A date? For when Vikings started and had gods? That's like asking if anyone has an exact date that spands tens of thousands of years for when the native americans crossed the landbridge from asia to the americas...

Then how do you know Christianity borrowed it? if you don't know exactly when the Norse's talked of "Hel"? or whatever you were saying.

By that I mean do you get a choice of how old you are in heaven? If not, nearly everybody there will be elderly!

Say I die when I'm 80 years old. I go to heaven (hopefully) and I'm still 80 years old, meanig that I have to be 80 years old for eternity, with the back pain and loose bladder and the forgetfulness etc.

We are all promised a new heaven and new bodies at the time of the resurrection.
All things will be made new.
Say you were 80 and you died and went to heaven, you probably would be in your best form in heaven (say like when you were 25 or 30).
However I do not fully know, but when I die, I'll try and write.

could it not be true though that heaven is boring only because it denys all the animalistic natures of man? from an animal's perspective, it would be boring, but what if heaven is the ascention beyond animalism and hell is the embodyment of animalism? then you must choose to evolve or devolve!

indeed. when you take all the god gobeldegook(?) out of the picture there are some valuable undertones to the books. as a more philosophical message it says we should strive to develop into something better (develop our higher brain functions) and strive to reduce our allowance of responses from the more primative brain structures.
edit: decided to explicidly spell out the implied in the above -> when we do develop our higher functions and reduce the impact of the primative brain structures, we will expunge any traces of gods and thus religion

quick question, for the people who were talking about blasphemy, how can the sacred feminine etc be blasphemous if that's the religion u believe in? surely it would only be blasphamous to different forms of religion and if that isn't urs then it's not blasphemy - see?
