tape for 12 hours straight anywhere from three to six video cameras and at least 4 cassette tape recorders. Put all that in a very haunted house and place them in different rooms and you are bound to get more EVP's than a group of five people who walk together through an area for 15 to 30 minutes. Really how do you determine what a normal number of EVP's should be? Do you take in the possible influance the weather might have on any given night? Phase of the moon? We were just trying to see if we could tell if the ghosts we heard were just talking among themselves or if they actually listened to us. We have also been there a number of times now and each time we take a mental note of what we were talking about when we got more EVP. We are getting to know them and what they respond to.

I think you may be talking about "Sallie" the Heartland Ghost in Kansas. I have done a lot of reaearch on this home, the people, and their incidents. It is quite real, and some amazing things went on there!
My beliefs is that a little child goes to God. I know many do not believe in this, but I am just giving you my take.
We can be deceived as to what is what, and I do not believe that a little girl died, and stuck in a home, and tortures people. I believe this is demonic, taking the form of a girl, to deceive and toy with people, getting attention and energy from them, and when people do not think it is bad but a "poor little lost child who did not go 'to the light'" then they will not do anything about it to get rid of her- nothing that works, anyways.
Go to:
Sallie Page

So you have studied this house? Care to share your EVP's and pictures? How many times have you been there? [QUOTE]My beliefs is that a little child goes to God. I know many do not believe in this, but I am just giving you my take.
What is this belief based on, your religion? A good investigator does not bring their own beliefs into an investigation. So I am very interested in your first hand experience with this house.

Oh, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. No, I personally have not been there- I was not ON this case...I have just researched it from videos about it, movies, talking to people who have been there, reading books, internet stuff, etc...There are osme great pics and EVP's that are available to the public. Just do a search online to find some. The house was just for sale on EBAY believe it or not, like a few months ago. No one bought it, though.
As far as my quote re my beliefs...I consider myself a "spiritual investigator" not a "paranormal investigator". The difference is, we study the spiritual aspects of hauntings, etc...and that is directed to God- the one the Bible refers to. My faith in theBible and God came after my beliefs. My experiences, study and research came first...that led me to my beliefs and faith.
I feel a good investigator brings in all their beliefs, studies, etc...because to look at it from just one angle would be limiting possibilities.
We do not bring out beliefs in on an investigation- with that we are strictly investigators. But we do use our knowledge in all aspects for that investigation. From there, we form a conclusion on what is going on, and because we feel everything is directed by the same source- God, the Creator, we counsel and assist off of that. We are real open about who we are with clients, and always leave it up to them if they want to use us or not. We are so busy since last July! 1-2 cases a week (regularly!) and 1-3 consultations a week! This turned into a FT job for me, although we do not charge for our services. Thank goodness I am a stay at home mom lol
Anyways, what I do is a big part of why I believe in the Bible and God- man, do I have the stories! lol I have a book coming out in mid 2006, and many will be in there!
I also am a co-host of a radio show out of Ill, and we may be having the woman who lived at the "Sallie House" on our show (via phone) in an upcoming show. We're hoping make that a go!
To find out more about the house, etc...there are a few things you can do....
do a search online for "Sallie Haunted House" or "Heartland Haunting". That is a start.

Such interest and a healthy dose of skepticism. It was my husband and I who lived in that house you speak of. This all took place over ten years ago in 1993 and we moved out in 1995. The activity did follow us for a short time. Investigators continue to investigate the house and get overwhelming evidence of paranormal phenomenon. There is a website with up-to-the-minute information on the current investigations there, as well as EVP and video for this house. Those that have been to the house share their experiences, and if there are any questions you have about the validity of the activity I or my husband would be more than happy to answer your questions there. It has become a centralized location for current information as well as a place to find the facts and dispel the rumors. For more information please vist the following link. Haunted Voices
